ENGLANDS CHANCES IN EURO 2004??????????????????????????

daves dazzlers - 05 Jun 2004 16:53

I HE THERE BEATING ICELAND????????WHOPEEEEEEEEEEE.

scotinvestor - 07 Jun 2004 15:54 - 12 of 189

in your dreams Dil. Your prediction for this is like your share tips - crap.

England will lose to France for a start and even if they qualify for next round cos they play 2 duff teams, then they will lose the next round as they will be playing someone decent again.

English league is only good cos of all the foreigners in it ala Rangers and Celtic up here.
We cant get rid of the "ugly sisters" as we call them.

AdieH - 07 Jun 2004 15:55 - 13 of 189

Think england might get draw but stil finish 2nd hope i'm wrong love us to win the group. Live in hope.

Trix77 - 07 Jun 2004 16:11 - 14 of 189

"ugly sisters"

Phil & Gary Neville ??

bosley - 07 Jun 2004 16:31 - 15 of 189

put your money on italy . sure fire bet.great squad, players in form and european refs , so better decision making . and they have a point to prove after the debacle in korea.

Dil - 08 Jun 2004 00:26 - 16 of 189

Well scotinvestor your tip is only there because UEFA have no bottle. Cheating gits should have been kicked out.

PS I have never given one crap share tip ... just been unlucky on the odd occassion :-)

scotinvestor - 08 Jun 2004 10:40 - 17 of 189

Dil, its not my tip, just my preference.

As for cheating gits....well only one player is guilty of that so not sure why whole team should suffer.

And we all know that every national team cheats in one way or other these days...........diving, play acting etc.

If you support a wee team either in England or SCotland, then you will probably still see true honest guys that play for the love of the game, albeit the quality is poorer but i prefer watching them as they r honest

brianboru - 08 Jun 2004 12:25 - 18 of 189

Spot on Scotinvestor - BSB and it's money have done the game no favours IMO - just enriched a few, mainly overseas players, with bent soccer managment taking their cut as well!

Almost every Yorkshire team has been bankrupted and all the money the fans input pissed away! But at least now most of the teams are back to playing British players.

scotinvestor - 08 Jun 2004 12:46 - 19 of 189

You also mention UEFA, Dil

UEFA, FIFA etc have also ruined the game in modern times with all the different rule changes. Does anyone know what the offside rule is these days. If so, how come one team is given an offside goal and another one isnt.

I always find (whether in Italian, English or Scottish leagues!) that the bigger teams get almost everything, whether penalties given/not given, offside goals, players that should be sent off that aren't etc.

Yes, Brianboro u r right. All this money has made the game worse. But even some of the British players (albeit at the highest level) cheat by diving etc (ie. Michael Owen)

daves dazzlers - 08 Jun 2004 13:17 - 20 of 189

SPOT ON SCOTY,,I`AM A LIVERPOOL FAN ,,AND GO TO THE GAMES ,,AN WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT OWEN IS RIGHT..AS FOR FIFA/UEFA THERE A JOKE THERE SCARED OF THE FOOTBALL CLUBS,,IN CASE THEY GO THERE OWN WAY,AS THAY KEEP SAYING THEY WILL DO. THEY HAD A CHANCE TO SHINE AND DO THE RIGHT THING,IN THAT GAME WALES/RUSSIA,,,AND FAILED US ALL.

bosley - 08 Jun 2004 13:39 - 21 of 189

the bigger teams have always had better decisions . its the way it has always been ..... so no change there. if so many people are disillusioned with the modern game , then why do so many more people watch it? fifa get nothing but criticism , yet some of their rule changes have allowed football and footballers to flourish , i.e. the no pass back rule change ( older people will remember the dirges games became when keepers were allowed to pick up the ball from a back pass) and also trying to outlaw the tackle from behind . these kinds of rule changes have made the game more enjoyable to watch . as for the offside rule , its always been complicated and long may it continue to be so .truth be told , it can never be simple.as much as we all get caught up in the games , please remember, its only a game. ( yeah ! right!!!!) anyway,

FORZA ITALIA!!!!!!!

brianboru - 08 Jun 2004 19:01 - 22 of 189

I like both Italy and France so will put a fiver win on them each time they play with a fiver on an Italy/France final - Big gambler me ;-)

aevansdj - 08 Jun 2004 20:37 - 23 of 189

I think England will draw with France then it's all about not getting complacent against the Swiss & Croats. Then it's a case of anything can happen in the knockout games.
Personally I like the look of the Italians as they never concede too many goals and have a bit of grit & guile.Del perio & Totti will be the ones everyone looks to but I think Cassano of Roma could be a future star if he gets a look in.

Dil - 08 Jun 2004 20:43 - 24 of 189

When Dwayne Chambers? tested positive the whole British relay team were stripped of their medals. UEFA missed a golden opportunity to send out a zero tolerance to drug cheats when they allowed Russia to keep their place imo scotinvestor.

Still think England will win but can't really see me cheering them on.

Seine - 08 Jun 2004 22:43 - 25 of 189

beckham's tatoo is a bad sign!hope he will be a sub...nto for a cap!
Owen may shine again, as he is a better cheater than maradona!

pd4wcuf - 09 Jun 2004 15:59 - 26 of 189

They're all a bunch of cheating B*!"rd&

daves dazzlers - 09 Jun 2004 16:36 - 27 of 189

to,right,but rich cheating b******s

gallick - 09 Jun 2004 18:39 - 28 of 189

I understand that 1/3rd of Scots will be supporting England...amazing.

Footballers do cheat, but surely it is up to the refs to punish them. Also in my view they should hand out yellow and red cards after the match once a second official has looked at TV replays and discovered cheating (this could lead to bans/ players missing future matches). Admittedly it is not much good giving a subsequent red card to a player who was in the final (I don't think they will be too worried about missing a qualifying game for the next world cup)!!

brianboru - 10 Jun 2004 00:30 - 29 of 189

"I understand that 1/3rd of Scots will be supporting England...amazing."

Never! Someones talking complete bollocks to you. No self respecting Scot would dream of supporting the bloody Sassenachs. You didn'i buy any snake oil fray this guy, did yea?

scotinvestor - 10 Jun 2004 13:03 - 30 of 189

Gallick, your statement comes from a recent article. However it states that about 1/3 of scotland will be supporting england. However, up here the recent figures say that 18% of Scotland is populated by English. So maybe they asked all the english guys in the survey, lol.

Sassenach.........well i'm actually one. A sassenach is someone from the lower parts of Scotland (under the highland line roughly)

pd4wcuf - 10 Jun 2004 13:13 - 31 of 189

Up yours English boy!!!
