new millennium resources (NML)

LEEWINK - 28 Mar 2004 15:45

NML is due its interrim results now, last year it was the 28th of this month.

They are setting up a new site to explore/research/analyse and all the equipment to do this should be on site now, and drilling should start soon, all this extra news should be covered in the interims.

does anyone have any further positive views on this company ??

'PRESS COMMENT
FT
THE LEX COLUMN comments on Olympics (claims that the Olympics will help regenerate east London must be treated with caution), SHELL/Gazprom, General Motors/VW, ABN Amro - SOMERFIELD (look expensive given the risks; as for a possible offer at 205 pence, shareholders would be so lucky) - GREENE KING (better value elsewhere)
Mail
REGUS (revived gossip of a private equity bid approach at 120 pence a share)
Express
WHITE NILE (talk that a deal could be announced next week) - SHARE WHISPER: NEW MILLENNIUM RESOURCES (bullish update; traders expect more good news in the next few weeks relating to diamond production at its "jewel in the crown" prospect in Angola) - WHO'S DEALING: ENTERTAINMENT RIGHTS (boardroom buying)
Times
RUMOUR OF THE DAY: PHS GROUP (talk that an offer in the 113 pence to 115 pence range could come as soon as today) - DIRECTORS' DEALINGS: TRL ELECTRONICS (chairman sells stock for 252,000 stg) - TEMPUS: AMVESCAP (readers who bought into the stock at the start of the year - Amvescap was one of our Tempus Ten - might consider taking some profit), GREENE KING (hold), GALLIFORD TRY (buy)
Telegraph
QUESTOR: GREENE KING (hold), JOHN WOOD GROUP (still worth holding), WSP (still worth holding if you have a few already)
Guardian
HENDERSON GROUP (traders take the view it could be the next in the sector on the receiving end of a bid) - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (whispers that chairman had received and rejected an unsolicited offer for his holding)
Independent
THE INVESTMENT COLUMN: UMBRO (worthy hold), JOHN WOOD GROUP (worthy hold), MARSHALLS (worth holding) - SCOTTISH & NEWCASTLE (Carlsberg tipped as a bidder, but so is private equity) '

I saw that. I thought "Jewel in the Ground" more like at present.

Oh well - new collar for Xmas, that's what I say.

Gary has been successful in getting a bit of coverage in various papers today.
Dreadful day for Londoners, though..poor souls

Andy - 07 Jul 2005 15:47 - 1151 of 1909

takahe,

A very sad day indeed for all those killed and injured.

I was going to the diamond ex in the Natural History Museum tomorrow, now they're not sure if they will open!

Andy - 07 Jul 2005 15:48 - 1152 of 1909

takahe,

http://www.nhm.ac.uk/diamonds/viplounge.html

Clicking on each thumbnail will enlarge it, they are superb!

takahe - 08 Jul 2005 11:14 - 1153 of 1909

Thanks, Andy..I had forgotten about that with being away on holiday.
Will have a look.

Andy - 08 Jul 2005 11:18 - 1154 of 1909

takahe,

Well I travelled in, and it's closed!

And that's despite them saying it would be open late yesterday afternoon.

And the Victoria and Albert Museum across the road is open!

Very disappointed!

takahe - 08 Jul 2005 11:18 - 1155 of 1909

Just had a look..fabulous!
Thanks, Andy

Andy - 08 Jul 2005 11:28 - 1156 of 1909

takahe,

My pleasure.

The orange flame is my favourite.

I was so looking forward to seeing the exhibition, I bought the last but one ticket available for today too!

nice tick up on NML this morning!

takahe - 08 Jul 2005 16:16 - 1157 of 1909

Yes..some good sized trades going through. One for 550K and another for 250K just appeared. What does L mean?

Andy - 08 Jul 2005 18:04 - 1158 of 1909

takahe,

That's a late trade, and as it's reported late, it's possible that it's the opposite of what it seems if the price has been volatile.

ASMITH2 - 13 Jul 2005 12:40 - 1159 of 1909

Looks like the mystery sellers back again making monkeys out of all you clowns!
ara ha ha ha ha ha ha ara ha ha ha ha ha ha !!..!

takahe - 20 Jul 2005 22:47 - 1160 of 1909

Cross and Healy are in Johannesburg on business just now.
Although there are sells, they are being mopped up by a buyer(s).No idea when next news will be but I hope their strategy pays off.
NML have now joined Minesite which will help their profile.

aimtrader - 21 Jul 2005 00:21 - 1161 of 1909

takahe,

LOL! by definition every sell has a corresponding buy, but the MM's have to make a market, so they may be accumalating rather than selling on!!!

Anomalous1 - 21 Jul 2005 11:40 - 1162 of 1909

>aimtrader
The trade data doesn't suggest this. Sure the MMs are obliged to make a two way market and someone is out there selling shares in large quantities, but the MMs do try to keep a level book as a rule.

They are not accumulating, they will drop the offer to move shares on or drop the bid to discourage further sells. This morning they've dropped the bid and the mid-price has moved. This has helped another 500,000 to be sold, but if the 'Mystery' seller(s) decides to move another tranche, then the price is headed south again.

Andy - 21 Jul 2005 12:07 - 1163 of 1909

Anom,

Surely the 500,000 is a buy?

The others are sells though, and the bid has been dropped, whereas the offer remains the same.

takahe - 21 Jul 2005 15:26 - 1164 of 1909

Aimtrader..MMs don't usually accumulate. They try to maintain a level book. The 500K is a buy.
In my opinion, the strategy thay have adopted, although it seems strange in the short term, should bring much bigger benefits in the medium term. They are still alluvial mining, just differently from what we expected!
A JV on the kimberlites is where the money is. Ask PDL shareholders.

takahe - 21 Jul 2005 15:31 - 1165 of 1909

Anomalous...lying in your teeth again..."This has helped another 500,000 to be sold,"...you can see that itis clearly a BUY @3.65p.
Why do you LIE so much? Easy answer...deramp,deramp, deramp.....
