Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

rawdm999 - 01 Jul 2009 15:30 - 1207 of 6906

LOL. I'm not going through its adjectives (nor the adjectives of its adjectives) until I find the one you're thinking of. You obviously have more spare time than I. Simply used the word at face value. I'm finding you quite humerous since you lost the plot.

Fred1new - 01 Jul 2009 16:34 - 1208 of 6906

Raw, I will take you seriously for a moment. Going back to the thread's initial intentions, did you look at the following?

Back to Gaza. You can see why the Arabs hate the Israelis. They certainly have some justifications.

I find it strange how a "race or religious group" which claims it was abused, cannot see that its leaders are being abusive to another race.

Also, how some jump to the defence of the abusers claiming that others are wrong to think in that way.

Isaacs - 01 Jul 2009 16:39 - 1211 of 6906

Of course you could also say - "You can can see why the Israelis hate the Arabs. They certainly have some justifications." or perhaps more fairly "You can see why the Israelis and Arabs hate eachother. They certainly both have some justifications." Not much chance of that though.

tyketto - 01 Jul 2009 17:11 - 1212 of 6906

Raw.
Like your spelling "mistake" :-)

Fred1new - 01 Jul 2009 18:00 - 1213 of 6906

Isaacs, I accept your reframing.

Some of my wife's extended family are Croatian, some Bosnian, some Montenegrin, even some Polish, Hungarian and German influence. All get on very well together, help one another and very reasonable, until they start talking politics or about religious misdeeds. However the latter is unusual.

Very pleasant company, all good cooks and very generous. Different races, nationalities can live in harmony if their leaders would allow them to do so.

Similar, to what is happening in this country, some leaders seem to need to whip up public emotions for their own benefits

Bit like you then, Fred.

Fred1new - 02 Jul 2009 13:10 - 1215 of 6906

Not my interpretation.

Amnesty details Gaza 'war crimes'
Israel committed war crimes and carried out reckless attacks and acts of wanton destruction in its Gaza offensive, an independent human rights report says.

Hundreds of Palestinian civilians were killed using high-precision weapons, while others were shot at close range, the group Amnesty International says.

Its report also calls rocket attacks by Palestinian militants war crimes and accuses Hamas of endangering civilians.

Israel attributed civilian casualties to collateral damage in legitimate action

Isaacs - 02 Jul 2009 13:49 - 1216 of 6906

This is the story I saw which is a balanced headline. Typical BBC to portray it one way.

Amnesty accuses Israel and Hamas of war crimes

Isaacs - 02 Jul 2009 13:53 - 1217 of 6906

Mind you not sure I take Amnesty that seriously anyway. They think anything involving a war is a war crime.

Fred1new - 02 Jul 2009 14:36 - 1218 of 6906

Isaacs, Others seem to take Amnesty International seriously. Perhaps, your opinion is a minority one, or just head in the sand again.

I find the Israeli propaganda spokesman, when answering question and trying to defend Israeli action in Gaza, seems to be becoming more a more embarrassed by himself.

Now we have the United nations and AA and other organisation codemn Israel and Gaza and Israel's Government go deeper and deeper into the bunker.

The one thing which may be produced from this latest exposure, is the possible reduction in armaments to both sides of the conflict.

I was told that funding of Israel by Americans "Israelis" is beginning to dry up!

Changes may occur.

Isaacs - 02 Jul 2009 14:45 - 1219 of 6906

That would certainly be good. Things might get a little calmer if Palestinians don't have any rockets to fire at Israel. Believe it when I see it though.

Fred1new - 02 Jul 2009 15:19 - 1220 of 6906

Or Israelis grabbing land and having a siege of Gaza. Bit like Warsaw a little while ago.

"Oh will they never learn!"

mwoolgar - 02 Jul 2009 16:02 - 1221 of 6906

not bad for a shares chat room!!!!!!!

we have a thread of 1220 entries that are debating the rights of Israel protecting themselves against Palestinian terrorists

should this type of debate be somewhere else?

Fred1new - 02 Jul 2009 17:20 - 1222 of 6906

Why, We have a Rugby thread and a thread for the round ball game. A talk to yourself.

Is there something specific about this thread. Mind your positioning seems a little obvious.

Again, as has been previously stated, you are not forced to read the thread!

rawdm999 - 03 Jul 2009 09:47 - 1223 of 6906

'Perhaps, your opinion is a minority one,'. Maybe Isaacs hold the view of the silent majority. We don't know because they are silent.
Re. the shares chat room, a broader understanding of as much info. you can take on board can only help, indirectly. The thread need not be read.

edit - and as i've said before, i'm not jewish so i have no vested interest i just want to see balanced reporting.

Fred1new - 04 Jul 2009 16:26 - 1224 of 6906

Raw, this is your opportunity to shine. Let us read your opinion on the Gaza problem. Perhaps even a solution for those incarcerated in the area.

Big Al - 15 Jul 2009 08:59 - 1225 of 6906

Isreali soldiers speak out on Gaza

Makes for interesting reading and not unsurprising.
