Well Bunny I've it some thought and I've decided I don't know what to suggest for a Bunny 'in drama' so have another glass!

stockbunny - 24 Aug 2004 12:04 - 12340 of 23498

LOL Opto - oh it's just one of those mornings - don't worry no-one knows what to do when the bunny goes into a drama, aside of stand well back!! (lol)
I rang the tax office...
(who want a letter requesting repayment of overpaid tax)
but say that a letter will suffice and I don't have to wait until next year.
So a minor result, as i said it's not the money it's the principle.

Anyway halfway thru' the work I need to get done, so I'm off to get a sandwich and will pop in
after that, in between finishing things off, that's assuming nothing else
crops up ;>) No idea how VOD is currently, but hope it's still OK!!!

stockbunny - 24 Aug 2004 14:18 - 12341 of 23498

Peace, quiet and tranquility in the tea-rooms...
In other words nobody's in here and it looks tidy too,
apart from the three empty bottles of Shiraz - I deny all knowledge!;>)
Work is now done, the bunny is calm and the world is looking prettier!!

I'm goin out on the roof to watch the clouds and drink my tea......

optomistic - 24 Aug 2004 14:23 - 12342 of 23498

Three bottles, thats not bad for a Bunny. Carefull on the roof!!

jeffmack - 24 Aug 2004 15:08 - 12343 of 23498

Afternoon, just in the middle of packing for tomorrows hols

optomistic - 24 Aug 2004 15:18 - 12344 of 23498

You must feel really bad about going away and leaving all this cool rain behind. I suppose you will just have to try and make the best of clear blue skies and relentless sunshine :-(

jeffmack - 24 Aug 2004 15:29 - 12345 of 23498

I'd like to say you are right, but when I looked at the forcast for Cyprus they are expecting thunderstorms next few days. At least the rain will be warm.

optomistic - 24 Aug 2004 15:38 - 12346 of 23498

Have a Guiness before you go Jeffmack

hilary - 24 Aug 2004 15:57 - 12347 of 23498

Cyprus is lovely at this time of year, Jeffie. Where are you staying? My favourite spot has got to be in one of the beach bungalows on the private bit of Nissi Beach just outside Ayia Napa.

amberjane - 24 Aug 2004 16:01 - 12348 of 23498

Hiya Jeffers, I'm just back and off you go, have a good time, not too much booooze.....

Had lovely 35 degrees, ummm. but back to soggy garden and damp house, orchids all miserable and forlorn, wish I could have stayed out there...

Still anyone that knows of my little rabbit problem, have come home to 2 new litters of baby bunnies and they all look really healthy, so it may be dull and raining outside but my heart is shining. (and that is not as sad as it sounds if you knew what I went through).

Hope the markets and life have been kind to everyone, cant read over 1,500 posts!

Now most importantly, apologies to Stormie, feel I may have been more than a little harsh last night...sorry!

Now the markets...what the bloody hell has happended, just couldnt leave those stop losses in could I.....strong coffee please.

hilary - 24 Aug 2004 16:06 - 12349 of 23498

I remember one year we hadn't been skiing and J was really craving for some snow. We went to Cyprus in April (I think) and hired an open top jeep and drove to the top of the Troodos Mountains looking for a bit of snow in the faint hope that we might be able to ski. Needless to say, the season had finished long ago but, although the snow had melted, it was still blooming cold up in the hills. We got lost, I only had a bikini top on; It got dark, the headlights on the jeep didn't work; The windscreen got covered in cr@p and the wipers didn't work. Got back to the hotel at about 10pm just in time for the last sitting of dinner. We'd hired the blasted jeep for a week and didn't bother to take it out again for the rest of the holiday.

Blow Aphrodite's Rock and all the other sights. They're a waste of time. Just chill on the beach.

:o)

OH Hilary, while you're there...many moons ago u mentioned PDL shares and something about a 'diamond geezer'. Well dont know if you held/still hold or not but has he lost a bit of his dazzle?...shares dropped and not moved since....wondered what you know about these (if anything), ta

jeffmack - 24 Aug 2004 16:08 - 12351 of 23498

Hil
I'm off to Paphos (Coral Bay), went for a villa with pool this time, in the middle of a banana plantation close to the sea.

jeffmack - 24 Aug 2004 16:09 - 12352 of 23498

Hil
I was taken for a days trekking in Troodos last year, dare say we will go back next week.

Fundamentalist - 24 Aug 2004 16:11 - 12353 of 23498

Jeff

Went to paphos a few years ago - nice place and gets seriously hot - some nice fish restaurants further round the coast (10 mins away)

hilary - 24 Aug 2004 16:24 - 12354 of 23498

Hello Amber.

Yes, I know a little bit about Petra. Don't hold atm but might be tempted as the newsflow should pick up again as they push Angola forwards. Forget about Alexkor and all the other background noise ....... Angola's where the real money is. Unfortunately, diamonds are universally traded in US Dollars and the weak greenback against the ZAR isn't particularly helping. Hopefully by the time they start taking out of Angola, things might look a bit different. They're undercapitalised, hence the jv. That said, there are a couple of reclusive bsd private investors in this country who were mopping up the Oryx overhang a couple of years back and, I think, they're probably still in the market. When Adonis has previously run low on cash, he's often placed a few shares with them.

How many do you hold? If you hold over 50k or 60k, Adonis will be happy to meet with you when he's in London. He's a lovely chap ...... have you spoken to him? If you haven't, I suggest you give him a call. Unfortunately, it's a leaky stock. OK if you're in the "loop", but you can catch a cold otherwise.

hilary - 24 Aug 2004 16:26 - 12355 of 23498

Jeff,

I'm sure you'll have a great time. I remember having a nice lunch once in Paphos. Can't remember much else about it, I'm afraid.

edit: Villas with their own pool are the way forwards, imo. You won't want to holiday any other way afterwards.

stockbunny - 24 Aug 2004 16:31 - 12356 of 23498

JeffMack have a great time and presumably you wont be hit by any BA
probs now? Don't drink too much and bring us back a tee-shirt each!

Amberjane - good to see you back - good holiday I hope and baby bunnies
too..ahhhh...We've been having a bit of 'fun' on the game, I'll leave you
to read up if you want at your leisure on that LOL

Afternoon Hilary, hope all is well with you.
Off to check stockwatch now and don't worry Opto, got off the roof ok!!

amberjane - 24 Aug 2004 17:18 - 12357 of 23498

Thanks Hilary, no dont hold quite that many but if you want to introduce me....(ther arent many 'lovely chaps' in this world). I was quite new to trading when you commented and I didnt sell and take profit, still have 50% of that but have learn a lot since then which is why as it is stagnant am thinking of taking whats left...

Socrates - 24 Aug 2004 17:21 - 12358 of 23498

Hi all

Jeffmack
I quite liked Cyprus, good time to go when the real heat is starting to ease off a bit. Only downside is the odd thunderstorm but it's a bit early for the worst of them. Keep off the Kokinelli, rot your boots that stuff.

As for Hilary, I am sitting here most uncomfortably. It's the thought of her sitting in a jeep wearing nothing but a bikini top!
