Good evening all, hope you all avoided the snow and rain. I'm late in tonight, my day to visit the tooth fairy. Had a nice x-ray on my teeth. Have you noticed that they always tell you there is no risk from x-rays but they always disappear from the room before they press the little green button?

Have you heard the tale of the two IT guys chatting? One said "guess what happened to me today".

"What" said IT man 2.

"Well, I was walking up the path when a girl came towards me on a bike. When she reached me she jumped off, chucked the bike down, threw off all her clothes, lay on the ground and said take what you want".

"What did you do"? said IT man 2.

"I took the bike" said IT man 1.

"Yeah, your probably right" said IT man 2, "the clothes probably wouldn't have fitted anyway"!

Thats the second time I have seen that on Money AM today. First time it was two market makers

Socrates - 10 Apr 2003 18:50 - 1142 of 23498

Hi Jeff, the old ones are the best. How's banking? Aviation is up and down!

little woman - 10 Apr 2003 20:39 - 1144 of 23498

Hi all - things seem extremely quiet since GD disappeared. (Was it a week or two?) I think I'm losing it.... the brains all muddled - The cold weather really slows me down... (that and the wine, and burning the candles at both ends!)

hightone - 10 Apr 2003 20:54 - 1145 of 23498

Bolddog - 11 Apr 2003 11:40 - 1146 of 23498

Little Woman, Cold it may be but nearly all the pains in my joints & bones have gone. Its GREAT! I'm running around like a Boldpup :)

We have got to get the boss back, the cleaner is going to leave today because of no pay. I looked in the cash register for a few bob but was surprised to find all of 32p, something that looked like a Euro and a safety pin.

Even the Champers is running low.

I blame a mob from the other place looting the Tea Room last night ( you dont have to go to Dadbag to find that sort of carry on you know )

Socrates - 11 Apr 2003 17:31 - 1147 of 23498

Bolddog, being just a biginner here, you have not yet been let into the secrets of "the locked room"! There is enough bubbly in there to float a battleship on. That's why sometimes there seems to nobody in, they're all in the secret place getting quietly paralytic.

Hi all
Hilary, thanks for keeping the game going. You don't think you could push me up a few places could you? Maybe I should have blown the lot on WGG, todays rise would have looked quite impressive.

hilary - 11 Apr 2003 17:40 - 1148 of 23498

Good evening Socs,

My palms are not adverse to being greased. Most things can be "arranged".

Bolddog/Olddog,

You still have an unused place in the game ..... it's not too late to join in by placing your trades before noon on Sunday.

My Pipex has just died on me, so I'm going to log off. TTFN.

vasey - 11 Apr 2003 18:31 - 1149 of 23498

good evening folks! This place never runs out of champagne. It is a condition of the lease that there is always even enough to keep me happy.

Anybody from here doing the Heathrow thing tomorrow?

Socrates - 11 Apr 2003 18:48 - 1150 of 23498

Vasey
What Heathrow thing is that? Does it affect Glasgow?

8 Ball - 11 Apr 2003 18:56 - 1151 of 23498

Evening cafe folk........

Socrates - 11 Apr 2003 19:17 - 1152 of 23498

Hiatus! (Pun)

vasey - 11 Apr 2003 20:12 - 1153 of 23498

Socks: AM seminar at a hotel near Heathrow. Was hoping one or two from here might have signed up. Glasgow quite safe, I think. It's not expected to be that rowdy, Socks!

hilary - 11 Apr 2003 20:16 - 1154 of 23498

Sorry v,

I'm doing the Bolton thing tomorrow instead.

Ursidae - 11 Apr 2003 21:39 - 1155 of 23498

Ah! .... now I know why when I pop in during the day there is (appears to be) no one at home. You're all in "the locked room", have you checked the cupboards in there? It's possible that GD has locked himself in one, hence his absence!

I'll help myself to a drink. I need one after a bad start on Monday taking a loss, followed by a dull week of screen watching slowly clawing my way back, and ending up with little to show for it. Oh well, at least I ended the week better off (just) than when I started it!

Have a good weekend all, be it in Glasgow, Heathrow, "doing the Bolton thing" or wherever.

jeffmack - 12 Apr 2003 08:34 - 1156 of 23498

Socs
Not short Wiggins, never have been. Sold my last hiolding on the rise a couple of weeks ago for a small profit. Dont hold any shares at present, mostly just trading indices

Socrates - 12 Apr 2003 10:18 - 1157 of 23498

Jeff
I hope you have good nerves then, bit volatile the old indices at present.

hightone - 13 Apr 2003 11:12 - 1158 of 23498

Pardon my ignorance of Arabic. I hope you can answer this question.
Apparently "al" means "the"... as in Al Queda means "the base."
What does Sahaf mean? My friend tells me it means "Village Idiot."
