Handicap dont know about that a few weeks ago was we going to war or not, would it be long or or short, would the markets like it or not. now the war is over we won and now will come a short bull run if some big companies release good figures and say order books have picked up and increase estimated earnings then we will go on a longer bull run so now time to cut most shorts and pick out the ones to go long on.

Good evening.

Visited the dogs home tonight, they have no golden retrievers at present.
Said if they come across one smelling of cheap bitter they would phone.

little woman - 15 Apr 2003 07:54 - 1174 of 23498

Good morning all,

Just poping in for a quick cup of coffee before disappearing off "to make my daily bread". Not sure when I'll be able to pop back, but will try and sneak a look to keep track at what's happening over the next few days until I'm free again.

Bolddog - 15 Apr 2003 10:15 - 1175 of 23498

Socs : I fell through the back of a wardrobe at the end of last week and found myself surrounded by bottles. It took me to Monday to drink my way out. Could I have been in "The Locked Room" ?

Hilary : I'm such an unreliable poster that I suspect that I wouldnt Keep Up in the comp. ( and in true Bolddog style end up bringing the game into disrepute 8-)) )

Please everyone tell me I'm wrong, but I see the next few years for Western Europe being marked by systemic failure of small companies ( Oh Yes ! Bolddog is in a right jolly mood today ).

Ursidae - 15 Apr 2003 10:57 - 1176 of 23498

Vasey,

re 1168; "...... and of course, they start with the full 50k. (Hilary is such a softee. I'd have given them a handicap!)"

I can assure you that I am quite capable of giving myself a handicap! It shouldn't be impossible for me to turn 50K into 30K in double quick time ;-)

vasey - 15 Apr 2003 11:32 - 1177 of 23498

... and I was about to offer to give you a handicap myself! Rats...!

Socrates - 15 Apr 2003 20:03 - 1178 of 23498

8 Ball - 15 Apr 2003 22:29 - 1183 of 23498

Jeff

I would have gone but as you see the 3rd pic, only bald people allowed.
Hope they were all men? only could see one woman, looked like her husband had made her go.
They are the pair in striped his and hers jumpers.

On a second look I can see one other female in there.......

jeffmack - 15 Apr 2003 22:41 - 1184 of 23498

LOL, I've still got all my own hair. I quite liked that jumper...

8 Ball - 15 Apr 2003 22:50 - 1185 of 23498

His or hers........

I bet her mother knitted them for xmas.

Socrates - 16 Apr 2003 17:59 - 1186 of 23498

Good grief, nobody's washed up! I spend all day at the workhouse and come in for my dinner and the place is a mess. Oh well, you can't get the staff these days. I suppose it will have to be haggis and chips again.

hightone - 16 Apr 2003 22:06 - 1187 of 23498

Na just have me malt then

HT.

Socrates - 16 Apr 2003 22:18 - 1188 of 23498

You and your malt! What's your favourite then?

Ursidae - 16 Apr 2003 22:25 - 1189 of 23498

I used to wash up ............... @ a Little Chef! 25p/hr, 50p/hr on Bank hol's .... three times the work for twice the pay! Got promoted though, to waiting at tables ....... I took the order and they waited!!! My career was abruptly halted when I got the sack .... is there a vacancy in the Tea Rooms? Can send my CV if req'd although my rate has gone up since then. Wouldn't get out of bed for less than 75p/hr these days.

jgp212 - 16 Apr 2003 23:03 - 1190 of 23498

Hic!!!

:-)

Jeff

Socrates - 17 Apr 2003 16:43 - 1191 of 23498

Ursidae
Haven't you heard of the minimum wage? Tea Rooms pays 5 per hour plus t1ps. Mind you, most would not do it for less than 500 per hour, have you seen some of the reprobates we get in here?

Happy Easter everyone. I'll be about if anyone wants the odd bacon butty. I use chicken, that's why it's an odd bacon butty.
