Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

TM appears to be resolute in preventing a second referendum, which is largely being called for by Remain losers. Good for her, democracy will mean diddley squat if that happens.

An earlier post indicates the Remoaners want a vote on a) TM's deal or b) staying in, how absurd, both options keep us in the customs union. 17.4million people voted to Leave, neither options satisfy that.

any 2nd referendum - i very much hope there will not be one, as to me, that cuts across the whole voting procedure we have had in this country for centuries - will still leave swathes of people across the country very unhappy indeed

more to the point, in the event that there is a "remain" majority of any size, and that in itself is far from certain, then the clear wishes of the majority in the 1st referendum are likely to be arbitrarily binned

Stan, Surely you have already worked out the answers to your questions but I will offer you help:

a) Objections? what are they and who are objecting? (Read the thread and try to remember them all and the names of the posters)

b) What other problem? ( There are no insurmountable issues)

c) We use the "first past the post" system so as most people understand it who ever gets at by at least one vote more than the rest then they carry the vote, not the best method of defining an general election of referendum but if as a Country we want a fairer one we will have to bring in something like proportionate representation.

(It seems to be only those like yourself that cannot accept majority rules that want to change the rules because they are sore losers)

Now I hope you can idenitfy yourself as to where you fit in.

The second was considered successful by the majority in Wales. (Partial

Scotland will probably have another devolution and independence referendum within the next five years and if "Brexit" occurs it is likely that the "independents" will win and apply for to rejoin the EU.

NI when they feel the effects of Brexit will probably follow a similar pathway.

Yes there were two Fred and about 20 years apart. Both were successful in that the majority vote was accepted and the wishes of the people were enacted.

Last one was 20 years ago so we might have changed our minds since then.

I've no objection to the remoaners having another referendum 20 years after the wishes of the people are carried out and we leave the EU.

It is fine as long as I like it.

TM bating all balls on the court today with skill and resolution and clearly upsetting the Labour MP`s whom seem to be as thick as planks as they keep asking TM the same question while refusing to back her deal or face the facts and confirm we make a clean breal from the EU on the only deal they have offered TM.

i find it curious or even pathetic that corbyn lacks the balls to go for a NCV aginst the gov't but picks the relatively minor target of TM - which i strongly suspect he will lose anyway

no wonder his ratings are even below those for TM and that labour can barely scrape any lead at all in polls, inaccurate as they have proved to be in the past
