Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting
in the middle of a goldmine!
This company through
their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full
advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year.
Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies
and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund
placements on behalf of the companies they represent.
|
|
On first sight, the
fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector
makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because
it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think
again!
DGT bring new companies
to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated"
on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company
is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk
of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies
must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring
income).
Because DGT also act
as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging
placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In
addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work,
they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may
need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash
to speed growth.
Current NOMADships:
28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000
per year)
Current on-going Brokerage
agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)
For flotations, depending
on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000
to 100,000+
For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12%
of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M
though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000
!
These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances
and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk
of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back
to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket.
Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge
and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another
healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation
means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for
years, with DGT having to do very little.

The 352352 buy was mine. I sold 10000 RTD to pay for them as I think short term, RTD has not got the growth potential of DGT. Any comments please?

I can't comment on the prospects of RTD, but following DGT interims, most of will be very disappointed not to see a SP in the region of 1.25p-1.50p next month. If RTD's SP is not expected to increase by 50%-100% in the next four weeks or so, you have probably made a wise decision. The longer term looks even more inviting, details are in the thread, but in a nutshell, increasing client base and possible acquisition of a brokering arm will propell DGT into a new arena.

Thanks for that PTH. Being fairly new to trading it's reassuring to know an experienced investor thinks I have made a good decision.

Still learning myself, so wouldn't class myself as an 'experienced investor', but the transparency of DGT's earnings have provided an unique insight into their growth potential and that of the SP. Always DYOR, remember BBs can be a very misleading place. However, this is an excellent thread, frequented by well informed investors.

Thanks for that OG. I do intend getting back into RTD when my existing investments reach my targets which I hope will not be long.

butane,
The trades screen decides what the trade has been based on the bid and offer when the bargain is struck the bid was 0.70 and the offer was 0.80 when your trade went through therefore the system interprets it as a sale. Please see disclaimer shown below from the trades page:
Disclaimer
All analysis on this trades page is intended only as a guide and its accuracy is not guaranteed. It should not be used for investment purposes.
It should be noted that all trade declarations made by the market do not include a buy or sell indicator and therefore we have to derive this information ourselves. The policy we have adopted is based on the mid price of the stock at the time of the declaration. For example, a trade declared at a price that is higher than the mid price at the time of declaration would be put in the buy column, a trade lower than the mid price would be put in the sell column. A trade which matches the mid price would be considered unknown. Please also note that the market can delay declaration of the trades for up to an hour in which case we will not make any assumptions and place that trade in the 'unknown' column. Please also note that many investors are able to buy and sell within the spread and also users of level 2 systems will actually be buying at the perceived sell price, these trades might therefore appear to be wrongly categorised.

Well done, WT; hope moneyplus joins us before it is 'too late'! Markusantonius; you need to concentrate a bit more on the fundamentals and not then be tempted to take a mere 25% profit! So get back in and hold with a review at 1.5p and not before, there's a good boy.
Still getting good sd jokes, I see - I particularly like the 'bono fido' one. I thought my own from the SEO thread was good, as I would, re sd dreaming of bones and 'n.b.SEO'. I'm afraid I've caught this Su Doku craze so am wondering what our intelligent doggy friend makes of that? Su 'dog'u is too obvious and not allowed.

Didn't Johnny Cash sing a song (if you can call that tuneless voice singing!) about a Dog Named Sue?
Is Su doku patented and who by? I'd like to buy some shares in that company whilst the craze lasts. I have been known to dabble myself and have to say I have not been defeated yet. I have heard of but not seen a hexadecimal 4X4 array version - would like a crack at one of those.
Of course, oriental scholars amongst you will know that in Japanese the 'u' after an 's' is practically silent - which perhaps suggests the way it should be correctly pronounced!

Welcome aboard.
Now all you need is to forget that you have them for a while, ride the rollercoaster and think of something nice and expensive that you would like in around a years time to alleviate the boardem.
Nothing more than two bedrooms though LOl, or Dogrooms in Sd's case
