RTD - Why? (RTD)

Nitefly - 15 Sep 2003 10:55

Why are we again at 10.5p bid?

It doesn't add up...

Good Results + Strong buying pre results + Christmas online buying soon = Price drop

Then again some companies that have debt for equity hanging in the balance, poor results and bankruptcy around the corner and they go up!

Why sell now at a loss?

Wont that be a kick in the teeth when we see 13.5p 14p again!

Best of luck all.

has anybody notice the similarity in the graphs for RTD, TFC and BPRG. ARE THE SAME PEOPLE PLAYIN THIS SHARE.

Fundamentalist - 19 May 2004 15:42 - 1172 of 2406

Fred

Add NSB to your list.

From reading various bulletin boards there are a lot of people either holding all or most of these and/or short term trading them.

IMHO I believe they are all shares which had very healthy rises early in the year and have subsequently been targetted by the shorters. May be wrong but there certainly appears a trend!!!!

apple - 19 May 2004 15:47 - 1173 of 2406

Fundamentalist

I think you are right but we must be near their target levels now so when they have finished then we should see these shares get some legs & recover substantially.

Fundamentalist - 19 May 2004 17:08 - 1174 of 2406

Apple

Lets hope so. 16p appears to be quite a strong area of support and volumes have now decreased substantially. I am expecting these to star rising again as we get nearer to the interims.

overgrowth - 19 May 2004 23:41 - 1175 of 2406

Douggie, Sorry for the delayed response - been out all day, though unfortunately not in the sun :-(

Fundamentalist was able to read my mind anyway.

All we need now is someone to read Carl Clump's mind to see what juicy contracts are due to be signed!

Douggie - 20 May 2004 00:34 - 1176 of 2406

:o))....thanks overgrowth, Fundamentalist, fingers xxxxd for speedy return to mid 20s. mm's seem kindly disposed to RTD, most days open blue, pity it can't be held.it's said anticipation better than !!! well I'v had enough

amardev - 22 May 2004 00:03 - 1177 of 2406

Greetings to all RTD holders.
And especially to Douggie......... keep your chin up pal.
Now is not the time to throw in the towel.
I've been trading in/out of this stock over the last 8 months.
Some good trades, others bad.
You can't get the timing right every time.

Anyway, I think we're in for a breakout, in an upward direction, very soon.

Keep posting.

Javed, would like to read you're thoughts too.

Regards

Amar

RTD tipped by Edmond Jackson in D.Telegraph today.

Fundamentalist - 22 May 2004 14:48 - 1179 of 2406

Todays telegraph Questor column. Not a particularly accurate view of recent events, but positve in the main.

Retail Decisions' rally in the cards

Bid speculation has helped technology tiddler Retail Decisions pull off a modest recovery in recent months. The shares, which crashed to 2.25p last year, after hitting 361p during the internet boom, were back up at 16.75p this week.

The speculation began when institutions started picking up shares in the group, which is chaired by former Kingfisher director Nigel Whittaker, and has a market capitalisation of just under 50m.

The company's cash cow is a business in Australia which issues fuel cards that corporates give to their on-the-road salesmen to prevent dubious expense claims.

Profits from Down Under help to fund the company's other operation, which is where the real growth potential comes in. This unit supplies clever software that allows retailers to conduct a host of checks on card transactions, such as whether a card has been cloned.

The biggest threat to Retail Decisions is the introduction of "chip and pin" technology which aims to cut fraud by making card-users enter a identification number - this could affect the group's deals with the big stores.

However, the increasing use of credit cards over the internet and telephone will keep demand for the company's kit high. "Card not present" fraud is growing rapidly, at 25pc a year in the case of internet transactions, and businesses are under increasing pressure to protect against it.

Oriel Securities, Retail Decisions' house broker, forecasts that profits will rise to 6.8m this year. That puts the shares on a forward multiple of 11. Worth a look

Any tips are good news so we should be in for a blue week next week.

Hope you didn't bottle out and sell Douggie, it could turn out to be one of those "kick yourself" decisions.

Analysts seem to be becoming more positive about the overall outlook for shares towards the end of this week, so we could see plenty of general market upside next week also.

Douggie - 24 May 2004 08:36 - 1181 of 2406

Douggie

Definitely time you took another holiday my friend. It appears theyre having real fun with this one still (unless there is something going on we are not party too!!!). looks like the pain is going to continue until we get some news to stop it and it looks like that will be the half year trading update and then interims, the trading update should be 1st week in July.

Continuing to hold for the long term.

apple - 26 May 2004 19:00 - 1184 of 2406

I think that there may have been another director buy today.

26/05/04 10:14 16.7 721,448 O 16.25 16.75 Buy

120,000 worth of shares.

overgrowth - 26 May 2004 21:57 - 1185 of 2406

Things certainly look healthier today, another rise tomorrow and the "Friday special" will do nicely..

Douggie - 01 Jun 2004 12:40 - 1186 of 2406

not a lot of interest here trade or post,...;~[

Fundamentalist - 01 Jun 2004 13:29 - 1187 of 2406

Douggie

Just sitting and waiting on this one - it will come good but is going to need news to do so. Hopefully that will be a trading update at the start of next month.

Happy to hold and wait for the long term

pachandl - 01 Jun 2004 13:47 - 1188 of 2406

16p still holding as a low-point resistance level. Agreed that trading update is crucial, esp. as it would provide some detail about the effect of petrol prices in Australia on earnings, and perhaps even give some further indication on on-line company take up of RTD products. Keeping fingers crossed.

Fundamentalist - 02 Jun 2004 21:20 - 1189 of 2406

Interesting programme on BBC 1 - hot plastic - started at 9pm. All about credit card fraud - not directly linked to RTD but interesting all the same and will raise the awareness off cc fraud.

barnymam - 03 Jun 2004 05:47 - 1190 of 2406

After RTD's recent attempt to get back to 20p, which failed with no support and the present holding at 16p - IMO there is a strong chance of testing the 14p support level in June.
