Guys this one maybe worth buying in the short term ( 25% gain as usual) (IQE)

peeyam - 03 Jun 2005 08:27

recently hit support at 6.31
is on a rebound

resistence level = 10.5

price target 14p

I expected it to hit 10.5 in the next 10-20 days making it a 25% gainer :)

Take a look and please let me know what you guys think

I held this share for more than a year, constantly averaging down and eventually sold at 10.65p in January this year at a very small profit. I agree with most of the posters that this share is oversold like many other AIM stocks. The financials are not great but this share can easily touch 10 - 12p on positive newsflow. Also, one has to watch the spread - the bid price doesn't always move in tandem with the offer price especially on the ascend when the spread can be almost 20%.

This may be a good time to get in but when bottom fishing, investors usually find there are many other AIM stocks with better financials and more potential. DYOR and good luck to all.

IQE upbeat at wireless growth

Welsh epitaxial wafer company IQE has issued an upbeat trading statement, indicating revenues for the first half of 2005 are substantially up.

The firm said unaudited Q1 2005 revenues are up over 15 per cent compared to Q1 a year ago. This represents the second consecutive quarter of significant revenue growth since Q3/2004, and we expect this sequential growth to continue, said the firm.

IQE has been fighting losses for a number of years but won a significant outsource agreement in November last year, worth $25m over two years. The firm is forecasting substantially reduced losses for the interim period of 2005, to be announced in mid-August.

Major milestones towards developing a strained silicon-on-insulator product for the 65nm node will be reached in the next few months, said IQE.

moneyman - 15 Jun 2005 11:04 - 15 of 37

It is 2 weeks old and some people may not have seen the news hence the reason for posting it ! Anyway look at the SP today.

skyhigh - 15 Jun 2005 13:14 - 16 of 37

Poor excuse if ever I heard one... anyway... what about today's SP ?

moneyman - 21 Jun 2005 00:08 - 17 of 37

Did you really think the spread was justified ? EVOs are filling an order at around the 7.5p level.

moneyman - 17 Jul 2005 23:11 - 18 of 37

Now look what happens !

Now looks ready for a bloody big break out

skyhigh - 18 Jul 2005 08:12 - 19 of 37

Moneyman, Yes, it's looking good ! There is specualtion that an MBO is in the offing....Bid needs to get to 11p b4 I'm in profit..

But what makes you think the SP is due for a big breakout ? could it not just as easily reverse suddenly ?

aldwickk - 18 Jul 2005 08:45 - 20 of 37

Bid down to 8p, locking in buyers at 9.25 .

skyhigh - 18 Jul 2005 08:56 - 21 of 37

Moneyman... like i said, this could just as easily reverse suddenly ? it has ? bid down...now 8p,
Seen on another BB that ARM could mention IQU in a release tomorrow. don't know how true this is or what's going to happen... sit tight and hope for the best !

aldwickk - 18 Jul 2005 12:28 - 22 of 37

The offer price as gone down 0.25, the first move since the opening which makes a change from only moving the bid price.

Kivver - 18 Jul 2005 13:40 - 23 of 37

What about the dollar pound exchange rate?????? is not true to say with the dollar getting stronger this will help increase margins?? iqe report in dollars!

skyhigh - 18 Jul 2005 16:06 - 24 of 37

So much for the "break out" !!! more like brake down..... someone's taking us for a ride Friday / today ! Hope tomorrow it's different.

skyhigh - 18 Jul 2005 16:11 - 25 of 37

Looks like an mm classic pump & dump exercise..what a bummer ! glad I didn't buy anymore to go with my orginal holding..

Kivver - 18 Jul 2005 16:39 - 26 of 37

ill take that as no then. lol

Kivver - 18 Jul 2005 16:43 - 27 of 37

ive watched this one go and down by these margins before. Like i said above when people realise the difference the exchange rate will make to the figures the buyers will come back in.

Kivver - 18 Jul 2005 16:57 - 28 of 37

nearly a milllion bought at the close today!!!

ptholden - 18 Jul 2005 18:49 - 29 of 37

Just about the only thing that moved today was the Bid, although the Offer did dip a little.

pth

goal - 18 Jul 2005 23:11 - 30 of 37

Hello Kivver, I am pretty shaw if the Doller is weaker to the pound this will help increase margins.
