Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting
in the middle of a goldmine!
This company through
their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full
advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year.
Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies
and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund
placements on behalf of the companies they represent.
|
|
On first sight, the
fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector
makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because
it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think
again!
DGT bring new companies
to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated"
on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company
is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk
of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies
must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring
income).
Because DGT also act
as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging
placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In
addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work,
they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may
need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash
to speed growth.
Current NOMADships:
28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000
per year)
Current on-going Brokerage
agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)
For flotations, depending
on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000
to 100,000+
For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12%
of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M
though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000
!
These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances
and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk
of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back
to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket.
Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge
and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another
healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation
means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for
years, with DGT having to do very little.

And looking at the usual indicators (MACD, RSI, STOCH) not showing as overbought by any means with a nicely rising OBV showing great momentum, I believe.
Yes, further to go this week, I feel confident. 1p+ by Friday more than likely, IMHO.

Does anyone think there is more to this sharp rise than just the imminent results--perhaps a predator lurking??

Well, there's more money for me! :))
Could be, but the trading results, if continued into the 2nd half of the year, are more than enough to justify this price rise which has been held back recently largely, it seems, because of lack of free stock for the MMs to trade.

Strange old day, was fully expecting a delayed reported Buy to explain how the SP held up in the face of some substantial sells. Assuming nothing is reported tomorrow morning, it can only be down to the MMs desire to tempt more sellers. I am sure they will be well aware of the run up to the results and the likely impact that will have on the SP and are perhaps trying to make sure they don't get caught out again by grabbing relatively cheap stock now, while they can. Whatever the reason, quite happy to see the SP consolidating at these levels, doesn't seem so long ago that the Bid was 0.35p.

Just been catching up some very interesting posts - particularly pth and carchase; long hitter and fast driver. I'm fully with og. johngtudor (where are you john?) made the point that volumes were somewhet low with DGT for some charts to be that meaningful. Thanks too sd anf pth we have a good idea of the fundamentals and I believe it is those which are becoming more widely understood and affecting the sp. Expect this rpogression to proceed until interims in a month or so's time. The cap is still far too low. Have no worries re a takeover because not substantial enough for a bid and why should the directors want to sell at this stage; a hostile bid is most unlikely in such a people's business. Its a matter of standing back and enjoy!

Looks like the MMs are trying to shake a few more weak holders out. Very low volume this morning, so unless there is a large sell in the system, an unjustified mark down. Not unusual for very small caps.

lol have a decent holding so would not want it to go down however not looking at it from short term point of view... if you see last 2-3 weeks performance... it could fall upto .2 in a matter of days :) equally it jumps up to new highs even quicker .....

If that was a tree shake then it was the worst one in history. Look at the buyers coming in. Now more buys than sells and the drop unjustified.
