Sounds good to me, what county is that (pardon my ignorance of anything north of RAF Lincolnshire). Any small crofts for sale that a poor ex RAF man could afford?

optomistic - 06 Aug 2004 17:53 - 11041 of 23498

Oh jj not what I imagined but I am sure it is all picturesquare.
Must go now have a nice weekend everyone.

jj50 - 06 Aug 2004 17:54 - 11042 of 23498

Socs - East Lothian. Big wealthy farms unfortunately! Even cottages going for too much, same as the rest of the country. What sort of planes did you fly? Sort of see you as a Buccaneer man!

jj50 - 06 Aug 2004 17:55 - 11043 of 23498

Have a good week-end opto. Evening dd - glad you are enjoying "quality time" with the children!!!

stockbunny - 06 Aug 2004 17:56 - 11044 of 23498

Well happy people, the windows vibrating from excessive bass
means number one son is home in mobile disco...
and now standing by his motor with mate posing...but I didn't say that
(bless..you're only young and beautiful once!)
Better russle up some food...
Have a good weekend all and see you all on Monday, it can only get better!!!

jj50 - 06 Aug 2004 17:57 - 11045 of 23498

Bye bunny. I am off too - food to prepare ... too hot though ....

brockman - 06 Aug 2004 18:13 - 11047 of 23498

Sorry had to dash this morning Opto etc, might be on the news tonight or over the weekend. Meridian was at the Tenterden Steam Railway and at my age a full set of make up takes coffee, time and commitment :o)

I'm fine but I see our ladies equities are flagging :o( However, I have worked out that if we all give up smoking and work out at the gym at least three times a week, we may all be able to extend our lives long enough to see them recover! :o) Even my ICI has gone pear shaped now!

Can we change the rules again :o)
Brocks

PS. I've noticed today that socks and sandals equals beard :o)

Bless you jj, I didn't fly. The RAF is the only military force where we send the officers off to war and we all stay safe and sound in our beds.

I was a Lightning, Phanthom and Vulcan man, with a few odds and ends thrown in for good measure. Just see everyones faces when I say I worked on Spitfires! I'll have a look at East Lothian, see if I can afford it.

chocolat - 06 Aug 2004 18:59 - 11049 of 23498

Just home after a long innings...a large cold bucket will do nicely.

Socrates - 06 Aug 2004 19:28 - 11050 of 23498

chocolat
Would you like anything in the bucket?

chocolat - 06 Aug 2004 19:35 - 11051 of 23498

:) Yes please Socks, I'll just give it a swill - glorious footbath there - I've had to drive home with heaters on full blast (a spot of overheating going on there..)

optomistic - 06 Aug 2004 19:59 - 11052 of 23498

Socs, Lightnings and phantoms, two power houses there. Remember a display at Doncaster flying club in the 60/70s when a Lightning finished his show with a vertical barrel roll into the clouds and no stall exit. The Phantom I understand could use his entire fuel load in two minutes on afterburn, pilots had to take care there as they would be back on the ground for refuel before they were out of circuit with that fuel use. You must have had some interesting times, pity you didn't fly it is something quite, quite er exiteing if that could describe it. Oh and Vulcans they are BIG!!

STORMCALLER - 06 Aug 2004 21:57 - 11053 of 23498

Thought police gathering early, trying to stop people getting in here ahead of the great switch off, saw the buggers off of course, but it might discourage latecomers.
Need some well chilled fizz after that, might even have a sit-in, protest at the bully-boy tactics.
Sorry, evening all.

STORMCALLER - 06 Aug 2004 22:06 - 11054 of 23498

Head still not working too well, I must thank jj50 and stockbunny for kind words, don't know where my manners are.

STORMCALLER - 06 Aug 2004 22:53 - 11055 of 23498

Better have a refill, don't want all this stuff to waste, never know how long the place is going to be shut.

STORMCALLER - 06 Aug 2004 23:23 - 11056 of 23498

I think another bottle is called for, can't think anyone will notice.
Looks like the goons are gathering outside, too windy to come in here though.

chocolat - 06 Aug 2004 23:27 - 11057 of 23498

Join you for a quickie then

STORMCALLER - 06 Aug 2004 23:31 - 11058 of 23498

Good evening,
I knew they wouldn't be able to stop you, got some great fizz, or would you prefer something else?
