PM,

Why not publish it on your website, if it doesn't breach copyright laws etc?

KK Hi,

I need permission from T&G to put it there, that won't be easy to get methinks.

Maybe it will appear on the official Stanelco website, like KBC, EVO and Hardman notes have.

It's very detailed, and is 22 pages long, something to read over the weekend !

Cheers,

HERE WE GO !!!!

Stanelco to Unveil New Starpol 2000 Products at 2005 Sustainable Packaging Forum;

Biodegradable Products on Display in Forum Exh

Stanelco PLC (LSE:SEO) will unveil new products from the
Starpol range of biodegradable, compostable plastic materials at
Packaging Strategies' inaugural Sustainable Packaging Forum in
Philadelphia October 17-19, 2005. Starpol 2000 is a biodegradable
material consisting of PLA (Polylactic Acid), a starch derivative,
which can be used in place of expensive petroleum-based products
plastics. Stanelco will participate in a speaking engagement while at
the forum, as well as exhibit samples of its new Starpol 2000 products
at the Sustainable Packaging Materials Expo, following the first day
of the conference
.

The starch-based Starpol 2000 materials will completely biodegrade
in an active compost in approximately 60 days. The material is
available in a range of blends and can be used in sheet or film form
for a diverse range of products including food containers, carrier
bags and shopping bags.

"Stanelco is deeply invested in finding renewable, recyclable
packaging products," said Stephanie Morgan-Fisher, director and CEO of
North American Operations, Stanelco, Inc. "With arenas such as the
Sustainable Packaging Forum, we are able to present companies with our
cost effective, environmentally responsible packaging solutions."

The Sustainable Packaging Forum is designed to help the consumer
goods and packaging industries understand sustainability, and where
packaging falls in context with sustainable initiatives. More than 200
attendees will be on site at the Forum.

"The Sustainable Packaging Forum will focus on two very distinct
sections. Our goal is to provide a total understanding of
sustainability and how it drives enterprise value, as well as provide
an understanding of what sustainability is not," said David
Luttenberger, publishing director of Packaging Strategies, the
organizer of the event. "At the Forum, we will also define sustainable
packaging technologies, innovations, and processes, and how they fit
into sustainability."

The inaugural Sustainable Packaging Forum will be held at the
Sheraton Society Hill in Philadelphia. Registration for the event is
open and sponsor and exhibit opportunities are available. For further
information, visit http://www.packstrat.com

Interesting .... "Stanelco will participate in a speaking engagement while at
the forum"

PM,

Jog our memory a little. We notice that there is no mention of Starpol being desolvable in warm water in you post above. Is it desolvable? Thought that may have been a fairly good selling point?

QC and DaZ

paulmasterson1 - 13 Oct 2005 14:02 - 11369 of 27111

QC Hi,

I don't think Starpol 2000 disolves in warm water, as it is part PLA part PVA and possibly other things, maybe boiling water, but I haven't seen a datasheet on it yet.

I know Stanelco make other TPS that can be temperature adjusted to disolve when you want it to, but Starpol 2000 is a bit different.

Cheers,
PM
