for what it's worth, and i grant you the answer is probably, "Not a lot!", below see a summary from the MMA trades page for yesterday.
13/10/06 16:53 221.64 32,000 O 224.0 231.0 Total Buy 648,641 Total Sell 1,120,004 Unknown 160,341
so notwithstanding SOLA's strong performace yesterday, sells would seem to outnumber buys almost 2:1

Cynic - For someone who spotted SOLA before the crowd you can't be serious with your trade statistics can you ?
You know how they are calculated (aka "guessed at"), and the SP tells its own story.
Many a poster knows why this share is northbound, and whilst we've had a whole range of SP estimates (3 - 20 is what I've seen), they are all north of the current price - the fundies tell us all why.
Re:timing of a purchase - given the strenght of the trend you may well find that fine tuning a purchase isn't that necessary - one thing I've learnt over the years attempting the same and missing out on TFC, JCR and others

Flackwell .... i merely reported (copied and pasted) what shows on this site's trading info ...... i neither vouch for nor deride its accuracy ...... in fact sp does not tell its own story, other than the fact that it has risen for the last few days ...... that in itself does not at all prove the statistic i showed as being significantly wrong .... if, at the end of the day, i find i have missed out here, well so be it ..... i have also frequently missed out on selling when i should have done and suffered the consequences!

The momentum has continued into Monday morning ..... so much so that I bought a few more at 232p this morning !!!!
Had time to do more thorough research over the weekend and, quite frankly, cannot see much holding the SP back until we are well north of 300p.
Bit the bullet on SBT to pay for the top-up (at least there will be a big loss to offset the potential profits here for CGT purposes !!)

and prhaps i have missed the boat, though for sure nothing goes up in a straight line .... at least i didn't have any gambling stocks (not a dig, ian) which many thought to be the next super-sector

looks like i'll poison your drink when we get to meet ... lol!
will consider buying back at the psychological level of 200, but if Dow tumbling, perhaps dragging FTSE with it at that time, may hold out for lower.

promise you i too think SOLA is a damn good company ..... it's just that having taken a profit at 179, i have a psychological problem (don't all say it!!) buying back in when sp has bolted ...... i still genuinely suspect that sp will pull back when there is a general market correction (surely imminent), though it is anyone's guess where that will be to.

SOLA was down 3.7%
Interesting to see if the FTSE slide today will pull the DOW down this afternoon. If it does, then presumably we could see a further drop tomorrow in U.K. stocks.
Took profit today on SOLA, but will buy back in around the 200p mark (if it gets there!). 300p target easily achievable imo.

Harry .... back to front! .... Dow hit iits target and it's that that is propelling FTSE south
soul* ..... not likely! want to beat up the likes of you ... lol! ..... lest anyone should take us seriously .... no, i am not shorting, but would not be surprised to be able to pick up SOLA in the near future at a price i like, rather than one the market (or you guys!) like

Negative, cynic - I disagree & watched this very carefully.
DOW went up 20 points monday. FTSE then dropped tuesday morning & when the DOW opened p.m. U.K. time FTSE then dropped further, as did the DOW. The U.S. were waiting for inflation data, but the U.K. were profit taking before the drop came. Normally the reverse is true. The reason is that I was watching for the SOLA price to head down which triggered a sell for me.
Now the question is, when will the correction stop & the SOLA price start to increase again? My target is 200p but may have to adjust.

Very tricky. The DOW closed down 21 points, but was down 80 points at one time today. If the FTSE goes down again then I agree, 210 is probably the lowest SOLA will go on a bounce. But will the DOW go down again tomorrow afternoon?
