Bulmers - Worth a Taste? (BULM)

Socrates - 26 Feb 2003 18:01

After five profit warnings, Bulmers is making steady progress. Must be appearing on steady risers screens by now and rumours in the press that the company might be sold. The Bulmer family might take some convincing but if the price were right?

Is there another holder out there to talk to?

Thanks, but I wasn't tipping so much as drawing attention for people to dtor, as it were. I am most definitely not qualified to give tips.

Interestingly, there is an article in todays Daily Mail talking about possible buyouts. Names mooted are CVC Partners a private equity company) or Cantrell & Cochrane (an Irish company).

The Bulmer family, as I understand it, have a controlling interest. Frankly I believe there would have to be a lot of cash on the table to swing them to sell. I've no doubt some were hit hard by the loss of the dividend, I know I was upset! I will watch BULM with interest. +7.5p today.

PS

You're right about sharecrazy.com

THE ONE TO WATH IS THE PREFERENCE SHARE WHICH MISSED ITS LAST PAYMENT BUT IS CUMULATIVE....SEE THE CHART AS TO HOW IT IS RECOVERING ..THERE COULD BE A NICE LITTLE EARNER IF THE COMPANY STABILISES AND RESUMES PAYMENTS EVEN IF IT IS IN A YEAR OR TWO WORTH KEEPING A CLOSE WAATCH ON

I think it's not so much cumulative but subjecta deferred dividend payment. Of course, after today, it's all a bit academic.

I shall watch and wait to see whether to take the SCTN paper or the cash. Nice jump today!
