MATALAN - Looking good again! (MTN)

jules99 - 18 Nov 2003 11:15

I missed out on this one from last rise, hopefully I caught it with the horns this time round...

Recently hit 2.67p...been slowly creeping down...

I think everyone on BB's made money except me...this time Im on the right side.

I'm afraid that I'm out. I think the retail sector's in for a torid time and without any sign of a predator methinks my money can be better spent elsewhere. When the SP drops below 150p (which I'm sure it will) I will have another look, depending on prevailing economic climate. Good luck to all those still in.

Big day on the horizon which way will it go ,by the looks of it downward.

stockbunny - 04 May 2005 11:01 - 128 of 140

Down to 189p - tempting...been in this one before a couple of
times and done well with it......

thinking cap on me-thinks.....

further drop in price would be good
:>)

I don't think that these results were that bad. They are probably already reflected in the sp.The increased dividend,at 8.9p is not to be ignored either.
The lower sp means that they become susceptible to marauders once again, which is why I bought them in the first place at 50p higher than they were yesterday.
Lee jeans out of the way,at last...new distribution centre, etc.Come on Walmart, make yer move.

stockbunny - 04 May 2005 14:55 - 130 of 140

But not until the dithering bunny has made her move and bought
in again!
(please..)
;>)

1.50 is the magic price.

Tesco to launch non-food stores

Tim Mason, marketing director for Tesco said: We know that our customers love the convenience of a one-stop shop and our priority will always be to provide this by selling non-food and food under the one roof.

Do people think that this has put the dampeners on Tesco / Walmart perhaps bidding for Matalan ?

I'm not a holder of MTN at the moment but its been on my watch list for ages. What's the thoughts of others on here as to the outlook this year?

daves dazzlers - 13 Jun 2005 09:23 - 133 of 140

Grim,below 180 now.

daves dazzlers - 19 Jul 2005 08:23 - 134 of 140

Whats with this today ?

stockbunny - 19 Jul 2005 09:22 - 135 of 140

I don't know and I'm not questioning it! LOL
Just got out at 210p - should have been 212p but my stop-loss failed
never mind no real harm done but shows the fact that it's always worth
checking these things people and not taking it for granted that what you
think will electronically happen actually will!

Question is - will this come to anything or in 6 months time will we
have the opportunity yet again to pocket on rumour????
(not that I'd moan if that was the case! ;>)

daves dazzlers - 22 Sep 2005 16:32 - 136 of 140
