DOW JONES @ LIVECHARTS

Hi guys,
Spreadex's Daily Dow doesn't roll over night but i have just bought the march DOW at 10553. Low of the day at the minute, which can be arisky game to play. Just feel it could do a little ranging today in which case i'll try and take 40 pts profit.

Just bought the FTSE too but on the UP/DOWN/UNCH. i think we could get a lot of buyers down here.

As for the Dow, it's diificult to see the support levels as it's been 3 years since we've been here. march dow now 10560 so getting there..

The only thing good about D4F is they let you trade dow & ftse out of hours - price tends to follow futures. At 1am I picked some long dow @10608 and 30 min ago I got some more @ 10570, which I have just sold at 10591!

horse19 - i find the ftse very boring. it is like watching paint dry but 3 times as slow. i have not made a lot of money off the ftse and i much prefer s&p to ftse.

That's why i regularly trade the Up/Down markets because you can gain bigger profits than just trading per point movement on the futures.

I don't really trade the S+P but should because it is the real driving force.

well, i haven't closed the dow yeat but almost made the 40pt target. have put a dtop in at entry level. ALWAYS run the winners. Zarif should be able to tell you that after last night!

My Dow long got stopped out at 10542 and now its back to 10594/602. Damn!
long again at 10609.

I'm currently being quoted 10630 dow!

I moved my stop up to break even and got stopped out.
Fins daily is 10630/36 and the feb future is 10611/19.

Closed my long and now short. Expect it to pull back to last nights close just before open.

Still hanging on my long on the dow and am looking for opps to arise.The figs out from Us were not good.Lets see what happens.
Fed meeting greenspan talking at 19.00-19.50 gmt.
Had a good run on the Fx today as kept the long going from yesterday and banked a good sum. Currenly short on the USD/CAD.

I know the emails were late -due to this email virus going around called "My Doom" -it uses bulk mail to infect others and has an attchment in binary form -so if u open it than its ASTALAVISTA for the PC. So if u get mail and are not sure -just delete dont open.

Javaid u r right about the stops - I tend to use "Small stake with a wide stop In the medium term" trades -easier to refer to it as SWIM.

What are your views for today?

Ps: Do you do the FX trades? -they are good earners and do move about 100-200 points.The trends tend to be more reliable ,volatality is fine and less prone to noise and market manipulation.

i have got a long and short again for the dow. i also have a long s&p to 1170. i think dow is not going to do anything significant so hoping to close both bets at high and low. if i dont do it today i will try do it tomorrow.
i do the euor/dollar and pound/dollar but havent for a few weeks now after my last big profit.
zarif, what program do you use? i have asked previously and i apologise if you already answered and i missed it. i use sharescope and esignal myself.

javidshaik, i used a tight stop this morning as I was scalping, which i promised myself i wouldn't so serves me right.

i've just shorted GBP/USD on my simulator. don't ask me what price i've just shut it down and can't remember.

Javaidshaik: I use metastock EOD for the indices and saxobank for my forex.Also another good one is Fx street.com. Free realtime for six months.

I have this uncanny feeling about the dow today that it is going to POP UP and then drop -possibly after the greenspan speech.( Just thinking out aloud -nag)

Snoball -on the fx -try the USD/GBP as a long say keep stop loss at 18200 and target 1.84 and longer term 1.89
On the saxo demo -where it says trading you will find analysis subfolder which has all the research and the maintrends and trades and from what levels -I find it very useful.

well im doing good on it going down at the moment. depending on what greenspan says, i will close my down and after he has finishes and leave up open (hoping to get that closed tonight).

dow is very much channeling today. not giving me a big enough profit to take either way.
may change when greenspan talks (next half hour i believe).
