Bos
I see what you mean.
To make any sense of what precedes the last paragraph, I supppose you have to take it to mean that NW are delighted that Stanelco are putting their PLA to such good use, and that they are pleased that it adds to the general end uses of NW's PLA based materials ( that aren't necessarily all supplied by NW themselves ) !!
The one thing I do notice from re-reading the RNS, is that they are not just talking about Greenseal uses of Starpol. They also mention carrier bags as well as other types of bags. If i'm right about the main difference between Starpol and PLA being the formers RF compatability, then Starpols mention in relation to these bags implies that RF would be used in the bags manufacture.
We'll no doubt know more in the coming weeks and months.
Cheers

Only joking
I think there is a steady buyer behind the scenes at 17.5.
Every time a 25000 offer comes up at 17.5 - it quickly diappears - without showing up as an AT trade - this has happened 5 times that I have spotted in the last 30 minutes ??

Back from the dentist.
Gone 2'o'clock and no RNS. The day trippers are getting back on their coaches to go home and the price goes back to the start. To be expected I suppose. Tomorrow may well do the same.

Statement Regarding French Government Decision to Eliminate All Non-Biodegradable
Plastic Bags by January 2010
Stanelco PLC (LSE:SEO), the RF (radio frequency)
applications group, and SP Metal, the leading European manufacturer of
household packaging products, who are joint owners of Biotec Holdings
GmbH and subsidiaries ("Biotec"), welcome the French Government's
decision to eliminate all non-biodegradable plastic bags by January
2010.
Biotec has the capabilities to pioneer, innovate and commercialize
biodegradable plastic bags. With the support of its owners Stanelco
and SP Metal, Biotec is well placed to benefit from the policy and
will be able to gear up manufacturing and have the capability to meet
the demands of the French market by 2010, which will be in excess of
one million tons.
Biotec is one of the world's leading exponents of starch
technology for packaging materials. Biotec's film is suited for
applications where it replaces conventional plastics. The natural
starch used is one of the lowest cost biodegradable, compostable,
replenishable materials.
Howard White, Managing Director of Stanelco said: "We are
extremely pleased the French government has the courage to make this
groundbreaking decision. Until now there has been too much lip service
and political soundbites paid to discussing legislation supporting
environmentally responsible practices - and nothing meaningful has
been implemented."
"This is a way of being responsible to the environment while also
saving millions of barrels of oil, and now is the time for action.
Only legislation can make this happen."
"We have the capability and technology - all we require is the
incentive to implement it. We are very excited at the prospect of
developing and providing products to what will be a huge market."

Baza,
just (trying to) get to terms with level 2 and read your earlier post.
As a rough guide, is it reasonable to take it that if the number
of MM's with buy orders exceeds the number with sell orders, with no enourmous difference in shares on either side, that the likely trend in SP is up and vice versa (down) the greater the gap in numbers the other way?
i.e. for example, 6:1 is indicative of a price rise, but 1:6 a fall?
I've read the MAM guide (twice) - probably need to read it again!.

Oblo - normally I would agree - but SEO has over the last few days been sitting at 1:4 a couple of times - and the price has risen.
But normally - yes thats how I read it.
It is great for knowing when to buy or sell. If there are a stack of orders and 6 MM's with orders - you know that the price is going to stick there - but if only 1 and only a few shares - it normally moves and it is a good signal to get your order in
Good Luck

Driver, Baza, Bosley, or anyone!
Question of Starpol not needing machine conversions. I know pretty much sweet f.a. about the food packaging industry generally apart from Stanelco, however I was under the very strong impression that some sort of change had to made to accomodate Starpol-big enough to wait and do Starpol and Greenseal changes together.
Any information that says otherwise, other than peoples understanding?
