I used to get that with XP and Vista, so have bitten the bullet and upgraded PC to 7 and laptop to 10. So far not had any problems, though I only use Chrome as not a great believer in using multiple browsers. Sometimes it seemed that certain software providers had to play catchup when Microsoft issue an update. Adobe, Java and Chrome sometimes seem to be one step behind. Trusteer Rapport is another one which won't work any more for me. Seems to be incompatible with latest version of Chrome.

I'm on Windows 10 (OS build 14393.447) and Chrome version 54.0.2840.99 64 bit and have no freezing problems.

What I do have an issue with is the ongoing slooooow loading of threads on this site!

I've also got 16 GB of RAM and I just had a little freeze about 10 minutes ago.

Hmmm? I'm also running an updated version of Rapport since a couple of days ago - but i was getting freeze-ups on Chrome since a couple of weeks or more ago.

Could it possibly be that the web is getting overloaded with traffic and is no longer able to cope?

I eventually had to uninstall Rapport, after e-mailing IBM support, as they were having difficulty in updating their version to be compatible with the latest Chrome update. I haven't reinstalled since and have had no problems. Possibly coincidence.....?
I do keep my computer pretty clean, without unnecessary apps, add ons, etc
With modern PC's and laptops I don't think RAM, hard drive capacity or processor speed is an issue any more, unless you are into gaming or streaming.

F12 and "console" under CHROME, shows a few errors - if only I understood them!

I have got lots of "Uncaught ReferenceError".....amongst others, but all seems to work, so happy to ignore for the moment!

Nope....I use Avast on my PC....free version. Uses less resources than AVG, imo. Not tried the above. They all try to upgrade you to the 'pay version' pretty quickly.

I use Avast premium and a Secure VPN server,ok its not free but the best setup that i have ever used.

Just installing a new HP Linux server running Linux Mint,FireFox runs very fast but as yet i cannot find a way of installing 'Adobe Flash' i am aware that its not supported any more as it did have problems in the windows enviroment,but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how this can be done on Linux ??

For the first time ever I have had a virus warning on my Android phone. I don't have any anti-virus installed but a message came up saying that IP address 31.50.177.99 contains a virus and that I should download an Android cleaner from Google.
I have checked the IP address with a Reputation Checker site but it has no data on address.
I don't particularly want to enter this IP address directly as it may be harmful. Any ideas on how to verify it or is this just a way for Google to get me to download a cleaner.....with the usual mandatory advertising attached?

Because you couldn't get any verification on the IP address, i would suggest you treat it as a scam.

That's what your average scam wants you to do, namely 'go somewhere and do a download and installation'.

I would try to research and find a good Android cleaner. eg. 'CCleaner for Android' and also the same for a good Android AV.
