VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

VML has had a buy signal from 12.5p IMHO, which is most likely case for rise back up, oversold SP, hence rise Up 5.3% on the day. Long way to go yet for this tadpole.

On Vane: The key announcements have been as follows :

A) Acquisition - Copper prospects:
Sampling Confirms High Grade Copper Mineralisation at Choix Prospect
http://www.vaneminerals.com/?page=PressSingle&itemId=102

B) Uranium - Properties Obtained

C)The Diablito Project : Commercial Production Initiated at Diablito
http://www.vaneminerals.com/?page=PressSingle&itemId=101
Revenue Generated :
VANE is well on its way to achieving their Self Funding objective as commercial production began at the Diablito mine in Mexico in November 2005. The Company will use the revenue generated by this first producing mine to help fund development work across its attractive portfolio of gold, silver, copper and uranium assets in Mexico, Paraguay and the US.

D) Diablito will be used to help fund exploration at Guadalcazar, an early stage exploration property consisting of a large newly recognised hydrothermal gold system having the potential to define a large gold deposit (possibly in excess of one million ounces). Guadalcazar is located in east-central Mexico, 80 km northeast of San Luis Potosi in the State of San Luis Potosi.

E) More recently, VANE Minerals has entered into an option agreement with Minera PAFEX, S.A. de C.V. to acquire the Mina Charay gold and silver prospect in the State of Sinaloa in western Mexico.

F) Acquisition of North Wash Uranium Property in Utah, USA

This Most recent and possibly a very significant Acquisition :
On Nov 17th 2005Vane announced :

Acquisition of North Wash Uranium Property in Utah, USA
URL: : http://www.vaneminerals.com/?page=PressSingle&itemId=103

VANE is also in the "due diligence" period on a further "two" properties in Southeastern Utah and is actively pursuing additional breccia pipe uranium properties in Northern Arizona; details will be announced when they become available.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE commented:

"This acquisition is another important step in VANE's growth, further strengthening our position within the uranium sector. Our projects are still in the exploratory stages, but all have significant upside. We will continue to seek additional holdings as we believe this is a market which will deliver substantial added value for our
shareholders."

Further plus side, Major Institutional shareholders include : Commerzbank and RAB Capital.

Risk/reward excellent IMHO in 2006.

An opportunity for those interested in Vane:

29th Minesite Mining Forum
Tuesday January 17, 2006

Chancery and Bishopsgate rooms
Great Eastern Hotel
Liverpool Street
London EC2M 7QN

Minesite is kicking off its 2006 programme of Forums with a carefully selected band of companies ranging from early stage producers in the cases of Olympus Pacific Minerals and Vane Minerals, through companies such as Centamin Egypt and Tertiary Minerals which are moving fast in that direction, to advanced explorers in Eastern Mediterranean Resources and Pan African Resources. In all cases the management is of the highest order and some of the projects are company makers. These are all companies which should perform well in 2006 so early registration is advisable.

Times of Seminar: 09:30hrs-Lunch.

Registration will commence at 09:00 and the forum will start at 09:30

The companies due to present at this Forum are:

...

Vane Minerals listed on AIM back in 2004, prior to which it negotiated access to a 7,000+ file global exploration database from Freeport-McMoRan, one of the worlds largest producers of copper and gold. Its current operations are focussed on the three gold/silver deposits in Mexico, Diablito, Guadalcazar and Mina Charay and it has a number of gold and copper targets on its concessions in Paraguay. The company recently announced that sampling had confirmed high grade copper mineralisation at Choix prospect. Production has already started on the high grade Diablito project and Mina Charay could follow it in the next 12 months. The company is also building a uranium property portfolio and last month it announced the acquisition of North Wash in Utah with more expected to follow in the short term.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be a coffee break in the middle of the morning and the seminar will close with a buffet lunch.
The Bishopsgate and Chancery Rooms will remain open in the afternoon and potential
investors will have an opportunity to discuss the companies one-on-one with management..

Thanks for that Madison

Madison - 08 Jan 2006 00:07 - 1147 of 2220

No problem. I'd go myself if I had time. This company's track record and delivery is excellent. The present situation is far better than when the SP was in the twenties, but that's the market for you!

Crap liquidity and tiny market cap are problems to overcome. Not easy but not insurmountable. I have great confidence in this company and hope that, eventually, the SP will reflect the high quality of the company.

Those who use news flags only might miss this because of the earlier news on change of advisor:

Vane Minerals PLC
16 January 2006

VANE Minerals Plc (AIM: VML)

Revenue generated at Diablito
New Uranium tailings property
Trading update

Diablito

VANE Minerals Plc ('VANE' or 'The Company') reports that the revenue stream
anticipated from the sale of Diablito's silver/gold concentrates has now
commenced with the first shipment of concentrates in December 2005. Continuation
of these revenues, which it is estimated will average US$200,000 per month, will
achieve VANE's objective of fully funding the group's current foreseeable
exploration activities.

Choix

Drilling equipment originally scheduled for the second round of drilling at
Guadalcazar was diverted to the Choix prospect, in Sinaloa, which has resulted
in the completion of drilling on the prospect ahead of schedule and under
budget. The assay results are expected in the next 4-6 weeks.

Guadalcazar

The first-round drilling results in 2005 were encouraging, as they confirmed the
Company's belief in the hydrothermal origin of the gold. Having diverted
drilling equipment to Choix, drilling operations at Guadalcazar are being
rescheduled for the first quarter of 2006. VANE has identified that the entire '
tuff area' of 6km by 0.8km is gold bearing. The area is estimated to contain 4
million oz of gold, although the Company deems this to be of insufficient grade
at this stage to be mineable. This, however, underlines VANE's belief that there
is likely to be a higher grade feeder(s) within the large area which has
supplied the tuff with its gold content.

Paraguay

The Government of Paraguay has extended VANE's Investigation Permits by six
months, which will now run until September 2006. The first results of soil
sampling covering the gold targets initially identified by reconnaissance stream
sediment sampling have been received and encouragingly, significant samples
indicate the existence of an extensive area 14km by 8km containing gold.
Sampling is continuing in an effort to more accurately define the extent of the
mineralised area in anticipation of conversion of our Investigation Permits to
Exploration Licences prior to drilling.

Mina Charay

Management is currently undertaking a pre-feasibility study at its Mina Charay
gold/silver project to confirm the economic viability of the project and this
study is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter 2006.

Uranium

VANE continues to be active on the Colorado Plateau in the western U.S. where a
number of attractive uranium exploration and acquisition opportunities are being
evaluated. We continue to add properties to our portfolio of uranium targets and
are pleased to announce that VANE has been granted the Exploration Permit for
the Hillside Tailings Project, North-Central Arizona. This project is deemed
relatively small with around 180,000lbs but it is a simple process of delivering
the tailings to a mill, if the economics are viable. VANE is in the process of a
feasibility study on this project.

Outlook

Chairman Michael Spriggs commented: 'The Company is pleased with the progress of
VANE so far, continuing to achieve all we had set out to do at IPO and more. The
monthly revenues from Diablito will cover all current exploration costs
throughout the group. We are active on a number of important exploration fronts
and consider there to be excellent opportunities for VANE to generate
significant growth through on-going activities.'

I baled out of these a while back when it triggered my stop loss. It seemed to be a good prospect - but kept moving in the wromg directiion.

News today looks very promising - hopefully the turning point. Good luck to those still in

Baza

Madison - 16 Jan 2006 10:07 - 1152 of 2220

Hi Baza,

The hope is for one of the U projects (not today's) to take off spectacularly. The assurance is the management, cashflow, solid foundation, varied portfolio.

As GF says, we want more investors here to make the SP take off. The sp has been held down by a small number of traders (making peanuts) having a totally disproportionate effect. Some of them are known. Nothing against trading, do it myself, just think on this particular company it's been particularly destructive recently. Only a tiny fraction of the issued share capital has been going round and round. From memory well over fifty percent is in the hands of a few big holders.

In the end quality will out!

Cheers, Madison

PS - GF, you going tomorrow?

doughboy66 - 16 Jan 2006 15:43 - 1153 of 2220

Its nice to see this one on the move up again but for how long that is the question, why can`t people see the bigger picture and have a bit of patience.

goldfinger - 16 Jan 2006 16:04 - 1154 of 2220

Madders no, I have to take her indoors for an hospital appointment which is a shame, I mean missing the meeting.

cheers GF.

Madison - 16 Jan 2006 16:32 - 1155 of 2220

Yes, it would have been good to get a face-to-face encounter, but I'm just too far away. You stick by her GF, with your hours it must be the only time she gets to see you. LOL

Wish the SP wouldn't do this periodic 20% odd rise in one day, its frequency just encourages the traders and in the long term that's keeping the price down. Still, maybe it will break free...

Cheers, Madison

goldfinger - 16 Jan 2006 16:41 - 1156 of 2220

Agreed there, WE DONT WANT TRADERS, get lost.

cheers GF.

Moving up the J-curve
By: Rhona O'Connell
Posted: '17-JAN-06 11:00' GMT Mineweb 1997-2004

LONDON (Mineweb.com) -- Typically speaking, one of the key points on the J-curve is when a company starts generating revenues and this is what is now happening with VANE Minerals.

For those unaccustomed to the term J-curve, it works roughly as follows (all these comments are predicated on the maxim pari passu, or All Other Things Being Equal):
a) company identifies a prospect; stock price can rise
b) company then spends a period of time burning funds in exploration; stock price drifts
c) company announces a reserve; stock price rallies
d) company spends time and burns cash developing prospect; stock price drifts
e) company announces production imminence / schedule; stock price enters phase reflecting development and quality of project
f) company starts generating free cash flow; stock price can improve further

Every analyst hAs a slightly different definition (including, on a more technical basis, using the Internal Rate of Return as the variable rather than the share price) but this is a broadly accurate set of parameters.

VANE Minerals has now announced that revenue is now being generated from the sale of its Diablito silver / gold concentrates with following the first shipment of concentrates in December 2005. The company expects that continuation of these revenues, which amount to an estimated US$200,000 per month on average, will allow VANE fully to fund its foreseeable exploration activities. The company is not, therefore cash-flow positive, yet, but is reducing its cash burn rate.

Mineweb readers will remember that VANE is exploring and developing precious metals and uranium deposits in Latin America and in the US. The company was listed on AIM in June 2004 (ticker VML), with a view to becoming a self-funding exploration company. This latest announcement would suggest that it is progressing down its chosen path.

The key to VANE is its management (as it should be with all companies) at the core of which is a team of former exploration experts from the now disbanded Freeport mineral exploration programme. This team, headed by Dr. Steven Van Nort, has negotiated exclusive rights to review the Freeport database, which includes over 7,000 exploration files and the company is focused on developing selected projects generated from this database. VANE has secured the rights to properties in Mexico (Diablito, Choix, Guadalcazar and Mina Charay) along with three exploration blocks in Paraguay and uranium prospects comprising 17 target areas in northern Arizona, while negotiations are at an advanced stage over additional attractive properties in southern Utah, of which at least two are believed to contain a defined uranium resource.

The Diablito property currently shows a measured resource of 23,300 tonnes grading 12.13 grammes per tonne of gold and 1,319 grammes (42.4 ounces) per tonne of silver and this ore can be taken directly to a smelter. There is an indicated resource of 11,700 tonnes and an inferred resource of 65,000 tonnes at the same grades.
Gudalacazar was put on the back burner for a time last year in favour of the Choix project in Sinaloa, with the result that the Choix drilling programme is now complete and with results due in the next four to six weeks. Drilling will now recommence at Guadalcazar, where first-round drilling results confirmed the presence of hydrothermal gold and the tuff area of six kilometres by 0.8 kilometres is estimated to contain between four and six million ounces of gold, although at the moment the grade is thought to be uneconomic.

At the Mina Charay gold / silver prospect VANE is undertaking a pre-feasibility study to assess economic viability and this should be complete by the end of this quarter.

Paraguay is further down the horizon, with the company holding exploration permits, where the initial stream sediment sampling has indicated a gold-bearing area of 14 kilometres by 8 kilometres. The government has extended the permits through to September 2006 and the company now intends to define the extent of the area more closely in the expectation of conversion of the Investigation Permits to Exploration Licences.

Meanwhile, in the United States the company has been granted the Exploration Permit for the Hillside Tailings Project in Arizona. This is a small project, (approximately 180,000 lb), but if viable then it would be a simple process to extract the tailings and deliver for treatment, thus throwing off more cashflow for exploration.

The company is still an exploration play, but is confident that there are excellent opportunities to generate significant growth; to date it has exceeded its plans as outlined at the time of the IPO and sees no reason why it should not continue to make healthy progress.

Cheers, Madison
