Looks like a bit of profit taking towards the end - still a good day compared to the rest of the market.

Apart from the trading arrangement with SP metal have seen nothing on Starpol volumes or revenue and therefore contribution. I accept the argument that it is good for Greenseal sales, see PM's comment re wal-Mart, but that is factored into current sp, I reckon. A decent stand-alone figure for Starpol would help; we need an idea re the number of 0's! Two or three weeks around the present elvel would be no pad thing, at the least establishing a support level. Volumes good with buys outnumbering sells, but if buying dries up, the drip drip selling could take over again driving the sp lower. Quite an important period coming up methinks.

Anyone else notice a 1.3million buy go through after the bell, at a premium to the offer. Speaking as a dumb blonde, does this have any significance, or is it just a late reported trade at an earlier, higher sp?

Interesting to see some contrasting forecasts posted yesterday (Hemscott). KBC Peel Hunt repeat their figures for 2004: 7.34M pounds with eps of 0.43. Tether and Greenwood come in with 0.1 on 4.0m. Evolution have reduced forecast to 2.1 on 4.0M. KBC peel Hunt are house brokers and you would normally expect theri figures to be close to actual comapny projections. Evo could be down on a once bitten twice shy basis. T&G may be the one to take as new boys on the block and who have presumably done up-to-date research. Given that any of these would confirm a steep growth curve, the sp should then be considerably higher. Those of us who now know the company well don't have much problem with a year or two down the road. Have we weathered the recent storms is the key question: jury out on that in my view, still.

Another example of the push to re-cycle taken from the William lake Tribune.
No doubt there are many such projects worldwide every day. A lengthy article so won't paste the link but this bit stands out, as an exception to many items mentioned re re-cycling.

What not to put out for re-cycling....Plastic bags, Styrofoam, plastic packaging and other odds-and-ends plastic items. Unfortunately these must all be sent to the landfill.

Yes I know we are all aware the the problem with plastics but the more landfill costs/shortages rise the more urgent it becomes to find alternatives.

At our local tip the price for commercial dumping has increased 10 fold in the last 3 years. Fly tipping has also increased, I wonder why.

Alan - cant really tell - but I took it as a sell because most of the day - when anybody went to sell any stock at 14.25 - it was snapped upby someone - then the price rose. My take on it was it was a sell - but of course I may be wrong because if it was a worked trade I would have expected to see a WT type of trade.
The price did play silly buggers in the last 5 minutes of time and just after the bell as well.

If it was a trade from an hour earlier, the sp was 14.25p to 14.5p so it would be a sell at under the market which you might expect. By the way, I don't look on you as one of the dumb posters on this thread! I forecast a rush of complaints from various sources that 'Eric has called them dumb'. lol! What did I say about distance giving perspective eh?

Stanelco PLC (LSE:SEO) will unveil new products from the
Starpol range of biodegradable, compostable plastic materials at
Packaging Strategies' inaugural Sustainable Packaging Forum in
Philadelphia October 17-19, 2005. Starpol 2000 is a biodegradable
material consisting of PLA (Polylactic Acid), a starch derivative,
which can be used in place of expensive petroleum-based products

my money's on 25-30p range. With serious acceleration after the summer. I don't know where it will peak but can see serious growth for years to come......all those extra 'higher' fruit patents/extras intrigue me.
