HARRYCAT - 27 Aug 2010 21:14 - 1148 of 3666

Convinced or wishful thinking? Nothing has changed imo, to take the sp past the 105p level. I hope it does for all the holders, but in the short term I think that would be very hopeful.
Just on a lighter note on the subject of hope, I saw a quote today "I hope that when I die, people say about me, 'Boy, that guy sure owed me a lot of money.'"

required field - 27 Aug 2010 22:07 - 1149 of 3666

Convinced.....it's got to rise quickly now....I'd be very surprised if there was a pullback.....both AFR and XEL can be put in an isa....

Chris Carson - 28 Aug 2010 01:14 - 1150 of 3666

Just as a matter of interest checked Robbie Burns site (Naked Trader) to see if he had traded this stock at all.

He first traded with a spread bet long on 10.11.09.
50 a point @84.50 (Tgt 150 Stop 70)
Closed 28.01.10 @ 97.50 Profit 650

04.12.09 followed up his SB and bought 5000 shares @ 91.40 (Tgt 140 Stop 78)
Closed 28.01.10 @ 98.0 Profit 330

01.02.10 bought 4000 shares @ 88.75 (Tgt 98 Stop 84)
Closed 04.02.10 @ 92.50 Profit 145

02.03.10 SB long 40 a point @82.50 (Tgt 96 Stop 77)

29.03.10 bought 3000 shares @ 99.30 (Tgt 140 Stop 88)
Closed 04.05.10 @ 92.0 Loss 219

05.05.10 Added 50 a point to SB @ 84.50 (Tgt 100 Stop 79.0)
Closed 19.05.10 @ 92.0 Profit 755

21.05.10 SB long 50 a point @ 84.50 (Tgt 98 Stop 76)
Closed 09.08.10 @ 96.0 Profit 575

Reason for closing as reported on his site update 11.08.10 "Not really rising after a strong run and it's petered out at around this price many times."
Fingers crossed for just once he may have got that wrong! Pretty obvious though in a classic trading range, we'll see Tuesday :O)

required field - 28 Aug 2010 16:16 - 1151 of 3666

I think that ftse should sharply rise on tuesday along with many other stocks.....perhaps I'm a bit optimistic but this autumn I can see perhaps very sharp rises to come along for many aim stocks as well as the main market.....hope I'm right....

Balerboy - 29 Aug 2010 22:05 - 1152 of 3666

ftse to 5380 please 4.30pm on the 31st.,.

niceonecyril - 31 Aug 2010 07:44 - 1153 of 3666

Excellent.

Profit well up.

Debt virtually paid off.

.....and we ain't ramped up production yet.

There's only been $25million drawn down from the SEDA too to develop Ebok.

As part of the Phase 1 development, the Ebok-8 well was drilled as a water injection well but was also placed to serve both an appraisal and exploration purpose. The well encountered an additional 100 ft of oil pay in the LD1E sand, which was full to base and not predicted pre-drill. The exploration "tail" of the well was drilled to below D2 reservoir level, where it also encountered oil pay in additional reservoir intervals.

I think the market will like this.

iDoes it matter? saves a lot of typing (bumper3).

dealerdear - 31 Aug 2010 08:20 - 1160 of 3666

As soon as people come on here and say it is dead cert, their lack of SM understanding told me it was a definate sell.

Sold out Friday and my short has made me money this am.

Thanks blanche.

HARRYCAT - 31 Aug 2010 08:22 - 1161 of 3666

Whole market is down after yesterday's drop on the DOW & asian markets. Also oil down to low of $74 p/b. Most stocks being dragged down regardless of their half year figures.

blanche - 31 Aug 2010 08:26 - 1162 of 3666

Deardealer, Iam here til end of 2012 and thats a DEAD CERT and afren being 5.00+

dealerdear - 31 Aug 2010 08:31 - 1163 of 3666

blanche.

I wouldn't dream of looking that far ahead. I'm sure AFR will be OK but if we double dip then stocks that appear to be ok may well be bust in a years time. For that reason, I think of today and that is it.

By the end of 2012 if we went into a depression, AFR could be back to 20p or as you say it may be 5. Why take the risk?

required field - 31 Aug 2010 08:34 - 1164 of 3666

Most of us cannot just sell and buy back the next day except in an isa or sipp.....that does make investment decisions more tricky.

kuzemko - 31 Aug 2010 08:47 - 1165 of 3666

dealerdear,

have you closed your short position on afr???

dealerdear - 31 Aug 2010 08:54 - 1166 of 3666

I'm just waiting to see where the market's going because where that goes AFR will go with it.

blanche - 31 Aug 2010 08:59 - 1167 of 3666

dealerdear, As you say where fste goes afren follows. If the dow was well up yesterday the ftse would be up, Then Afren would have been up now and you would now be making a loss on your short. Its all a gamble!! gltu
