newswatch-beta.jpg

MoneyAM's new NewsWatch service allows you to monitor realtime news for stocks of your choice.

This service is now in beta and we are taking requests for feature enhancements and any bug reports that you may have.

If you are reporting a bug, please post the following information:
What browser you are using (including the version number)
Exactly what behaviour you are seeing with any error messages.

This service provides streaming news information however isn't reliant on Sun's java nor Microsoft's VM but it does
require that your browser is relatively recent. Versions that are known not to work are:IE before version 5.5
Opera before version 8 (they didn't introduce the technology before v8 which is currently in beta)

In order to try out this feature, please go to: http://www.moneyam.com/newswatch/.

On the to-do list currently, there is:

Create import feature that will import your Stockwatch watchlists
Make available in Terminal
This product will be released on the Active level subscription and above

J,

Yes It's Safari 1.2.4 (125.12).

Pardon my computer ignorance but I don't know about any proxy software that might or might not be there, how would I be able to find out?

Stan,

I will pass this onto JT and get him to post here

Maybe off-topic in which case sorry, but would this explain why on Stockwatch nothing happens when I click N for News ot T for trades. It was working fine a week ago and I don't think I have changed anything.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 04 Apr 2005 08:49 - 18 of 30

dave,

This would be due to a pop up blocker either in your firewall or your browser - can you disable any pop up blockers you have and try again and let me know if this makes a difference?

Regards

Ian

Geez wish I was not so thick LOL...it works ..thanks

Stan - 04 Apr 2005 09:05 - 20 of 30

Same with me Ian It works then, trouble Is the pop-up blocker Is there for a good reason.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 04 Apr 2005 09:10 - 21 of 30

Stan,

With most pop up blockers you can get the option to add trusted sites - it may be worthwhile takeing a look at the options in your blockers and then adding MoneyAM as a trusted site.

Ian,

I've checked on the Apple site and Safari does not allow that option unfortunately.

The only way I suppose Is to unblock each time I want to use the facility.

Stan.

Stan,

I don't know much about safari, but would you be able to try what it says here:

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030906093300383

And post any output you get when viewing the NewsWatch page?

J.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 05 Apr 2005 08:48 - 24 of 30

Stan,

Also, which watchlist are you trying to view from your two?

J.

Stan - 05 Apr 2005 09:44 - 25 of 30

Ian,

I will have a look at macoshints later.

Im watching the watchlist with 4 companies In It, the other one was a mistake and I can't seem to delete one list without the other.

Fixed a bug today where it would miss news article if your selected epic was not the first epic in the list.

also forced it to display the epic that it matched against rather than the first one in the list.

All,

I have been working on the code behind our beta NewsWatch service and have fixed a number of bugs.

Most noticably, NewsWatch now works well with Safari (tested with version 2.0).

I'll be working on more NW features this week.

The URL for NewsWatch is: http://www.moneyam.com/newswatch

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 18 May 2005 16:12 - 29 of 30

all,

I have just added the ability to delete unused NewsWatch lists from your profile.

If you click on the 'manage watchlists' link from within NewsWatch, you'll see the new option.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 19 May 2005 11:13 - 30 of 30

all,

I've just added functionality to import watch lists from stockwatch to newswatch. This should facilitate easier use of the product.

J.
