LW
Congrats on the aniversary, not to be sneezed at 24 years, well done. My youngest (19) is off on travels tomorrow. Packed in his job and going to Malia, Crete with a couple of mates to hopefully find some work for the summer. Financed by myself of course.

lol..thanks all.
l.woman...Yes she does.
Hils......Yes we will
Jeffers...Yes, done that [the finance bit]. It's supposed to broaden their minds and perspectives [minds?] but will certainly cause a weight loss in your money belt. Have to make even more tea!....lw

Hello all. I'm basking in the light of a bid for Bulmers which has brightened my otherwise quiet life. What a delight.
Everyone seems in good spirits, does this mean the bear market has bottomed out and sentiment is turning northwards? Any tea in the pot?
Shame about GD, perhaps he's gone and got a proper job and no longer has time for running a cafe. Would have thought he'd still pop in occasionally though. I still think he may suddenly turn up in his demob suit!

How dare you, you cad sir. Have I ever mentioned the shiny seat on your trousers? Never. I have the best socks in Cheltenham, washed every year whether they need it or not. Ask Hightone, he's been to Cheltenham and the only bad pong is from the brewery.
So how are you, you old pen pusher you? I hope you weren't short of Bulmers.

Your congrats are a little premature since I originally bought BULM at 359p. But I will be grateful to have recovered such a large slice of my original investment. I was after the good dividends that they used to pay but nothing in this world is certain except death and taxes!
I'm looking for another Bulmers, but this time the intent is to buy in at the bottom.

I remember mocking you on Bulmers when it was about 1, how I wished I had bought some then

Socs,
I'm so, so pleased for you that you've got the bulk of your BULM money back.
The SN. offer is for cash of 310p per share. They're trading higher than that because of hope that either Interbrew or the Irish firm will up the ante and take it hostile. If things go quiet over the next few days, then I would expect the spread to open and the bid to drop to around 295p as sellers bank profits. In that case you can just sit tight and hold for the money from SN. I've got my fingers crossed for you that it goes hostile. I'd be a bit surprised if it does go hostile however .... it's at a decent premium to nav at the moment.

I am very interested in the offer, I've not read it fully yet. I believe there is also a paper offer which may be advantageous if the S&N trend is right. I think you are probably right and my best bet will be to sell very shortly and let the price drop away, then buy back in for another stab at it.

Minxie, just been catching up on post on another channel.
As Dick Emery used to say, " You are awfull" shove...quite funny really but your 'Jimmy's' heels seem fairly dug in;
Margaret Thatcher, just a pussy cat, tiger...
Good luck Soxy, get a few pounds of snorkers with your returns.
Tone'y...well remember the smell of the drinking areas after racing finished
and the smell of success when we were given good info. by an old mate of mine, one Terry Biddlecombe.
When I lived in Gloucester a gang of us went every Monday afternoon to the Turkish baths at Barton Street and sweat off a few pounds, In the evening we all went for an Indian and a few Tiger beers, incl. T.B.!!!..lol...lw

Saint Willie,
I haven't even started with them yet, let alone dug the Jimmy's in. I might turn the heat up a notch or two soon. See if we can get a few of them toasting nicely.
