How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

15:20 Lingfield. Any body see that? Horse was a non runner didn't start but the horse was being traded in play. Talk about total confusion.

Yes I did Scrip. I had greened up on the race but had nipped to the loo having been told it had been withdrawn. I presume money had changed hands in running so a bit of a mess to sort out.

It's down for sure. Maybe another DDOS attack? I wasn't on it this morning so hadn't noticed.

It it is a IT issue they normally post on this site:-
http://www.betfair.info/
So I am guessing it is something more serious.

What's a DDOS attack Peter?

Harlosh, it stands for Distributed Denial of Service and means that someone is trying to knock their site out by attacking it remotely probably from many places, these attacks vary but typically involve saturating the site with requests which affects its ability to respond.

Evening everyone,
Anyone on the Arsenal and Liverpool games tonight?
Although I'd like all the English teams to do well, my head tells me that both teams may struggle tonight.
Liverpool, without Gerrard, are rudderless and lacking inspiration.
In Munich it's serious brass monkey weather and the Arsenal players are wearing tights and gloves!

Terrible start for Arsenal.

If you had backed all the home teams in the CL tonight you would have done very nicely.
