You and your malt! What's your favourite then?

Ursidae - 16 Apr 2003 22:25 - 1189 of 23498

I used to wash up ............... @ a Little Chef! 25p/hr, 50p/hr on Bank hol's .... three times the work for twice the pay! Got promoted though, to waiting at tables ....... I took the order and they waited!!! My career was abruptly halted when I got the sack .... is there a vacancy in the Tea Rooms? Can send my CV if req'd although my rate has gone up since then. Wouldn't get out of bed for less than 75p/hr these days.

Haven't you heard of the minimum wage? Tea Rooms pays 5 per hour plus t1ps. Mind you, most would not do it for less than 500 per hour, have you seen some of the reprobates we get in here?

Happy Easter everyone. I'll be about if anyone wants the odd bacon butty. I use chicken, that's why it's an odd bacon butty.

It's tomorrow already! Good morning all. I'm having a quiet day relaxing in the Cheltenham sunshine. Bring on the mint juleps!

8 Ball - 18 Apr 2003 21:22 - 1195 of 23498

Lovely day here spent in the garden trimming hedges.
Don't suppose it will last till I go back to work?

Socrates - 19 Apr 2003 09:45 - 1196 of 23498

8 Ball
Looks like it's just you and me against the world. Have you finished that hedge yet?

8 Ball - 19 Apr 2003 11:52 - 1197 of 23498

Yes thanks Socs, scars to prove it.

Trekking over the border for previsions today.

jeffmack - 19 Apr 2003 14:58 - 1198 of 23498

Afternoon All..no one

Dull day here in Kent, not much doing, taking it easy.

Socrates - 19 Apr 2003 15:18 - 1199 of 23498

Taking it easy is what weekends are for Jeff. Why don't you pop over to Manston and do some aeroplane spotting, keep the wiggies amused?

Socrates - 21 Apr 2003 14:26 - 1200 of 23498

OK, so that's another Easter Bank Holiday all over bar the traffic jams. There's a lot to be said for relaxing at home with regular cups of tea, glasses of whatever pleases you and good food. Nice drop of rain last night, thunder even woke me up!

jeffmack - 21 Apr 2003 15:21 - 1201 of 23498

You are easily pleased young Socs, a lot to be said for relaxing at home.

Socrates - 21 Apr 2003 16:21 - 1202 of 23498

Young Socs? It's no use trying to sweet talk me Jeff!

hightone - 21 Apr 2003 20:38 - 1203 of 23498

old odd socks sounds about right then.

HT.

Ursidae - 22 Apr 2003 15:00 - 1204 of 23498

Socrates,
The minimum wage .... in my dreams! Sorry for the late response but I no longer need a washing up job as I've spent the weekend on an intensive training course for my new position in the media.

Now what was it I had to say????? ..... oh yes, I remember ....

BIG ISSUE!.....BIG ISSUE!......

I'll leave some in the Tea Rooms for your perusal.

Has the proprietor still not turned up?

8 Ball - 22 Apr 2003 18:36 - 1205 of 23498

Good evening.

Another blue day, The 4000 mark is getting close.
Would be nice to see us break thru that point.

Socrates - 22 Apr 2003 19:09 - 1206 of 23498

Hello, it's the wild bunch in tonight! Evening 8'ers, DOW is up too, at the moment.
