Renesola - want to see huge growth ? Look no further !! (SOLA)

whatuwant - 21 Aug 2006 13:28

Read the latest interims.......just make sure that you are sitting down.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=SOLA&S

goldfinger - 26 Jun 2007 14:45 - 1145 of 3050

Dill 200p is probably the right price for these.

Just consider this .

If the resolution to increase the shares in the company by double is passed at the AGM EPS will fall by 50% placing the stock which is on a rolling P/E of 50 plus now to well over a P/E of 100 plus. That cannot be justified and maintained.

Surely you remember the dot com crash.

Dil - 27 Jun 2007 19:53 - 1146 of 3050

Yep and probably like you couldn't understand the ludicrous valuations but as CAT told me at the time .... if its going up buy it.

That advice made me good money , your shares are worth what the next man will pay in the short term ... long term who cares.

cynic - 27 Jun 2007 20:38 - 1147 of 3050

Dil .... your view has great validity .... more crudely put, "Don't try to piss against the wind" ...... however, for the moment at least, SOLA has stalled and is doing nothing in either direction ...... though my inclination is to say it will fall, nothing is happening in that direction either, even on a generally weak day.

goldfinger - 28 Jun 2007 01:52 - 1148 of 3050

Dil, CAT lost a fortune during the dot com boom backing momentum plays , ask him. (ive got it in writing)

I made a fortune, because I got shot when the underlying valuations started to get silly.

When you buy a car you should always look under the bonnet.

Cynic as for 'pissing against the wind' its always stood me in good stead as a contrarian investor, although I do admit trading short term can pay off even though the returns are not as high as long term investments.

kitosdad - 29 Jun 2007 16:21 - 1149 of 3050

GF, do you REALLY have to wait for EVIL to hold your hand before shorting SOLA.?

Talk about His Masters Voice, you 'gotta laugh.!!!!!

Alleyne - 29 Jun 2007 20:16 - 1150 of 3050

goldy, if you like historic PERs of 72 have a look at Tanfield. They have one of around 165! Lols. Shorters gradually getting strangled. It's a slow death. Gotta put my fingeres in my ears cos of the gurgling! Even cynical ball-stamper has wobbled over his pussyfooting stance. He'd love to short but hasn't got the balls he's threatened to stamp on! Wotlarfs. This thread is the tabloid one.

cynic - 29 Jun 2007 21:11 - 1151 of 3050

Alleyne .... cut the gob! .... you cannot compare TAN with SOLA ..... the former has plenty of track record + new orders etc etc whereas SOLA is very much the new boy on the block with all to prove ..... just as importantly, the stock (share price!) is still very much under the control of the Chinese, whom I am sorry to say are less than trustworthy ....... I short or even buy shares when I feel the odds of their movement in the required direction is significantly better than even ...... TAN I hold, whereas SOLA could go anywhere, though my gut feeling is still lower.

goldfinger - 29 Jun 2007 23:40 - 1152 of 3050

588p is the shorting point.

10% dilution then kicks in.

And if the AGM goes to plan a 100% dilution of stock could be on the cards.

Interesting to note one of the Brokers I think it was Atrium , have put forward forecasts for margins to reduce significantly today.

Advfn puffers I note getting a little worried on my forecasts this evening on that board.

I hear Evil k is going to get to grips with this one on another site.

He he ha ha.

cynic - 30 Jun 2007 07:57 - 1153 of 3050

GF ..... my guess is that you are right, but sp will struggle to get up that 588 level as holders are likely to take their profits early - i.e. any time between now and 585 - and the potential shorters will also be queuing up ...... for sure i would not be a buyer at the current level; that looks a mug punt

goldfinger - 30 Jun 2007 10:53 - 1154 of 3050

I think your spot on cynic with your analysis.

I suppose the one thing that could help the price is institutions who are not yet in buying stock but then again they surely know a 10% dilution of the stock is on the cards.

Will be interesting to see what happens but I think they will tread water for the rest of the summer.

kitosdad - 30 Jun 2007 12:11 - 1155 of 3050

GF ... if Evil is already short on Sola, then why aren't you.? STILL sitting on the fence.? LOL.

cynic - 30 Jun 2007 17:46 - 1156 of 3050

well Mr Kitso, are you then a BUYER at these levels? ...... or are you sitting on the fence?

goldfinger - 01 Jul 2007 03:45 - 1157 of 3050

LOL, nice one cynic.

cynic - 01 Jul 2007 07:20 - 1158 of 3050

seemed to be a fair Q to me!

kitosdad - 01 Jul 2007 08:16 - 1159 of 3050

Cyn, I have enough SOLA to see me well into a comfortable retirement. Even if I sold out at the mythical 588p I would be thousands into pocket.
I don't intend to to though, and await the outcome of GF's predictions.
He i( GF ) is waiting to hear Evils thoughts on SOLA, in spite of the fact that he (GF ) has already posted an item from Evil stating HE REMAINS SHORT. Blind or what.? LOL.

goldfinger - 01 Jul 2007 12:20 - 1160 of 3050

Cynic, never ever thought you were blind, cynical maybe LOL.

cynic - 01 Jul 2007 14:51 - 1161 of 3050

so Kitso, you are effectively sitting on the fence just as GF and arguably myself are .... you also clearly do not think SOLA should be bought at this price, therefore have no right to criticise

kitosdad - 01 Jul 2007 15:46 - 1162 of 3050

I'm not sitting on the fence, nor critisising ... just defending my position. I'm VERY long into SOLA, far more than I am into BPRG, and these I've held for 4 years , at considerable deficit. SOLA have regained this deficit for me , so I am thousands into profit now, and therefore see no reason to get even deeper in. I do however have a SL on Sola which I intend to employ, thereby ensuring that I do not lose these vast profits, as I have done on other occasions. GF has Slated ( excuse the pun ) Sola from the outset, and had he put his money where his mouth is, would be absolutely BANKRUPT by now, having shorted all of his predictions down the drain.

'NufSaid.!!!!!!

cynic - 01 Jul 2007 16:42 - 1163 of 3050

hmm! not necessarily, for i have made decent money on SOLA both long and short, the last time on a short tack - sold at 544 and bought back at 493 from memory ..... i would not be at all surprised if GF has done similar

ptholden - 01 Jul 2007 16:59 - 1164 of 3050

Well, I don't think you were calling this down from 2 odd Cynic, which if the comments made on this board re GF's stance are correct, he was, in which case he would have lost a considerable bundle. As far as Kitso is concenred he has his holding and can hardly be accused of sitting on the fence! SP is slowly nudging upwards and whilst the impending convertible bond issue will have an impact, the real future of the company will be decided upon why SOLA want to double the shares in issue. Interesting times.
