mick no i dont know what each product does...i dont think that is important...the numbers tell everything and even though you must spend hours on web sites searching for stuff that is not even related to MDW you fail to grasp the basics...they consistently lost money and now seem to be making some...my call to 3p was correct and i think if they had not got their shit together they could have gone under

i was not interested in them as a long play while they were loosing money depsite whatever rubbish you posted regarding piss sticks or whatever you bang on about.

and yes it was poor trading..having an avergae of 12 and averaging down to 6-7p while they were at 3p....is terrible trading...that cannot even be debated...the very fact you know so much about the products means you have fallen in love with this company......which is very dangerous when investing....

the numbers are the important things...i was right on 3p, the company is posting slightly better figures but we are in a bear market which has not bottomed yet so the price will fall further

drawn down overdraft has increased by 170k and they paid 33k to service that overdraft and made 39k profit...as i keep saying my local fish and chip shop make more money than this lot.

margins have been squeezed...psa watch now off the agenda in terms of updates....not 1 single reason to buy and yet you lot think this share price will go up??.....am mystified why it would increase? genuinely why is this comapny under valued?? i cannot see it and dont bang on about fairfax saying they are going to make x amount...they have never been near to getting it right

if i were a holder i would be selling now at 6p if i could and buying back in the 2-3p range which the chart is saying is now a certainty....i expecta full year loss

so question...is psawatch is so great...why has there been no huge surge in revenue figures from UK and Europe on the back of it being sold?

the whole reason a lot of you hold this is psawatch...it has not made them any money in Europe which could be argued when taken as a whole is not much smaller than the USA.....this company is not going to change overnight with US approval...at bets it would be a selling opportunity for long term holders

i really think a lot of you have to ignore some of the nonsense ramping going on here...the company is draining cash and there margins are reducing (despite this wonder PSA machine they have for sale)

i really think the future looks bleak for mediwatch...if someone can put in concise terminology why MDW is a buy i am all ears....dont point me at fairfax report...they are a bunch of clowns as well...that interim report is shocking and i mean really poor.

UroToday.com - Dr. Robert Nadler, of Northwestern University, wrote an excellent editorial in a recent issue of Cancer regarding the commencement of prostate cancer (CaP) screening at age 40.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Care Network (NCCN) recommends an initial PSA at age 40 for men of all races. The frequency of subsequent PSA tests would depend on the initial level. Dr Nadler refers to work by Scales and associates that analyzed data from the 2002 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System. This database is an annual, population-based survey from the Centers for Disease Control that determines the rate of screening in men between the ages of 40 and 50 years. It reports that 22.5% of men ages 40-49 had a PSA test the previous year, compared to 53.7% of men older than 50 years. More African-American men than Caucasian men were screened (33.6% vs. 21.5%).

Nadler believes the data is encouraging in light of the fact that most primary care physicians are not aware of guidelines to screen men at age 40. He points out that a baseline PSA at age 40 serves as a starting point for determining risk. For example, the median PSA level for men in their 40's is 0.7ng/ml and for men in their 50's it is 0.9ng/ml. An age-specific median PSA between 0.7 or 0.9 and 2.5ng.ml results in a 14.6-fold and 7.6-fold increased risk of developing CaP for men in their 40's and 50's, respectively. Carter reported that men with a PSA velocity of 0.35ng/ml/year or greater were 5 times more likely to die of CaP more than 10 years later. Thus, a baseline PSA at age 40 serves as a starting point for determining PSA velocity and detecting CaP in young men at risk. Nadler suggests that to be effective, PSA needs to be measured yearly beginning at age 40, while the NCCN guidelines recommend if the initial PSA is 0.6ng/ml or less, it can next be rechecked at age 45.

Men with a PSA of 4.0ng/ml or higher who undergo radical prostatectomy have a 30% chance of positive surgical margins and thus worse outcomes. Decreasing the PSA threshold for biopsy and treatment to 2.0 or 2.5ng/ml would decrease this risk, Nadler writes.

Finally, he pointed out that the death rate from CaP in the US has decreased from 41,800 in 1997 to 27,050 in 2007. Yet the position that small cancers are unnecessarily treated remains a counterargument. For these men, a diagnosis does not mandate immediate treatment and active surveillance with expectant management can be appropriate. He supports the counterargument with the issues of cost and complications of the biopsy procedure, not to mention the psychological burden of a cancer diagnosis. Yet, in conclusion, the guidelines and rationale for CaP screening beginning at age 40 are well presented by Dr. Nadler, and serve as important information for urologists and primary care physicians.

Hmmm,this slipped the net.If as the Daily Mirror states (relating to PSAwatch) but I wouldn't take it as gospel:

"The NHS hopes to have it by December and use it with a second test which checks for a gene produced by prostate cancer cells."

then it would make sense to have a month long campaign to bring awareness and may be part of a gov./NHS push during this month,just a guess though.

Mediwatch have had plenty of time to demonstrate PSAwatch to the NHS so December 2008 may not be far wrong and along with 'The Prostate Cancer Charity' extending 'Prostate Cancer Awareness Week' to a month long event which if it had happened earlier this year you would say jolly good but from a MDW perspective not much effect!Now,MDW are in a different position especially with the recent 'Official Launch' of PSAwatch,lets wait and see.

I have performed research in prostate cancer for many years. Initially this was at Imperial College for which I received an MD thesis. I have performed subsequent research elsewhere as well as contributed book chapters.

Significant numbers of men are found to have a high PSA indicating a risk of prostate cancer, which can sometimes be serious. I use the most up to date diagnostic algorithms and tests to determine the risk of any and high-risk prostate cancer.
