Biofuels Corporation. (BFC)

wilbs - 07 Jul 2004 19:47

The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.

Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

Direct Market Access. You stick your own orders through the book. BFC is an AMSM stock which, like SETSmm, allows you to be your own MM. You buy on the bid and sell on the offer sides.

I'd suggest you check it out. ;-))

GNI CFD info

Al

Probably the only difference between GNI and IG as far as BFC is concerned is the former's ability to offer a shorting opportunity today or recently. Out of interest did you try and take out a short today?

Big Al - 29 May 2007 10:31 - 1133 of 1184

pth - not tried today, but had a buy order sitting for some time earlier. No problem.

Update - couldn't put sell order directly into book. Am not going to hit bid in attempt to short as won't throw money away! ;-))

Big Al - 29 May 2007 10:31 - 1134 of 1184

PS - that's a new one on me. Can't short with direct access. Hmmm.

ptholden - 29 May 2007 11:18 - 1135 of 1184

Even a sell order on the Bid first thing this morning would have reaped a nice return, bit pissed off I couldn't trade.
Makes you wonder how this is going to unravel with all the stock apparently out on loan?

Big Al - 29 May 2007 11:23 - 1136 of 1184

I'm long at this juncture and have an order to close a little further up the book. ;-)

cynic - 29 May 2007 11:29 - 1137 of 1184

going long is always going to be easy ...... try it with SEO and you'll get your arm ripped off ... lol!

Big Al - 29 May 2007 14:53 - 1138 of 1184

Closed for a penny whilst shopping so around 10% intraday will work for me. ;-))

cynic - 29 May 2007 17:33 - 1139 of 1184

AL .... have checked with GNI ..... they use excatly the same systems as IG and if one wants to short, they too have to find a lender of stock .... in this particular case, i don't think there have been any lenmders for the last 4/6 weeks

ptholden - 29 May 2007 17:48 - 1140 of 1184

Nice one Al :)
Cynic, wots a lenmder? Is it the same as a lemming?

cynic - 29 May 2007 17:54 - 1141 of 1184

a lenmder is a cheeky one who follows the example of Opik Lembit, more correctly spelt from transcribed cyrillic as Lenmdit

Big Al - 30 May 2007 07:41 - 1142 of 1184

Cheers pth. Don't expect to be doing the same every day. ;-))

cynic - you learn something new every day. I really was not aware I could not short even with DMA. Mind you, it doesn't seem sensible if there's none to borrow. At some point it all has to be bought back. Hmm.

ptholden - 30 May 2007 07:43 - 1143 of 1184

Al, well, I guess if the company is terminally stuffed that's probably where we will see the DCB, when all that stock is bought back, praps summat to keep any eye out for ;)

Big Al - 30 May 2007 08:06 - 1144 of 1184

Always looking for an edge, pth. ;-0

big bear squeeeze but BFC is still a no hoper ...... suppose Barclays reckoned they were in so much shit already that extending with the hope of finding a buyer was the cheaper option

Big Al - 01 Jun 2007 08:44 - 1147 of 1184

I'm sure we've been told berofre that the financing was sufficient and it has turned out not to be, or is my memory poor? Anyone?

cynic - 01 Jun 2007 08:54 - 1148 of 1184

u know my opinion of this company, reiterated above!

cynic - 04 Jun 2007 11:56 - 1149 of 1184

and clearly the market has reflected on the new funding and also decided that BFC is still a dead duck
