True hewitt, but this price is wrong, and 'market sentiment' will change!

Biscuit - 11 Oct 2005 14:28 - 11112 of 27111

Very true Bugz

shamona - 11 Oct 2005 15:05 - 11113 of 27111

This smells so much like a coming profit warning or placing that it's worrying me.

bosley - 11 Oct 2005 15:10 - 11114 of 27111

sham, is that the voice of experience talking?

Bema - 11 Oct 2005 15:17 - 11115 of 27111

Bosley, he was a BPRG holder. Last time this happened to him.....

TheFrenchConnection - 11 Oct 2005 15:20 - 11116 of 27111

Amities / i was worried at 22p !! l KNOW there is an overhang of shares.Yet mms are compounding the amount what with thier spread causing massive selling ....ls it stop losses being buried in addition to plain simple selling or something a little more simister.Such as a principal position being aquired by stealth on the cheap. ..l doubt it yet the mind boggles .l must admit Sham it does appear a possibility that a placing could be on the cards ; and news is hitting the ears of principal holders ,,,,Plus this age of reason holder /s worries me .....,,,@+

How on earth would SEO need to raise more capital at the current time? I may be totally wrong or of course we cannot trust SEO's management anyway, but I was lead to believe that the company had more than enough cash in the bank??

Mad Pad - 11 Oct 2005 15:27 - 11118 of 27111

18 months of cash I believe, even if nothing happens.

Bema - 11 Oct 2005 15:28 - 11119 of 27111

Maybe we could petition the LSE to ask SEO to produce a "no problem" explanation RNS?

I'm still happy but there are others that need it spelt out.....

KingKonggb - 11 Oct 2005 15:29 - 11120 of 27111

qc,

Think you're right on this point. They have plenty of money in the bank, esp after the placing at 12p, back in the early part of the year. Although this was mostly used to fund the biotec acquisition. SEO haven't ruled out further acquisitions, if it fits into their portfolio. I have to say, that even the management are looking much longer term. Obviously this isn't what Short term profit takers want to hear but I'd rather have a small piece of a much larger cake (and that maybe 3-5 years).

Biscuit - 11 Oct 2005 15:30 - 11121 of 27111

"Major steps are also being made in both Europe and North America towards the commercialisation of a number of projects, particularly those involving Biotec's materials and Stanelco intends to update the market with these developments shortly"

Enough said

shamona - 11 Oct 2005 15:32 - 11122 of 27111

bos

Unfortuantly it is the voice of experience (i've been caught out a few times), in saying that i'm not selling my trade just yet as it may just be sentiment driving it down short term; we may see a relief rally as punters perceiving this to be cheap take a punt.

qc

I hope you're correct but they have been spreading themselves about of late.

Sharesure - 11 Oct 2005 15:40 - 11123 of 27111

At the AGM the Board stated that they did have sufficient cash for 18 months without any further orders - not that they were probably even contemplating that to be a possibility, and neither should anyone else believe that to be likely either. The bonus point at the present time will be to shake out all the weak holders and hopefully build back the sp with a greater number of shareholders who are in this for the medium term. From what I hear from the company there has been no material change in what they hope to achieve and all the babble about placings and hedge funds etc. is just that.

TheFrenchConnection - 11 Oct 2005 15:49 - 11124 of 27111

Amities SS ,,mms dont work to "build back the s/p with a greater number of shareholders who are in for the medium term ,, That is patent nonsense and certainly not the job of an mm ( unless he is acting as nominaetd broker as well ) For goodness sake man the s/p has fallen from 30p to 12p so dont tell me all is fine in the house of SEO.Because it is patently NOT .......@+ J

Biscuit - 11 Oct 2005 15:51 - 11125 of 27111

True Sharesure

Read in The Independent that Northern Foods say high energy costs are keeping margins down. What could help them with that I wonder??? It's all looking very promising.

Sharesure - 11 Oct 2005 15:55 - 11126 of 27111

TFC, I am not suggesting that anyone other than a shareholder can decide their strategy; unfortunately for SEO it did attract a large number of shareholders who obviously thought that this was going to be a steady ride to a much higher sp. This shakeout will have been of benefit if it has lost them.
As for whether the company is fine or not, you have your view; I trust mine and that is that this is a stock to tuck away for a couple of years and possibly add to en route. I guess you must feel sore that you have lost. Tough.

tweenie - 11 Oct 2005 15:59 - 11127 of 27111

what exactly has changed in the fortunes or expections of this company?
the share price has dropped- so what.
If you believe in the long term future of this company you'll carry on as normal and posibly top up.
if you were in for the short haul, them ho-hum, put it down to experience.
if you've got nothing better to do than just moan and woa, about how hard done by your are and that its all the fault of rampers, then sadly you've got no one else to blame but yourself.
sell and leave.it's really is that simple.

Bugz - 11 Oct 2005 16:09 - 11128 of 27111

Tweenie - amazing post!!! ;)

bhunt1910 - 11 Oct 2005 16:09 - 11129 of 27111

Must admit to baling out of my cfd's earlier this week - but I have been topping up at 12p today. Am hopping that this has been overdone now and will hold until next week when there will be some news of some sort that will help to reverse the sentiment.

With humble apologies to those that I thought were twats - even hinting that this might drop to 12p - I surely did not expect it to drop so low - and I guess it could still go lower still - but as QC alluded to earlier - I am happy to be in at this price - rather than trying to find the bottom and miss it,
