Ideal Shopping - Anyone out there? (IDS)

andysmith - 03 Sep 2004 18:10

This company seems to be undiscovered by many. Brokers are forecasting EPS >15p for 2005 which even at modest PE of 10 makes an attractive buying opportunity at 84p. I have bought twice and am sitting and waiting hoping this will take off but if shares are good enough for Director Jim Hodkinson things must be on the up. As a prisoner of the missus TV shopping I can see why they should be successful. Most people think QVC when TV shopping but Ideal will certainly appeal more to the masses and now on Freeview things could further improve.
Take a look yourselves but I see chance to double your money at least!

Still time to get in here before Christmas and the year end, expect a strong performance and the same with the sp in the run up to the finals when it is predicted to pay a maiden dividend. With the recent 40% rise in sp, after some inevitable profit taking it has held up.
After earlier cynicism from snip/new fool, I'm glad the missus watches this, glad I bought the shares and with decent management hopefully push on past 150p and towards 200p please!!

andysmith - 29 Oct 2004 08:49 - 13 of 40

Clearly people are out there and spending their money through TV Shopping.
Nice to get one right, confirms my culture change theories driving this and the likes of ASC (wish I'd bought at 27p earlier!!). Also think will drive YOO.
Just about enough time to get in at IDS ahead of institutions and I still think heading to 200p.

Jules - 29 Oct 2004 08:53 - 14 of 40

andy, have also been with IDS.
I do think however that quite a few institutions are already in it but they do expect much more.
ASC....plently more to come!!

chartist2004 - 31 Oct 2004 11:36 - 15 of 40

Just spotted this one (ok I'm a yr late!) up 270% this yr with no profit , exept to make 3m next time, one to watch me thinks....

willfagg - 30 Nov 2004 14:28 - 16 of 40

why the big drop today? anyone know a reason.

dengsy - 30 Nov 2004 17:33 - 17 of 40

have no idea...but 47,588 shares were sold during the day, only around over 5000 shares were bought...wondering what's happening...

andysmith - 06 Jan 2005 21:30 - 18 of 40

Oh the joy of getting one right with well over 100% profit and marching towards 200%. Can't wait for results on 2nd March when IDS profits >4m expected or>EPS13. Still room for this one to grow further, 2.50 after results.
Don't want to gloat but its nice to look back at the responses to my first posting, unwanted goods and shares, YOU WERE WRONG FOLKS.
Still got the missus and the shares and all doing well thanks.
As I said IDS appeals to the general public and will continue to grow as will theirs and my profits.

capa - 10 Jan 2005 09:57 - 19 of 40

well done andy, I got in after that Christmas trading statement and am also looking forward to March results.

Well done Andy, BTW, tipped by online tip site The Share Weekly on friday.

capa - 10 Jan 2005 16:45 - 21 of 40

that 76,000 buy at the end is pretty impressive

Surprised no posts here today.

Great results, bundles of cash, maiden dividend and positive outlook.

Amazingly despite all the above the share price rises :-)

There was a short tree-shake first thing and thenmove upwards.
Interesting the 9m sells today, 1/3rd of available shares, what is going on?

capa - 02 Mar 2005 13:35 - 24 of 40

4,500,000 director sales. Majority of which were placed, nothing to get worried about imo.

Capa, Took out 40% of my holding at 150% profit, covering my stake +10% profit leaving the rest as freebies to watch and see what happens. Just thought it time to bank some profit before the Summer and I needed some dosh to do other things. Glad to have some profit and glad to still be in IDS which might be 3 by the year end? I too can't understand the lack of interest here, I was almost laughed down when I started this thread, so I'm laughing now with profit already banked and 1.5times my stake still in this holding!!!!!

capa - 03 Mar 2005 09:03 - 26 of 40

Well done Andy can't fault you. I am in since just below 2.00 and added a couple of times from there, 3 my target.

best of luck

This is not a good share to be involved in and you may well be in for some bad news shortly. My advice is to sell up ASAP!!!

andysmith - 28 May 2005 11:20 - 28 of 40

Why do you say that then pro???
For info I sold mine a month or so back at 237p.

Seems like a good time to buy both, based on his success with AXM.

LOL

andysmith - 28 May 2005 19:39 - 30 of 40

I had a good run with IDS Pete, almost 200% profit and if you read the responses to my setting up this thread, those folk havn't been able to comeback and graciously say they were wrong. With the twats at No 10 & No 11 and the BOE restricting cash to middle England and IDS going 37p past my target I took the profits and gave some to the missus to go shopping.
Still think IDS can improve further but you can't keep them all forever, its only a profit when you bank it.

wa157te - 29 May 2005 08:20 - 31 of 40

Why are you so afraid of bad news???
Pull that wool from over your eyes which Kivver and others have put there. This share is a dog with fleas and has never been worth any attention. You should sell now before the bad news hits the fan - or your pocket will feel the pinch!!!
