Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.
Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.
Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).
Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.
The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.
People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

It's nice to see that Evel Knievel Evel-ution is one of the what's new games featured on Verizon's get games portal.
What what I can gather, there are about half a dozen titles which appear randomly when you go to the site. If you click refresh enough times you should get to see Evel.
So hopefully this should boost sales. Can't think that well make the top 10...but who knows.
Can't wait for the VOD deal to break through next week !!!!

This gets even more interesting. Why are Nokia presenting papers on the JSR184 platform ?
Topic:
Java(TM) Technology for Mobility
ID: TS-2121
Speakers: Kari Pulli
Principal Scientist
Nokia
Tomi Aarnio
Senior Research Engineer
Nokia
Abstract: The Mobile 3D Graphics API for JavaTM 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2METM) (aka. JSR-184, M3G) augments the J2ME platform with powerful 3D rendering and animation capabilities. The benefits of M3G for 3D application developers are numerous, including an order of magnitude performance boost and much reduced development costs.
This presentation gives insight into M3G from the game developer's perspective. The presenters describe the design, programming philosophy, and feature set of M3G in detail, contrasting those with OpenGL and other existing APIs. Using fragments of example code, they explain how to get started with the API, how to perform common tasks, and how to implement and optimize selected visual effects.
The presentation closes with a review of the status of the API in the marketplace, and a discussion of where and how it is being used. This includes live demonstrations, running on off-the-shelf mobile phones. Plans for future evolution of the API also are discussed.
You should have basic knowledge of 3D computer graphics. To get the most out of the presentation, some level of familiarity with OpenGL or similar would be helpful.

skids, sony erricson that is. The geeks all develop Java on linux, it is the choice for developers and is generally provided by sun, NT is too flakey and Unix to expensive, any third party mobile games will then almost certainly be developed on swerve as sun is the daddy in this area. Notice that the market has fairly well received this news but the longer term implication is more extensive. As open source is the desired path for all (except microsoft of course), this basically gives swerve the strongest foothold you could ever wish for without operating a barrier to entry, shows it was the best choice to work on the JSR184 ratification! All in all, this could be the week for SPS!

ORANGE, T-MOBILE EUROPE ADOPT JAVA VERIFIED PROGRAM
Supported by 65% of the Mobile Device Market, Java Verified Expands Carrier Adoption
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- June 24, 2004 -- Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Sony Ericsson and Sun Microsystems, Inc. today announced that the Java Verified[tm] Program, a program to provide a unified process for the testing and certification of Java[tm] applications for mobile handsets, has been adopted by mobile operators Orange and T-Mobile Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands and UK). In addition, the test criteria of the Java Verified Program have been updated and the website has been streamlined to simplify navigation and application submission.
The Java Verified Program has become the standard for mobile Java application testing since its launch in February 2004 by Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Sony Ericsson and Sun Microsystems. With its expanded market adoption, the program is now supported by leading wireless operators totaling over 100 million subscribers and device manufacturers representing 65% of the global market. The program provides developers with the most effective way to test, promote and distribute mobile content to global end-users and subscribers. Developers whose applications successfully pass Java Verified testing can choose to participate in marketing and distribution programs offered by each of the member companies.
"With the adoption by Orange and T-Mobile Europe, the Java Verified Program enjoys unprecedented support to bring cohesion to the mobile industry," said Juan Dewar, senior director, Consumer and Mobile Systems Group, Sun Microsystems, Inc. "With these leading carriers on board, it is becoming even easier and faster for developers creating exciting and profitable mobile experiences on the mobile Java platform."
Beginning July 1, 2004, Orange and T-Mobile Europe will require all new mobile Java applications distributed over their wireless networks to be successfully tested under the Java Verified Program. The adoption by these two leading global operators broadens the collective technical and marketing expertise of the Java Verified Program and should accelerate demand for the Java Verified Program among developers seeking to sell to the largest possible market.
"A high-quality application testing program is one way that we maintain a quality user experience for our subscribers and is key to maintaining customer loyalty," said Graham Thomas, vice president of Content Services at T-Mobile. "It can also help us to assist developers by dramatically reducing the cost and complexity of qualifying applications for our phones and network."
"The broad reach of the Orange network demands an application testing program that delivers a fast route to market for our Java developers," said Steve Glagow, director, Orange Partner. "With a single mechanism to significantly reduce time-to-market, our developers can now more easily reach out to millions of mobile users who are eager for the highly personalized and innovative services for which Orange is known around the world."
To participate in the Java Verified Program, mobile Java developers can register at www.javaverified.com, and select among the participating global testing providers to test their applications. Also available at www.javaverified.com are detailed explanations of the testing process, testing criteria, pricing and access to member companiesmarketing and distribution programs. Wireless network operators, device manufacturers, application publishers and others interested in joining the Java Verified Program and advancing the program's goals should email the Java Verified Program Office at jvpo@javaverified.com.
