NML is due its interrim results now, last year it was the 28th of this month.
They are setting up a new site to explore/research/analyse and all the equipment to do this should be on site now, and drilling should start soon, all this extra news should be covered in the interims.
does anyone have any further positive views on this company ??

Dynamite- Ianwc is not psychic..lol. The news on Hudson was out a couple of days ago on the Hudson web-site.
I wish NML had written a clearer RNS on Friday. I sought some clarification and was told that the news release on Friday was sent out to explain that the company has had to bring forward work on the kimberlites due to a number of larger companies entering Angola in search of kimberlites ie De Beers.
The alluvial work goes on, though.
IMHO, it would still have been much better if the Company had given us some idea of what they were finding, especially given the huge amount of material they must have processed by now.

Dynamite - hi - some good news at last which seems pretty concrete. Any idea of values attaching to NML's 20% free-carry? Diamonds not quite big enough yet for my collar - looking for 2.5mm minimum grid size, please!
Takahe - Have to agree with you, NML could have issued this report the same day as Hudson. Also still not very happy with their Angolan operation - they have stopped alluvial work to move that equipment over to speculative kimberlite work whhiilst they wait for new equipment from S. Africa presumably to re-start the alluvial mining.
Is the sudden haste to get started on the kimberlite a) to satisfy potential partners they are worth JVing with, or b) to beat the competition arriving elsewhere in Angola for some other advantage - not clear what you are saying - I had understood a) from NML's RNS.

may..I can't see a box to post it in, so I'll put it here.
The news release was sent out to explain that the company has
had to bring forward work on the kimberlite due to a number of larger
companies entering Angola in search of kimberlites, i.e. De Beers. As
original forrecasts had to be set aside due to rain, and equipment
taking weeks to clear it was deemed prudent to start work on the
kimberlite. The recent photo's on the web site of the equipment and the
diamonds have been taken on the alluvial operations on the kimberlite.
This area, I believe is thought to be the source of earlier alluvial
finds.
If the company is also alluvial mining on the kimberlite it will make it
a lot more difficult for a competitor to muscle their way in to the hard
rock, the motherload.
Rest assured that the company is continuing to act in the very best
interests of the shareholders. Remember the board are paid peanuts and
rely heavily on options which are triggered at levels much above these.
**********************************************************
In addition to that, if you look on ADVFN, you will see quite a bit of information relating to the geology of the area. What is possibly happening is that they have decided (a while ago) to dig down towards the kimberlite. Above that is often a layer of material which may be a secondary source of diamonds crumbled away from the kimberlite as it erodes.
They are not digging these huge holes for nothing, hopefully!

uk analyst 06/07/05
New Millennium Resources attracted buyers again today, after its joint venture partner Hudson Resources confirmed significant diamond counts from its spring drilling programme. Its shares added 0.5p to 3.5p. The company now plans to initiate over the summer. The discoveries made are clearly encouraging and should substantially enhance the Greenland asset and thus, New Millenium's 20% free carry interest. Further news as the drilling progresses over the summer is inevitable and prospects are looking good.

takahe,
I wonder what the timescale is for proving the resource In Greenland?
And I wonder how many months of the year they are able to work, given the inclement weather and remoteness.
Hudson are Canadian, and they manage there, just wondering if the same is possible in a remote part of the world such as Greenalnd.

Why didnt the trading updat give figures in terms of the company's performance compared to its expectations?? I thought thats what trading statements were about??
Until there is concrete evidence that this company is going to do what it says it is going to do, then I am glad to be out and to try and get my money back i lost elsewhere.

I have no idea. Hudson are an experienced company and I guess they know what they are doing.
