A good point made by Evil K in a historical item (simon cawkwell)......
I see that Renesola (SOLA) has published a full year trading statement saying that pre-tax profits will be $22 million. Now this company does not pay tax but on a normal basis that would be earnings of 7.8 million which puts the stock on an historic PE of 72. Renesola has a thin balance sheet and is not a cash generator. I remain short.

Ouch! That's gotta hurt!
I must admit that I agreed with gf in principle & I sold my holding a week ago at a profit, expecting a downturn.
Might get back in if the shorters have their day.

HC, not short.
I said I was going into short at the Bond take out price of 5.88. Its up above.
10% dilution then comes into play and as they are now paying tax at 12% coupled with the increase in shares which will arise, the underlying P/E of 50 plus now will go through the ceiling.
The stock cannot warrant that kind of rating.

Oh dear, it just gets worse in relation to dilution.

the good side of this is that the market likes the news and at the moment it is only a request to double the share capital. If they go ahead with a main market listing and a listing on Nasdaq as has been considered by the board for some time in the future--there are at the moment very few shares in free float to satisfy the US demand so they will probably have to double the no. of shares. An announcement on these lines plus news of further expansion would rocket this one up!! IMO
If they did a scrip issue-I'd be delighted.

M+ .... the way i read it, and at the mo i have no position here, is that the market is very undecided quite what to make of SOLA .... while sp has broken back up through 560/565 barrier, it may well find times rather trying next week on the back of Wall Street's volatility

GF, you've been talking this down for months and it still defies your doom and gloom.
The time and effort you have put in on lambasting this Company is unbelievable.
I am sure your intention is to help we suckers from losing our hard earned dosh, but why not just leave us to our fate ?. We have obviously decided that we are willing to take the risk.
Thanks for your efforts, but you are becoming something of a bore on this subject.

Dill 200p is probably the right price for these.
Just consider this .
If the resolution to increase the shares in the company by double is passed at the AGM EPS will fall by 50% placing the stock which is on a rolling P/E of 50 plus now to well over a P/E of 100 plus. That cannot be justified and maintained.
Surely you remember the dot com crash.

Yep and probably like you couldn't understand the ludicrous valuations but as CAT told me at the time .... if its going up buy it.
That advice made me good money , your shares are worth what the next man will pay in the short term ... long term who cares.

Dil .... your view has great validity .... more crudely put, "Don't try to piss against the wind" ...... however, for the moment at least, SOLA has stalled and is doing nothing in either direction ...... though my inclination is to say it will fall, nothing is happening in that direction either, even on a generally weak day.

Dil, CAT lost a fortune during the dot com boom backing momentum plays , ask him. (ive got it in writing)
I made a fortune, because I got shot when the underlying valuations started to get silly.
When you buy a car you should always look under the bonnet.
Cynic as for 'pissing against the wind' its always stood me in good stead as a contrarian investor, although I do admit trading short term can pay off even though the returns are not as high as long term investments.

GF, do you REALLY have to wait for EVIL to hold your hand before shorting SOLA.?
Talk about His Masters Voice, you 'gotta laugh.!!!!!
