COME ON ENGLAND (ENG)

BAYLIS - 06 Feb 2008 19:40

What a team.

scotinvestor - 07 Feb 2008 22:01 - 11 of 37

why is this a thread..........its supposed to be shares website!!

maybe thats why so many people hate football as its on tv so much and papers and news go on about it so much.......

u have problems with countries like iran, iraq, afghanistan, belarus, zimbabwe, kenya, israel etc with dozens more and yet if someones team win 1-0 then most people in this country r happy and news covers this more than potential world wars coming up...........oh watch out for mr.bush giving iran a whacking soon....that'll make the markets even more volatile

Well, if you don't want to read it, you don't have to. In any event BBs, financial or otherwise often cover many more topics than the core subject. They offer a respite from the traumas of trading / investing and in many cases are quite helpful. You should try looking in the Traders Room now and again.

We should take an interest and note of footballers. They have more money to invest than the majority of us - although "why" is an unanswered riddle of our generation/s - Market forces dosn`t wash with me. Make a stand. Arrange a future date when noone turns up to watch any game. Just as importantly do not buy replica shirts etc and certainly not for youngsters - they are the supporters of the future and may not be able to afford a ticket. The game is being spoiled by greed and talented young men being led astray by money, and agents, leaving managers with little chance of inforcing discipline. Engalnd would be best run with a Football Coach and as Manager a recently retired Regimental Sergeant Major from the Grenadier Guards.

BAYLIS - 08 Feb 2008 13:49 - 14 of 37

ENGLAND TO IPO. AS Fans want to take control and all become shareholders.

Dil - 08 Feb 2008 15:25 - 15 of 37

It would probably be a flop.

Dil - 08 Feb 2008 15:25 - 16 of 37

... sorry pt :-)

Fred1new - 08 Feb 2008 15:41 - 17 of 37

The English team seem to have more money than sense.

Do you think they would buy my portfolio off me?

partridge - 08 Feb 2008 16:14 - 18 of 37

If you split it into four parcels and then tell them they are getting four for two, they will snap your hand off.

Fred1new - 08 Feb 2008 19:16 - 19 of 37

8-)

explosive - 08 Feb 2008 19:36 - 20 of 37

England should have an English Manager, Coach and Support Team... Would have given the job to that Havent & Waterlooville manager... At least then we'd have seen something different rather than the same old mainstream crap year after year....

mitzy - 08 Feb 2008 20:16 - 21 of 37

Give it to that Welsh bloke with the beard whats his name...Rowan Atkinson he seems a nice enough chap.
You know the Archbishop of Canterbury after all he is always on the front pages.

explosive - 08 Feb 2008 20:21 - 22 of 37

Not a bad idea Mitzy, could throw in a few stones from other religions and take football hooliganism to the next holy level....

mitzy - 08 Feb 2008 20:50 - 23 of 37

Now thats not a bad idea explosive...a stone for every fan should be a riot reminds me of the Python film The life of Brian when John Cleese tells the crowd not to throw before he tells them to..

explosive - 08 Feb 2008 21:05 - 24 of 37

A Classic, now imagine them all in robes armed with bibles...... Kinda gives it a Black Adder twist..

scotinvestor - 08 Feb 2008 21:31 - 25 of 37

england doesnt have many in top league as managers........scotland actually has a lot of top managers........we lacked a team for a decade....but now its gordon, hutton, ferguson, mcculloch....scott brown is midfield dynamo already destined for at least 15 million transfer.
even italy and france were shitting themselves when playing us.

watch out for hutton at spurs.......he bombs down the wing....he took the piss out of the i ties when playing for scotland

required field - 08 Feb 2008 22:22 - 26 of 37

The trouble with the England football team is organisation in defence on the pitch, when they lose the ball, starting from the midfield working back, they should also adapt a few ideas from the very good Danish teams of the last 2 decades that when after a few defensive minutes they break out in grapes one side of the pitch or the other : 5 or 6 players tightly packed together with 1 player covering for any loss of ball to relance the others again, there is no need to always play the whole pitch all the time, keep it tidy one side or the other with the advantage in numbers on one side of the pitch very suddenly can surprise the opposition; (you cannot play the whole game like this though, just now and again) : remember the Brazilians in attack at Wembley : they attack and try to outnumber the opposition for a very short time : we should do the same and then resume defensive attitudes.

Dil - 09 Feb 2008 02:18 - 27 of 37

Bollox , trouble with English football team is pure and simple ... they are overpaid prima donnas and therfore have no incentive to try and win matches.

Joe Say - 09 Feb 2008 12:37 - 28 of 37

As opposed to the underpaid Italians, French, and Spanish players eh ?

mitzy - 09 Feb 2008 15:04 - 29 of 37

English hooligans best in the World..!

jimmy b - 09 Feb 2008 15:30 - 30 of 37

All football should banned ,they are all a load of poof nancy boys who fall on the floor if someone breathes near them.
