This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.
Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........
MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture
We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.
Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.
This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)
The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.
Please DYOR
cheers GF.

GF, agreed and I did say I'm not having a go and that I too value Mitzy's input.
If it wasn't for Mitzy, I may have sold out for a small profit last Autumn, instead I topped up and made a handsome profit. Before the shorters got hold of it, a bit of profit-taking bringing it back to 200p was a great buying opportunity, now we have two days of shorting and big drops and you yourself said only yesterday that you would steer clear for now until you know where it settles. My post 1126 said that in this situation everyone has to make their own call. On Monday will it be 140p or 240p?? Short-term risky, long-term not.
DO YOU GF, STILL BELIEVE 400P ON ANNOUNCEMENT OF RUTHENIUM INTO PHASE II.
A few weeks ago you were saying BUY in excess of 250p and now say you are glad to be out with only old historic 40p tranches left. Thats the problem now the shorters are on to it, too many mixed messages.
I trust Mitzy's valued information and think everyone on this bb also does and if I'm out of order prying to far, I apologise. Just trying to to tap deeper into Mitzy's knowledge to work out my entry point back into MMG as the timing of the Ruthenium RNS will be vital, in the meantime the shorters could take it lower which is a better buying opportunity for us all.

Good posts GF and Mitzy.
Andy I think you've pushed as far as you can and should. Discretion and reading between the lines is the order of the day. We all want more info but just have to take what help we get and accept or reject it in good faith. Gf and Mitzy are not rampers, not that I'm suggesting that's what you think they are, clearly you don't. The advice that's given does at times seem contradictory and fragmented but the stock market is regulated.

Andy you cant beat the market and you cant fall in love with a share. You obviously know that. Things change in a matter of days on the stock market and you have to reposition yourself in order to stay financially healthy. Whats been said one day by a person as to be changed if market circumstances dictate.
In a way I was very lucky that my wife took me on holiday last week and I closed down all my trading tranches of shares including MMG and NLR I would have been badly burnt if I hadnt. If I had been online I would have said get out pretty quickly on both MMG and NLR. Both now are in the hands of day traders and they will trade them up and down to make short term gains and I will stay out of MMG (NLR I think Evils case is very weak, im still active) That is untill Mitzy gets the nod that news is on the way for MMG then Ill pile back in.
Are you set up for a PM, I would just like to clarify something with you?.
cheers GF.

Thanks for your notes GF/MS, points taken on board and thanks Mitzy for your input on here and believe me, I value that and will constantly read this thread and eventually hopefully make the right call when to get back in. I feel that I made the right call to take profit but like you have faith in MMG delivering the goods, it has so much potential, pity about current market action. Enough said.

Can't sort it right now gf but will try later, hope I havn't offended or anything, just trying to put another perspective on current trading of MMG to the belief that all will be OK very soon, I hope that it will be. I might send you message and you can e-mail me for my telling off!!!
I encouraged a family member to invest in MMG and they bought at 95p and 130p, once I got wind of the trading situation I advised selling for now and they did at 250p but also advised that they keep their cash ready to get back in when its settled. That is still my current opinion, and that is all, opinion.

You done right to sell Andy as a profit is a profit at the end of the day.I still hold MMG and NLR as well which seems to have recovered from EK's attempts to short it..I hope MMG will recover soon as well.

I got used to taking losses last year Mitzy and ended up 10% down. Happy to say that doubled the value of my portfolio since start of the year and MMG profits are part of that. WE actually agree on everything MMG in that market is a nightmare to judge right now but that MMG has such a good portfolio it should deliver outstanding rewards and the interests of the big pharmas.
Apologies if I over-stepped the mark, I didn't mean anything negative about your posts, hope to be back in soon, keep up the good posts on MMG and may all investors be rewarded.

By the way, I wonder if MMG have a cure for very badly burnt fingers of these shorters. Trouble is they may have opened and closed positions several times already with good profits at expense of real investors.

Glad you enjoyed it SWW. Last week, a mere novice like me had the temerity to suggest that I wouldn't be surprised to see 200p based upon my knowledge of holding MMG for over a year. This week with shorters playing their games with MMG I state that I will wait even longer. My views on the current sp movement may differ from others but then I would not expect everyone to agree with any opinion but my views on MMG as a company are as bullish as anyone else who has held or does hold. Mitzy's input is brilliant and well valued as is GF's but when others are influencing the sp short-term I felt it only fair to raise the issue of whether or not this was a buying opportunity at this particular moment or whether the sp will fall further regardless of our views on MMG. Wish I hadn't bothered now and having apologised for over-stepping the mark with my probing for info, if anyone wants me off this thread please say so and I'll shut up. It won't stop me buying back into MMG at the right time as the future for this company is good. Good Luck Everyone and Goodbye for now.

AS - dont be daft - your opinions are as valid as anyone's. Its up to the individual to assess what you say and make their own decisions - as to Mitzy - put that down to experience. To be honest - if it had not have been you - it might have been me asking the same question and it would have been me having my wrist slapped. This is where the experience and diplomacy of others such as GF and others come in and they add real value by informally policing some of the comments and by suggesting that you may have overstepped the mark - unlike other BB's.
We all make mistakes and none of us are perfect.
You keep on posting and expressinjg your opinions - I for one value them - even if I dont always agree with them.

andy - I agree with the above.
It never hurts to ask questions and hope for some answers.
You were right about the fall.
It's all about your money, and our money, so I believe it is as well to have the best information available, if it does not come readily then you have to ask, as I do.
Remember, a fool and his money are soon parted, so ask away and comment where comment is due.
It's true some don't want a few comments esopecially if they have negative tones, but that is more like reaction to their hopes being dashed if your worry comes to fruition.
Stay in there and keep posting.

Thanks folks, and gf and mitzy of course. I find these bb's brilliant and must say that I find it easier to take a more objective view when out than holding.
I only posted with concerns on sp/shorting/timing of RNS due to concerns about others on the bb, I can't lose from here other than mis-judge re-entry point. That's my decision but I will be reading all posts on here for other thoughts. I watched MMG more on Friday than SEO where I am creaming in the profit!!, thats becuase I want to get back in but it is so volatile. I am only currently out with profit because I learnt my lessons before with MMG sp but know the future remains excellent and want to get back in but at the best possible price. Agree with someone earlier, the sooner MMG can post the RNS re: Ruthenium the better. Lets see what next week brings.

Andy:
Dr Mark Burton is attending a conference at Cambridge on the 4 th of May and will be making a presentation speech; among those at the conference include Glaxo and Zeneca..could be a great opportunity to do a bit of business.

GF,Looked more into this 'shorting'buisness after your replies last week, cheers by the way.A lot of companies took a while(6 month -2 years)to recover after being hit.I think mmg will recover a lot quicker than that, does depend on news,if any,in todays papers mind. The news papers could compound on the shorting that is going on but long term can't see a problem if they can come up with the goods, lets hope so.
