MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

Superb read we could have done with that a couple of days ago though 049balt. Should see a big reversal in the companys SP now, onwards and upwards I say.

Good stuff for getting hold of it.

cheers GF.

rob308 - I subscribe to both Mike Walters and t1ps sites. You need to do your own resurch on these sites because the site that matches your trading habits may not be the same for everyone. Although the stop loss section on MW site is very good advice, imho and it's free.

or if it was + or - would help!
It's been a vey interesting couple of weeks anyway, opened my eyes up to other factors ie.shorters and the big effect they can have on a sp.Hopefully things might change in the next couple of years!

goldfinger - 13 Apr 2005 23:58 - 1264 of 2444

Have recently been watching this one closely after missing the boat on the initial rise. Have been affected by shorters on more than one occasion and have often wondered how the likes of EK cover themselves before announcing manipulative short positions.
Hopefully get in below 200p tommorrow.

Got this from the other place.

Positive note out from Insinger's in their Daily UK morning briefing under the title MMG,patent portfolio strentghened, highly respected analyst (unlike GW!) re-iterating that it is a buy with a DCF price of 275p against a morning's share price of 177p generating some 55% upside potentials.Just a brief note expect a full detailed comprehensive note from Insinger's next week.

The market does not understand the full implications of the value of the DNA vaccine patents and the shorters/daytraders don't care. They will as soon as the the SP moves substantially higher on very positive news!!

I think that the shorters will be crying in their beer soon, so don't worry MMG investors lots of good news on the way.
