Warning over cigarette butt waste
Britain's streets could be covered in cigarette butts if a ban on smoking in public places is introduced, environmental groups have warned.
A survey by the Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment (INCPEN) found cigarette butts were the second biggest cause of litter after gum.
It found discarded butts made up one-third of waste.

================================================================
No butts
February 2006 will see the launch of a brand new campaign aimed at reducing cigarette butt litter. The campaign will not cast aspersions on smoking as a habit or health risk, but will encourage smokers to take greater responsibility for the litter they create. In addition, the campaign will look to encourage employers who allow their staff to smoke outside their premises, to provide a practical option to allow them to dispose of their cigarette ends responsibly.

About 342 million a year is spent by local authorities in England on street cleaning and litter clearance, with the most common types of litter being cigarette ends, followed by sweet wrappers and matchsticks.
An estimated 122 tonnes of cigarette stubs, matchsticks and cigarette related litter is dropped every day across the UK.
In a Local Environmental Quality Survey carried out by ENCAMS in 2002,
cigarette related litter was found in 77% of all locations surveyed and confectionery related litter such as sweet wrappers was found in 53% of locations. Drinks related litter such as cans and bottles were found in 31% of all locations.

I honestly just asked the question of Paul innocently - I wasn't trying to trap him, but he just doesn't know when to stop digging, does he?
I hear from the MAM board that that he's now also been banned on iii because of something that happened a few days ago which resulted in all his posts on the SEO thread being scrubbed. MAM is his last chance, but I can see him blowing it there the way he's going!
xxxxxxx
Paul can you confirm this ? from Oblomov on FTB,legal action would be my way.
This Oblomov person is posting nasty stuff all over the place about you, the only one I saw banned on iiiwas a thick poster , whose name I forget now.

Apologies if my annoyance got the better of me but I object strongly to the insinuation that I ever ramped SEO whilst holding no shares.
zcrooge wrote "And as an observer who never owned this particular share (I am a fascinated observer on this bb of group psychology and political manoeuvering) what is worse than Pms infantile googling is apparent sensible posters who offered seemingly carefully argued reasons for positivity when the sp was in the 20s only to inform sometime later that they have no holding and then patronise holders".
That sounds like a pop at me and totally unjustified.

I continue to read most posts as most have relevant things to say but please lets stop the back biting. As several posters have stated lets all act like adults. Comments with fact, views and conjecture sensible argued whether agreeing or not with one's opinions can be a fountain of knowledge, which I presume is the sole reason we all monitor these boards.

On a general note, these bb's are discussion and opinion boards are they not?
Is one allowed to continually assess a situation or not?
Funny how its OK for say Eric/TFC to say only now that they sold at 28p and state their current assessment which I hasten to add matches mine however I get a shed load of grief for a couple of weeks ago taking my profit for fear of the current market assessment of SEO being a down-trend, and its a good job I did as I'd have lost another 25% since. Wouldn't have minded being wrong though.
Fact, when sp was rising, no amount of slating by ii or other bashers stopped the sp momentum, it went high on the back of Greenseal speculation and a US deal.
Fact, since July the sp has been in decline and no amount of posting by PM1 with ludicrous potential profits or continuous RNS's by SEO has stopped the decline, the market is taking it lower and we don't yet know how much lower it can go.
Fact, since the Summer the forecasts have been reduced and this combined with the markets reaction to SEO at this time led me to my decision to reduce my exposure to SEO and bank some profit.
Everyone is capable of taking their own decisions but if these boards are just going to degenerate into pantomine farces and slanging matches they no longer have a purpose. Good luck to all SEO holders.

The first part of my sentence refers to ME. The latter half to others (not you). The insinuation you took was never meant. As I said, I had always thought your posts on the risk/reward situation sound. No matter.

OK Zscrooge, if I have mis-read your post I apologise.
You could imagine that if I thought I was being put in the same bracket as others who have hidden agendas that I might take offence. All I've ever done is try to offer an opinion on SEO potential as someone who works within the packaging industry, doesn't mean right or wrong. Recently and with more experience these days my opinion of the market situation out-weighed opinion on potential for SEO.
Still waiting to buy back in when a clearer picture emerges.
Lets forget about it and see what SEO delivers this week!!!

For anyone interested in Timestrip (another smart packaging company) I have started a new thread:

Amities / ln addition Andy my last mail was by no means my first to question SEO s valuation .ALL my mails in the past month { since 22p } have been strongly BEARISH.: and have strongly advised selling . Afer all l am a percentages man myself Andy ; l would never be critical of ANYONE banking profit. lt is YOUR money; and for you to decide what is best in your personal circumstances . l happen to think you did the RIGHT thing . Also on no occassion have i ever slated you. lf anything your mails were appreciated as they came from someone who worked in the packaging sector. Your specialist knowledge was second to none <>,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, OILYRAG . hmm ce que c'est drole.La Blague .la situation devient alarmate ,,Err Quand vide-t-on les poubelles ! Ths is an English based board hence out of courtesy alone do i try and speak English on here. He who laughs last and all that ........@+ J ..And this week ? SEO will fluctuate between 13.5 and 15 ......qui sait lol ,,Bonne nuit

I may be a pedantic and petty man. But I think I also may be perceptive. I think that you are in fact English and choose to use a little French in your posts to complement your name. If not, and you are indeed French, then I congratulate you on your English. Funny though, with my extremely limited French I think there are a couple of spelling mistakes in your French words above.
Notwithstanding, could you please break your long posts into paragraphs so that it is much easier to read?
Much appreciated.

Andy Smith's(and others) decision to sell turned out to be the right one, what i appriciated was that he was open and informed us and gave his reasons.Considered taking his advice(selling some ),but decided to hold on until next week.
The latest RNS gives some indication that we will hear an announcement, either just before or during the conferance? To me this could be a good time for those waiting in the wing to consider an entry point, confirmation of Greenseal Orders,Starpol,Frogpack,Petal Pack or any of the other products could see this move quickly. As it has been said you don't want to be out when news does
arrive.
Read some posts suggesting mm's playing about? Thought that Sets was to
control SP movement and relate more to market trading?

TFC - suggest you post when sober or at least calm - you give the hysterical Fench a bad name! Who cares about your clever profit taking and your gallic vanity. None of your posts are really about SEO, they are all about you - deeply boring, not that you are the only one to be so on this thread which has really ceased to have any value since being taken over by the egomaniacs over the last 6 months.
Funny, you never used to be such a prick when you held SEO. Why is it that Bears are so ungracious and snide - however clever and correct and profitable, compared to their Bull counterparts who are at worst full of immature, wrong-headed, loss-making good nature. I've yet to meet a polite Bear - is it the inevitable nature of the beast that he will rage at you even when he's winning?
