oops! Nodded off there. Time for a walk on the beach.

snoball - 09 Jan 2004 18:02 - 1113 of 2279

If you look at this Dow chart it looks like a top may be in.
Doesn't it?
The PPO (price percentage oscillator) seems to have lost momentum.
The ADX looks to be changing direction.
Any thoughts anyone?

zarif - 09 Jan 2004 20:47 - 1114 of 2279

Brilliant fall and got the short 115 pts gain on this one.

Nice one zarif. You must have been short all day.
I tried a long at 10500 - and you know what heppened there.
Reversed it and managed to get enough to come out up 2 points on the day.
My system is now short but I don't want to leave a short on over the weekend.
I don't know when the Fed will decide to take a hand.
So now I am flat till Monday.

snoball - 09 Jan 2004 20:55 - 1116 of 2279

I bet they take it back to 10500 before the close.
Maybe not.

snoball - 09 Jan 2004 20:57 - 1117 of 2279

Nite y'all.

zarif - 09 Jan 2004 21:05 - 1118 of 2279

Snoball - I managed 3 shorts today - 2 medium ones and the last was the nutctracker - i think the Ym have been exposed pretty badly -imagine 1000 jobs only to add and in nov figures were 14000 error.
You are right best not to open today

have a good w/end.

zarif, what error? Please explain when you get the time.

zarif - 10 Jan 2004 07:56 - 1120 of 2279

Snoball : In nov they had upped the figures at 57000 when in reality it was 43000. (hence a error of 14000) and to top it this time they were expecting 150000 to 200000 jobs added when they came up with a paltry 1000!!!!!!
No wonder the market went down triple digits ( wouldnot have surprised me at all if they ralled as they have been doing that lately -no matter what the results)

good grief, zarif. The Truth is catching up with them.
Can they keep this rally going now? It will be interesting to watch.

zarif - 12 Jan 2004 13:10 - 1122 of 2279

hi everyone:
Just been to the dentist and had the tooth yanked out -still anaesthetized and numb -fun will start after when it wears off and i hope the dow is not going to give max pain aswell. The futs looking bit healthy and i feel thet the market will open high and shoot down to fill the gap and hopefully carry on south.Reckon should shed another 40-50 pts (says he!!!!)10400-10380 area?
The bulls and bears will be locking horns so below say 10440 shorts and 10460 and over longs -fun should start at 10670 if it gets there.
Going to lie down for a while now and back to Ym at 14.30hrs.

Melnibone - 12 Jan 2004 15:29 - 1123 of 2279

Know the feeling, ref the dentist, Zarif.

I was there on Friday. Bit into a peanut, half a double
tooth sheared off and the filling fell out.

Ouch!

Not sure about the US tanking after filling the gap open.
These markets still feel strong to me. It's been making
monkeys out of Bears that have been calling a turn since
last March.

It seems to suck 'em in on retracements and then use them
to squeeze the markets rapidly higher.

We may get some retracements, but I reckon we'll see 1180
on the S@P before this ends. (When ever that is.)

Melnibone.

snoball - 13 Jan 2004 12:49 - 1124 of 2279

Futures looking strong, http://www.cbot.com/cbot/dow/fivequotes/0,2656,2%2B12,00.html and I am short. B****r!
I'm hoping for a drop from an open at 10500 or so otherwise I will be stopped out.

Harlosh - 13 Jan 2004 13:03 - 1125 of 2279

Hi Everyone,

Just looking in to see how things are going for you.

The sale of my business is perched precariously on a
knife edge so I don't feel my mental state is conducive
to trading at the moment.

Hope to be back with you as soon as possible. In the meantime
good luck with your trading. Speak soon.

PS Happy New Year.

zarif - 13 Jan 2004 14:26 - 1126 of 2279

Hope it works out Harlosh.

Today is a good example of why it is good to have a system.
This morning I was sure the retracement was over and my short would be stopped out. However I am up 24 points up as we speak. Sticking to the system is the hardest part of having one but it invariably pays off.

snoball - 13 Jan 2004 17:03 - 1128 of 2279

and a few more!!!!!!! wow! what did greenspan say?
