Suprised no one else commented on the little known fact that Greenseal can infact be "easy peel" as well as cut to open as NielsJensen mentioned in posts 12302 & 12303 (So good he said it twice). This had been rumour and speculation for months on this thread with no conclusive proof and there it was in the powerpoint presentation and only Neils picked up on it. Well done.
This is a huge plus and should be celebrated. I`ll except the sudden jump in SP at the end of the day as my way of celebration. Obe

Are you Neils wife?

lindos - 31 Oct 2005 17:17 - 12321 of 27111

From the presentation. T he cost of starpol 3000 is comparable to polypropylene. Am I get muddled or does this mean it is comparable to pertol based plastics ( if so didnt PM get banned for saying this)
Apologies if Im wrong
Lindos!

bhunt1910 - 31 Oct 2005 17:23 - 12322 of 27111

No he did not get banned for saying that specifically - but he did say it - but it was not backed up by the statement that was issued at the time - I suspect he already had the information which came out a few days later substantiating the fact that it would be as cheap - if not cheaper due to renrgotiated contracts and increased volumes

It does make you realise how good his research could be!!

bhunt1910 - 31 Oct 2005 17:32 - 12324 of 27111

His research is absolutely first class - its just that he does get carried away and sometimes he embelleshes the information with stuff that is not in the public domain and sometimes he exaggerates. Sometimes he is spot on

As always with Pauls material - it is a question of getting to know the guy and recognising the good stuff and seperating it from the fiction.

Except that he was quoting from an RNS at the time, and misquoted it by stating the exact opposite to what was in the RNS!

Slt Greekman . When BHunt told you were fired. he was not joking . Only variable left to discuss is whether the deed be done by Firing squad or literally by fire . .Your counsel in mitigation suggests because it is your first offence you should merely have your tongue ripped out....Something which a top city barrister QC on 3k an hour could ill afford i suppose. .... ,,, A Very similar case to BPRG and SEO was settled only last week . Punitive damages were minimal as no percuiary advantage had been made by the offending party ; but charges after 7 weeks of litigation ( virtually the same duration of SEO ) the costs amounted to in excess of $3 million .......,,,,,gulp ...........and now SEO want to incur more costs at the Court of Appeal . ,,,,,,bigger gulp ..BPRG are iinsured: SEO are not. Can any legal hack tell us of costs incurred at the High Court on a daily basis .Last l heard it was7 to 10k PER HOUR to run the damned places ... Or can we ask for time to pay like the crims >< ...No company irrespective of size . likes to watch 3m eaten up by additional operational legal costs . ..l fear those legal costs will come back to haunt us . SEO are spread very thin now. Finishing on a note of levity -- The American website...lol Probably the work of PM ......

lindos - 31 Oct 2005 18:22 - 12327 of 27111

If seo can now compete on price with petro plastics , the positives must heavily outweigh the negatives, very good news I think.

blinger - 31 Oct 2005 19:14 - 12328 of 27111

The more astute investors will note that the spread is nearly 5%, not a glad tiding for potential buyers.
This compamy will take years to break even.

blinger - 31 Oct 2005 20:23 - 12329 of 27111

Oblomov,
enable your mam messenger I have some news for you.

"A Very similar case to BPRG and SEO was settled only last week . Punitive damages were minimal as no percuiary advantage had been made by the offending party........"

Please state said case so that the more reasoned investor can establish its relevance.

I believe SEO are fully provided in their accounts for all legal costs to date(ergo ..irrelevant insurance debate).

Finishing on a note of levity.Wish this poster would use decent paragraphs.

I believe this was the post which prompted expectation of pre-close statement:

Just had this reply from Neville Harris at Stanelco...all reads good to me. I am sure he won't mind me posting it on here:

James, apologies for the delay in replying ...Monday was my first day back
from hols and I had to be out again all day yesterday.

We will certainly update the market more fully when we issue a pre-close
update, sometime around the end of this month (the year end is October)and
if there is anything material before then, of course we will let folk know.

We all feel generally that there is quite a lot of "shorting" going on in
the market, particularly over the last week and in the short-term there is
not a great deal we can do. In the meantime, the company is working out the
best way to proceed with the starch filters project and is pressing on with
both Greenseal and the other products out of the Biotec portfolio.

Everyone at the company is just as frustrated as you about the share price,
but until the profits start to flow through, we must accept that valuing
Stanelco is more art than science and this provides hedge funds etc with an
opportunity.

We are all trying to be patient, but some days it's not easy!!

stockdog - 31 Oct 2005 22:44 - 12332 of 27111

A pre-close update would normally be a few days after the end of the trading period in question - so sometime in the first week or so of November is when I would expect to see something, not by 31st October.

Biscuit - 31 Oct 2005 23:24 - 12333 of 27111

Stockdog, I think the release has to be before the end of the period as then the have the closed period up until the results are announced. I didn't think they were aloud to release anything pertaining to the last financial year between the end of the period and results announcement.

niceonecyril - 01 Nov 2005 06:54 - 12334 of 27111

Don't know wether this is new? from another board.

In addition walmart said it will show preferance to companies in China that participate in a "green company program" where the company will show preferance to suppliers and there factories are involved in such a program.

"We are commited to reducing our solid waste from US stores and clubs by 25%
in the next 3 years" Scott said. "Were replacing PVC for our private brands with
alternatives that are more sustainable and recyclable within the next 2 years".
