Same here Beeble...

I had a limit sell in at 1:8018..on FXCM
never got filled only indicated 1:8016
then got stopped out lower down

Tentative long at the lows

Cloggs - 05 May 2004 12:21 - 1163 of 11056

Looks like 17930 is fairly good support, so long again.

Cloggs - 05 May 2004 12:32 - 1164 of 11056

Me & my big mouth go stopped out at 17925

foale - 05 May 2004 12:42 - 1165 of 11056

5 point stop...

Does that include the 4 point spread?

Paulismyname - 05 May 2004 13:08 - 1166 of 11056

.

foale - 05 May 2004 13:29 - 1167 of 11056

Paul...this is the FX thread

may I direct you to the more appropriate "traders thread"

Paulismyname - 05 May 2004 13:33 - 1168 of 11056

ah yes I see, sorry foale genuine error wrong thread

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 13:37 - 1169 of 11056

i used to be indecisive,
but now i'm not so sure......

still long from 179.42,
and dithering

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 13:39 - 1170 of 11056

hmmmm. think the americans are
buying a bit.....
didn't like it below 179 either

hilary - 05 May 2004 13:47 - 1171 of 11056

Beebs,

Fwiw, I think you should still be long for now. Maybe with a stop on a move below that low of about 20 minutes ago?????

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 13:47 - 1172 of 11056

50 pips in 5 mins
beats ftse watching...

tks doll - like to hold your hand....

foale - 05 May 2004 13:56 - 1173 of 11056

I was surprised by the fall....
sometimes you get it wrong but you can rationalise why...

I suppose...18000 big figure
resistance at 18025
Bllomberg MPC person Beeble mentioned

even so ...was a lot more than profit taking imo...
and dammed annoying to miss my target by 2 pips

It was all going so well..........Hilary you got another hand

hilary - 05 May 2004 13:56 - 1174 of 11056

Beebs,

I also happen to think that this could be a no-brainer big time short tomorrow ahead of the MPC ....... 50 base points means up ....... 25 base points down ......... and no change means curtains for 300 pips plus. Imho of course.

Btw, if you want to hold my hand it'll cost you a ticket fror Chelsea -v- Monaco tonight. I've got 3 tickets and need 4 ...... at the moment I've drawn the short straw and can only watch on TV.

:o(

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 13:58 - 1175 of 11056

once the hands all get taken
i get the choice on the other bits
ok team - is that understood ?

yup, agree hils.
plan was for a run up to say 181-182 pre announcement,
still think it's 65% for .25%, 25% no change, and 10% for .5

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 14:02 - 1176 of 11056

does this mean your home alone ?

i'll bring a bottle......

foale - 05 May 2004 14:13 - 1177 of 11056

MPC dont have the balls for 1/2% rises
1/4% on two consecutive monthly meetings is
as agressive as they will get....

and 1/2% based on no real inflation threat is not justified

80% 1/4%
20% no change

so based on Hilarys post above..I had better not be long over the figures
Now if we can just get to 1.8000 again before that to give me a good short entry point

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 15:29 - 1178 of 11056

stopped out -46

hilary - 05 May 2004 15:59 - 1179 of 11056

It's starting to look bear ugly all of a sudden. Nonetheless, I'm still tempted to leave it until the morning before shorting it in the hope that the Asians might push it up a bit overnight.

Beeblebrox - 05 May 2004 16:24 - 1180 of 11056

inclined to agree - bit more upside to come yet.
i'm not thinking about the short side till we get to c182ish

Tellon - 05 May 2004 18:01 - 1181 of 11056

If you look at an hourly chart over 30days. I think you can see the upside is done.

If you run a line accross the highs 1.8 is the top of the trend from the peak.
