Just gone long on GSK - going to cause grief to my paperwork, as I sold my previous holding 3 weeks ago and they cost me more to buy than this new holding as I had held some of about 2 years!

BrianTrayda - 10 Jul 2003 15:03 - 12 of 29

Hi stv,
Unfortunately the pivots are staying on the other side of the trader's door. If they were this side they would be open to the whole world which I don't really want to do. They can lose people money if they aren't fully aware of how they fit in and that's not a good thing.

Didn't you once reside in Trader's? Or was that just the freebie?

Regards
Brian

Does anyone understand what is going on with CS. I've being buying and selling this one for the last 3 months - currently up about 65%. Sold the last lot last week at just over 19p and then it started to drop as expected. But it really struggled. So I purchased a small amount at 17.5p (which is not like me as it should really have gone down below 16p because of the sell volumes) but it's now gone back up! (Last time I looked it was 18p!) It's almost as if it's trying to drop, but someone or something is stopping it!

Brian

Many of us were chucked off the Traders' Thread a few days ago !!!

BrianTrayda - 10 Jul 2003 15:19 - 15 of 29

Druid, Trader's Thread in the Traders Room? Chucked=Expired Freebie?

ThePlayboy - 10 Jul 2003 15:19 - 16 of 29

Driud2-scuse me butting in but why was that?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jul 2003 15:26 - 17 of 29

Playboy,

nothing sinister, we just identified a glitch that was allowing some of our free users to access the traders thread - which is a payingg service, so unfortunately we had to fix it and remove the access.

Hope this clarifies

Ian

ThePlayboy - 10 Jul 2003 15:28 - 18 of 29

Thanks Ian, did,nt think it was as I had never seen Druid or agent007 post anything negative! Pay up and come back thats what I say:)

little woman - 10 Jul 2003 15:32 - 19 of 29

Ah but ThePlayboy - although it's quieter, the investors room is currently developing (I think) quite well. I can use the traders room, but choose not to. Too much information overload!

ThePlayboy - 10 Jul 2003 15:34 - 20 of 29

little women-yes, I have seen more posts here recently and it would be nice to see it build, will post here the odd time also to do my bit!

little woman - 10 Jul 2003 15:39 - 21 of 29

CS. now selling at 18.25p (will wait out for 19P?) Why still going up? Dealers still want to sell far more than they want to buy!!!!!!

BrianTrayda - 10 Jul 2003 15:51 - 22 of 29

L.W. - here's something for you. Top of 23.

4th July
LONDON (AFX) - Shares in Corus Group PLC were extending their recent rally
after ABN Amro upgraded its recommendation to 'buy' on hopes of positive
newsflow from the steel group in the next three months, dealers said.
The broker, which formerly rated Corus shares a 'hold', set an initial
target price of 23 pence.
"Corus is still a speculative investment at this stage but we see a big gap
between the current share price and where it could be if the group achieves its
goals," ABN told clients.
It argued that the troubled group is stabilising, with new financing
agreements with banks -- including ABN itself -- having already been pencilled
in.
"We await confirmation of the final syndicated facility and expect this to
be positive for Corus's equity," the broker said.
It also reckoned Corus has seen an improvement in its loss-making UK
operations during the first half 2003, helped by steel prices, sterling and
cost-savings.
This should be enough for the group to show a profit for the UK when it
reports interims in September, ABN said.
The broker was also encouraged that Corus chairman Brian Moffat has a strong
track record of corporate reorganisation, given the group is faced with further
restructuring in the UK costing an estimated 250-350 mln stg.
At 10.11 am, shares in Corus were up 0-1/2 pence to 18. They have rallied
from 14-1/2 pence over the past five sessions.

3rd July
LONDON (AFX) - Corus Group PLC said the Central Works Council of Corus
Nederland has given positive advice on a new three year banking facility which
will facilitate the ongoing process of securing the facility.
On June 4, Corus announced that as part of the process of securing a new
three year banking facility to fund its medium term working capital
requirements, Corus Nederland BV's management board would consult with its
Central Works Council.
These consultations would consider that the terms of the new banking
facility would include the provision of security over the shares of Corus
Nederland BV, and the intermediate holding companies above it.

Bear Stearns investment strategist Francois Trahan believes the pace of the recent equity market advance will slow as he expects earnings growth in the second half of the year to decelerate, versus Wall Street expectations of an acceleration. He feels diminishing productivity and pricing power will weigh on earnings, and the interest rate and capital expenditure outlooks remain uncertain. "Accordingly, earnings-focused investors are likely to be disappointed as estimates continue to be shaved toward more realistic levels," Trahan said in a note to clients.

little woman - 10 Jul 2003 16:05 - 24 of 29

Thanks BrianTrada,

Knew about the central works council but not the up grade. I've considered Corus undervalued for some time which is why every time the price drops I pile back in!(I've always been able to sell out at just over 19p before the price drops again!) I've increase my limit sell to 22p (just in case it doesn't make the 23p before it drops!!!!!!!) - not bad for a share that a lot of people stay well clear of!
