Well its going to be one hell of a birthday - one way or the other

Thats my timescale too, Bugz. Still think the announcement this week, if any, will be an anticlimax to the rumours, but the steady build of news and strategy points to a gently rising sp over winter, as people realise that it is a potentially big player, but it will not happen overnight.

Whether the US issue is cleared up or not, is indeed unclear, and will stay like that. I'd be very suprised if the actual date of the announcementm leaked, however its coming. Still stand by the sp breaching 30p before xmas-whether it will stay there one can't say.

Whats your feelings on any announement this week Alan? US Starpol FDA Approval?

Greyhound - 18 Oct 2005 10:24 - 11759 of 27111

Personally I'm not expecting any announcement this week, but perhaps a better indication of direction and focus for the future.

oblomov - 18 Oct 2005 10:27 - 11760 of 27111

I'm out like Sham - nice few days, but heavy resistance once it hit 18p.

Looking for a fall back to 14-16 p now.

hewittalan6 - 18 Oct 2005 10:30 - 11761 of 27111

No, I think the FDA are notoriously slow and that may be quite a while. The FDA is very depatmentalized, with approval for pizzas (for example) coming from different departments depending on the topping!!
I think we will see an announcement along the lines of co-operation with WM or another major retailer, and perhaps a new avenue that Starpol is exploring in the non-food sector.
I keep saying that I think Greenseal will be a sideshow in future years as Starpol has the potential to be used for just about any consumable product you care to mention, not just for packaging food. Sounding a bit like PM1 here but the ciggy packet I just opened and the disposable razor I just used could so easily be starpol for the cellophane and blade holder, as well as starpol for the razor body and razor packet.
As for the price by xmas, I hope you are right, but even in the heady days of a 28pps sp I was cautious about the 50pps party everyone wanted (as the posts show).
If the RNS, when and if it comes, just says working with or co-operating, then I think the sp will basically stay flat for some considerable time. If we see new avenues being explored, then 25pps by xmas would seem reasonable.
For the big numbers, 2007 springs to mind.

I've just read my last post and it's like one of those bloody weather reports. You know the type; A warm day, chilly in places but remaining dry where it doesn't rain.
Frankly, I haven't got as bloody clue. God I talk some rubbish sometimes!!

bhunt1910 - 18 Oct 2005 10:34 - 11763 of 27111

My thinking parallels yours Alan - but with perhaps a slight more emphasis on Green seal.

My timelines are similar to yours - with anything sooner a bonus.

I wish you hadn't just added that lat posting Alan - especially as I seem to agree with you !!!!

Bugz - 18 Oct 2005 10:37 - 11764 of 27111

I dont think thats an unfair sum up of the situation actually Alan.

I do though feel that any co-operation release from the US will boot the sp a little higher, simply because this share has had so much exposure and speculation-previous holders are going to jump back in as they did back at the end of spring. Well, thats what I'm hoping so I can make some ! ;-)

I totally agree with the Starpol possibilities-I first came on board simply due to the Greenseal technology, and when Starpol popped its head up, I almost burst! It really has massive potential. I mean look at it-its the holy grail of landfill issues! No more horrible images of birds being choaked by plastic beer rings etc!

BUT, as some advocat on here, there is competition. Lets just hope SEO have manovered into the right position.

Bugz - 18 Oct 2005 10:39 - 11765 of 27111

LIKEWISE BAZA! Lol-ing around..... :-)

hewittalan6 - 18 Oct 2005 10:44 - 11766 of 27111

Bugz,
Thats where I think Greenseal fits in the pattern. The difficult part is getting in with a large end user. Ask anyone in sales, the appointment is the toughy and SEO have shown they are capable of that. If Greenseal does exactly what it says on the tin, then ASDA and WM are more prepared to listen to other ideas, and SEO have a direct line to them. If they can get them to use Starpol for the RF machines, then it is no longer a case of getting them to try a new technology and order something that they are unsure about, it is about selling them a use for an existing supply and simple economies of scale will make it more attractive still. If I could take a financial position on Starpol being SEO's cashcow 2 years from now than I would certainly do that. SEo have been cuter than the credit they have been given for the way they have drawn retailers and processors in.
Alan

Bugz - 18 Oct 2005 10:49 - 11767 of 27111

Alan

The only issue Re: Starpol combined with Greenseal is that, for example on the presently converted Greenseal machines at ASDA, they are going to have to re-fit them AGAIN to handle Starpol. This is the real reason that things have been going slower over in the US than I expected. If a company, like Walmart, wants to change over to both, there is no point doing two separate conversions of the same machines. Howard is pushing for this strongly-he wants one conversion, rather than having to try and sell Starpol all over agin.

hewittalan6 - 18 Oct 2005 10:55 - 11768 of 27111

Gotta say, though. The share is somewhat more active today than I expected. I thought it would be quite quiet, until an RNS came, or was obviously not coming.
Guess it must be the borson brigade that Boz and Baza were predicting.

bhunt1910 - 18 Oct 2005 10:58 - 11769 of 27111

Yes good volumes already - and not even half way through - almost 12m traded

bosley - 18 Oct 2005 10:59 - 11770 of 27111

bugz, i'm fairly certain i read that there doesn't have to be any further conversions to accomodate starpol.

driver - 18 Oct 2005 11:02 - 11771 of 27111

bos
I think you are right the sealing machines wouldn't know if the trays were made from starpol or not they only process the lids not make the trays.

bhunt1910 - 18 Oct 2005 11:02 - 11772 of 27111

Interesting that the resistance seems to have me;lted somewhat (at the moment) with

2:4 at 17.5 : 18 and 200k to 400k

only 25k at 18.25 and 325k @ 18.5

Cazash - 18 Oct 2005 11:05 - 11773 of 27111

bhunt - can you explain something for me - i'm just 'dipping into' several different shares, and notice lots of notes on trading figures (which I guess you are getting from Level 2)

what do they actually mean.

sorry for playing 'dumb blonde!!' but am interested to know...

thanks
caz

We also don't know what is being talked about behind closed doors across the pond, whether or not any announcement is imminent.

lindos - 18 Oct 2005 11:07 - 11775 of 27111

Do you think there will be any interst after 1pm from across the pond?
May be sneak previews?

would be nice
