RTD - Why? (RTD)

Nitefly - 15 Sep 2003 10:55

Why are we again at 10.5p bid?

It doesn't add up...

Good Results + Strong buying pre results + Christmas online buying soon = Price drop

Then again some companies that have debt for equity hanging in the balance, poor results and bankruptcy around the corner and they go up!

Why sell now at a loss?

Wont that be a kick in the teeth when we see 13.5p 14p again!

Best of luck all.

Still convinced, still holding. Nothing in the business has changed, if anything with current oil prices the business has probably got stronger short term. Current year forecast, which to me appear conservative, see the company trading on a forward PE of 11.3 based on basic earnings per share and aprrox 7 on adjusted.

Look at this share in the context of the market and yes it is down heavily recently but so are a lot of other shares in similar sectors - NSB for one. The Nasdaq has been weak hence the Techmark has been weak. As a share that had grown quickly RTD was more vulnerable than some to the falls we have seen.

But, as I said above, fundamentally nothing has changed, this is a profitable, growth tech company trading on a forward PE of less than 12. Interims due out early July I believe where we will get confirmation of strong current trading IMHO.

In this for the long term and convinced as ever by the strength of the company - the share price will reflect this in the long term IMHO.

It looks suspiciously as though someone's selling RTD via T trades in 100K chunks - this is causing the accentuated dips, and smaller weak holders predictably bail out (at precisely the wrong time) helping the trader make more of a killing.

Then, it looks as though when the price hits a low, they buy back the chunks again in T trades and wait for the inevitable rise. And so the cycle continues....

There is consistent buying support at 16p, and given an improvement in general tech. stock market confidence we'll see RTD back up to around the 20p level very quickly.

The volatility can be unnerving, though the fact that RTD is being traded in this way shows that there is confidence that buyers will always return at the right price.

I think I have posted this soemwhere else. But what exactly is a T Trade. Who is protected. Can any one do this.

The Other Kevin - 13 May 2004 15:19 - 1158 of 2406

T trades are trades with extended settlements over and above the normal T+3, giving the trader an opportunity to close a position without parting with any money. The broker will charge a premium for this service.

Thank you.

robstuff - 14 May 2004 09:59 - 1160 of 2406

T trades I think are protected transactions which could be Institutional trading, not sure about the T+3 as i bought some on T+10 and it was shown as an ordinary buy. These now look stupendously cheap compared with other tech stocks - at p/e 12 and 1.5x sales. I do think this is excellent opportunity and have bought more as they should do well on interims very soon.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 14 May 2004 10:04 - 1161 of 2406

rob,

there is a slight difference here when a T is posted next to a trade as it goes througf that is the trade type and in this case a protected transaction.

When you refer to T+ trades, this is not an abbreviated trade type this is the time before settlement.

For example if you bought some shares on T + 10 (trade + 10) this means that you would not have to pay for those shares for 10 days after the transaction.

Regards

Ian

well pulled back a bit

overgrowth - 18 May 2004 23:43 - 1166 of 2406

RTD held well today in the face of shorters who are still trying to eke out the last bit of downward leeway. When you start to see the "3p soon" messages appearing, you know that there's a bounce coming very soon.

apple - 19 May 2004 10:38 - 1167 of 2406

It may be time to get back in again.

Douggie - 19 May 2004 12:53 - 1168 of 2406

overgrowth.."3p soon" ? can/will you explain please.

Fundamentalist - 19 May 2004 13:04 - 1169 of 2406

I assume he is referring to a poster on ADVFN called M&C who has just forecast 3p. He has been proved very wrong on both RTD and NSB over the past eighteen months and his comments are being interpreted as a buy signal!!!!!

Douggie - 19 May 2004 13:43 - 1170 of 2406

thanks Fund't. .... still had price reduction when trades at buy/sell= 5/3 ???

Fred1new - 19 May 2004 14:29 - 1171 of 2406

has anybody notice the similarity in the graphs for RTD, TFC and BPRG. ARE THE SAME PEOPLE PLAYIN THIS SHARE.

Fundamentalist - 19 May 2004 15:42 - 1172 of 2406

Fred

Add NSB to your list.

From reading various bulletin boards there are a lot of people either holding all or most of these and/or short term trading them.

IMHO I believe they are all shares which had very healthy rises early in the year and have subsequently been targetted by the shorters. May be wrong but there certainly appears a trend!!!!

apple - 19 May 2004 15:47 - 1173 of 2406

Fundamentalist

I think you are right but we must be near their target levels now so when they have finished then we should see these shares get some legs & recover substantially.

Fundamentalist - 19 May 2004 17:08 - 1174 of 2406

Apple

Lets hope so. 16p appears to be quite a strong area of support and volumes have now decreased substantially. I am expecting these to star rising again as we get nearer to the interims.
