Come on ii. For a man of your enormous intellect it is not difficult. You said (twice) in your post "200 maximum".
Either you are privy to information that is not released to the public or you are a sharlaton who inserts the odd untruth into your posts in order to justify your position. I ask again that you either justify this comment or withdraw it and apologise to the board for misleading them, deliberately or otherwise. I have no problem with anyone expressing any opinion on here, providing that opinion is justified. I have no issue with genuine mistakes. I have a real issue with damn lies.

I'm not so sure this RNS is great news.
Hadn't we assumed that Starpol 2000 had been approved for use with food? We never questioned that it hadn't, anyway, so nothing new there.
More trials with ASDA, albeit it for a month only. But 'more trials' is not good news - we thought the trials were a thing of the past.
As for being on target for the 200 conversions - they said that in the last RNS on 3rd October (The adoption of Stanelco's GREENSEAL Technology under the ASDA contract continues to progress in line with expectations) so nothing new there.
I dont think this is very great news, I'm afraid, and not likely to lift the SP for long.

A nice timely approval before the packaging conference methinks.

Just a thought, guys (before ii jumps down my throat and accuses me of anything)
Someone yesterday (might have been Boz) said he had noticed that a sharp decline one day in the sp was inevitably followed by an upbeat RNS the next. Given that an RNS announcing a government approval can hardly be concocted to support the sp, could there be an issue here with inside knowledge in the market, and the price being artificially reduced for someone to get in cheaper before the RNS?
Or am I becoming paranoid?

It is good news however does anyone think that this only a short term fix for the SP to stop the slide and perhaps we'll settle back to 12-13p?

oblomov - You should at least give credit for the reassertion of the 200 m/c target sorting out some of the sillier discussions on this thread over the last few days.
The 30day exclusive wiith ASDA is news giving a market and a timescale dimension to Starpol.
We may have been naive to have forgotten to question governmental approval for Starpol, but the news is better than being denied approval and, since it is required, is a major hurdle overcome for a new product - in particular the US FDA is notoriously hard to battle through and they are half way there.
So credit where it is due, although I agree it does not ell us how many tonnes at what profit margin SEO will be flogging to ASDA, or any tangible prosppects in the US market.
If the SP stops falling, that will be something achieved, while we wait for actual sales figures.

Don't think it will do much to stop the slide, but it should be good sweetener for long term holders

Ob,
I think the new trial is more to do with the "other general packaging applications" mentioned in the RNS, and the approval is news. It has just happened and the previous 200 conversions were for greenseal. Asda are now looking at taking the full house of Greenseal and Starpol. This is surely extra to our expectations, even though SEO probably expected it when increasing their supply contract with NW for Starpol ingrediants.

Remember I posted a few days ago, that Starpol could be used in Tetrapaks instead of Polythene, with the approval today for food use, it's quite possible that Tetrapak could start using it soon too, that would certainly explain a 'limited' 30 days for ASDA.
Cheers,
PM

Alan, take your point re ASDA taking Starpol.
I still believe the 200 conversions had already been confirmed in the earlier RNS as 'expectations' already were that this would happen by July 2006.
I also still feel it is Greenseal news needed to lift the SP in any lasting way - there is no new Greenseal news in this RNS.

Another positive RNS for SEO - this just keeps on getting better and better in my opinion - but I do tend to agree that without very positive news on Greenseal - then we will be back to evens - if not a tad lower by tonight.
Nevermind the short term - the future is bright

why do you need gs news when we have been told that a minimum of 200 machines will be installed by july, so we know by then what the income will befrom asda/gs
there is obviously a lot of stock out there, but hopefully the the comimg rns on biotec and gs machines will soak that up

At the moment Ob, I agree with you, but over the last few days, these boards have been full of speculation that Asda will be nowhere near 200, so re-confirmation is very welcome. However regarding Greenseal, I have a sneaky suspicion that this will be eclipsed as the focus of SEO's range in the very near future and that Starpol will be the new cash cow on the block. Capital equipment is all well and good but by its nature it is durable, and I believe many will not convert but simply wait to buy Greenseal equipped machines at the economic end of their current technologies life. Starpol is, by the sound of it, a consumable that has many more uses than Greenseal and could rapidly replace current consumables without the need for expensive adjustments.

Also when someone like Tony Rouane goes public and confirms that ASDA will acheive the 200 machine conversion again (note he was quite specific - no weasly words)- you can be damned sure that he is confident that he will acheive that target. So my take is that he thinks 200 is a comfortable target and he hopes to deliver more. Nobody likes to go on record and not deliver - especially someone like Tony.

Captain Guide has been quoting again on the other side:
"Goodmorning all - Captain Guide with a short update.
On standby for takeoff next week..todays approval is just the start. The flight prices was the cheapest till yesterday and might be cheaper today but wont be next week.
Good or Bad DYOR "
How many bloody take offs do we need? This plane must have serious engine problems or is it the gourmet food staff refusing to dish out those meals again?!!!
I wait in patience, still with my seat belt on!!
