Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

CD , don't disagree with you but the best thing she said was only the government could request an extension of Article 50
Deal or no deal , we are leaving.

At end add “(11) The provisions of standing order No. 24B (amendments to motions to consider specified matters) shall not apply in respect of any motion tabled by a minister of the Crown pursuant to any provision of section 13 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.

If you don't understand what that means, Dilbert, I'll explain it for you.
Basically, it means the beginning of the end of Brexit. I'm sure you'll get over it. But if you don't, j'en ai plus rien à foutre.

Standing orders are procedural, Hilary. They do not have the force of law as they do not constitute an Act of Parliament or regulations. The Withdrawal Act is an act of Parliament.

Try reading the text of Grieve's amendment a second time, iturama. And if you still don't understand what it means, ask Fred or Stan.

Here's a hint...
Standing Orders of the House of Commons - Public Business 2013
General debates
24B.—
Where, in the opinion of the Speaker or the Chair, a motion, That this House, or, as the case may be, the committee has considered the matter, is expressed in neutral terms, no amendments to it may be tabled.

Above my energy level and pay grade
But very few things other than death are irreversible.
What I do wonder is whether JC will allow free votes.

Ps.
I have waded through the today's Observer.
Interesting, but very depressing outlook on the world's economy.
Just wondering which country the Brexiters are going to do their deals with.

Anyway, a statement of promise from the present government is like a promissory note from a bankrupt company!
Will they be gone by Xmas?

Fred,
As a word of advice going forwards, never suggest that something is outside of your job description. Just tell the gammon that, if they're too stupid to understand what they've voted for, they won't be allowed a vote in the second referendum.

Mrs May doesn't agree with you Hils and I'm sure she has been better advised on the legal position than any of us on here.
Slow boat to no deal anyone ?

Is that the same Mrs May who promised to get net migration down to the tens of thousands as Home Secretary back in 2010, Dilbert? She was fos then, and nothing's changed now. You still believe any of the cr@p that comes from her mouth??
As a reminder, there's a big difference between denial, and that famous river in Africa!

Dil,
Theresa thinks we will be in uncharted waters if she doesn't get the vote she wants.
I think she is wrong, I think she will be in a sinking boat with the rest of her crew.

Then you have nothing to worry about. So why do you keep bleating on about how unfair it all is just be like Hilary and tell the drunken sheep f*cker he does not know what he is talking about and leave it at that.

Wake up outsiders you know as well as most people that the coming Informed Referendum will confirm that we are staying in Europe.. so you better get used to it or emigrate.

Good one Hilary. I'd be better off asking Stan and Ollie. The duo here don't do answers because they don't understand the questions.
