mega since u r laughing a joke for you......

What you get for $5

Bill Clinton is out jogging around in some of the seedier areas of Washington, D.C. He notices a good looking prostitute. She sees him and calls out:
Fifty dollars! He is tempted, but the price is a little high.

So he calls back: Five!

She is disappointed and turns away and Bill continues his jog.

A few days later, he finds himself jogging in the same area and as luck would have it, the prostitute is still there. But she will not come down on her price.
Fifty! she shouts and Bill answers her:
Five! Still no sale.

About a week later, Hillary has decided that she wants to get into shape so she demands to go jogging with Bill. They get to the seedy part of town and the same prostitute is still there.

She eyes Bill and Hillary together and yells: See what you get for five dollars!

zarif - 27 Nov 2003 20:55 - 1084 of 11003

no not getting that anymore -thank god.
Just thought would delete all entries that are in the address bar at the top on IE and disable autoentry so as to give it a spring clean as it were.

Kayak - 27 Nov 2003 20:57 - 1085 of 11003

zarif: Tools/Internet options/Clear History. That will remove them, not sure you can disable auto-entry as you call it, but try Tools/Internet options/Content/Auto Complete and untick Web Addresses.

Hi All, there are some really bad hijacks arround at the moment coolsearch is one of them, they dont just come from sex sites either. The forum I posted above has a lot of info on dealing with them but some are very very difficult to get rid of.

I have a Toshiba laptop and the hard disk is starting to fail (again).

Does anyone know if I have to fit a Tosh replacement or will any 2.5" drive work?

If they are all standard what is the most reliable make these days?

Spaceman - 28 Nov 2003 11:26 - 1089 of 11003

Optimist, I cant answer exactly but many if not most laptops use standard hard drives however they then fix them into non standard cradles. So you may well be able to change it with another hard drive from another maker, I would take the machine apart and have a look.

Incidentally hard disks are more likely to fail on laptops because they tend to get moved around more as well as being dropped every now and then, the hard drives in laptops try and make allowances for this by being slower! however I know from bitter experience looking after many thousand of them that they still fail fairly often.

Thanks for that info I've had a look and it looks as though it's standard so I've ordered a standard one. I don't know what make it will be but anything has got to be better than Toshiba. My laptop does not have a hard life except for being left on all the time this is the second disk that has failed after less than a years (almost) continuous use.

Do you know of any way to mount a laptop drive in a standard PC in order to copy the disk image to the new disk?

BTW Thanks for your post re Concorde it enabled me to switch on Sky News to see the final take off. Very Sad.

I'm looking to do same, Lancslad... The Dell 18" screens look good value. Broght thread to top..

Spaceman - 02 Dec 2003 16:13 - 1095 of 11003

LL/d2k, 2 computers sharing a broadband link is fine as long as you are not using AOL.

You need a bit of kit to setup but its cheapish and works well.

david 2000 - 02 Dec 2003 16:32 - 1096 of 11003

hi

can anyone help. i subscribe to iqcharts - a realtime charting package for US stocks downloaded from www.iqchart.com . This software has been working fine until the other day when i was looking at the charts and i think i accidently hit a key on the keyboard and the the charts disappeared. The problem is that when i now click on the icon and type my username and password i get the message 'you are now viewing real time data' as per usual, but cannot see the charts. i dont know whether its running in the background or wot. ive tried removing the program and re dowloading it. i still cannot see the charts. the username and password are correct because i have it downloaded on my works computer, which works fine.

can anyone help?
