This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.
Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........
MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture
We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.
Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.
This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)
The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.
Please DYOR
cheers GF.

Good news this morning an excelent appointment to the board...........
Medical Marketing Int'l Group PLC
15 April 2005
For Immediate Release 15 April 2005
MEDICAL MARKETING INTERNATIONAL GROUP PLC
MMI APPOINTS MEDICAL DIRECTOR DESIGNATE
Medical Marketing International Group plc (MMI) (AIM: MMG), the Cambridge,
UK-based pharmaceutical development company focussed on the development of
potential therapies for cancer and infectious diseases, announces that it has
appointed Dr James Brenton (40) as Medical Advisor with immediate effect. This
appointment is part-time and Dr Brenton will continue with his medical career.
It is intended that Dr Brenton will join the MMI Board on or before the next AGM
as Medical Director.
Dr Brenton is a Cancer Research UK Senior Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary
Consultant in Medical Oncology at the University of Cambridge. Dr Brenton's
current research involves clinical trials using platinum-based drugs in cancer
patients. He gained his MB BS in 1988 at University College London Medical
School. James gained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1991.
In 2001 he was awarded a PhD from the University of Cambridge and gained his
Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Medical Oncology in the same
year.
Dr Brenton is a member of the Association of Cancer Physicians, European Society
for Medical Oncology and British Association for Cancer Research. He is also a
member of several national committees for cancer research.
Commenting on this appointment, David Best, Chairman of MMI Group said 'This is
a very exciting time for MMI. There are already four ongoing cancer vaccine
trials with our Genvax technology, and further clinical trials on cancer
vaccines are expected this year. Together with the planned clinical trials on
ruthenium and our pineapple proteases, we may have ten or more cancer clinical
trials ongoing this year. The experience James brings to the team, especially
his expertise in the use of platinum-based drugs in cancer therapy trials, is
both timely and very useful. We all wish James every success at MMI and
continuing success in his existing positions.'
Dr James Brenton said: 'Cancer is an area of medicine where there is still much
to be done. MMI's portfolio of potential cancer therapies is now at an exciting
stage of development and I look forward to adding my expertise in this area to
the developmental and commercial expertise already at MMI.'

This is just getting better. EK want's to be very careful, but as he's a shrewed old boy I wouldn't be supprised to see him reverse his position and go long.

Apparently there is a presentation by MMI at Buchannons offices on the 26th of the month where about 60 brokers/interested parties will attend to hear the latest from Ruthenium and Genvax..

JB, fortunately I still have my cash left from taking profits this year and only have 4 stocks at moment. Yanks hammered again on Friday, could be good buying opportunity next week. Mayiguo, Pharmas & drug stocks one of few areas to survive last few days due to good news in the sector, forget who though.
GF, do you think the shorting has finished now and its in a steady range 180-195 until next news?

Cant say anything with confidence at the moment Andy as the general market and the US is determining share prices. Just have to say Fridays peformance was very good considering the general state of the market.
Nice to see Tom Winnifrith being very bullish this evening and talking down the scare mongerers.
cheers GF.

Similar to Friday taking a tonking but came back at the end.
Nothing you can do in a market like this but take it on the chin and dream of the dot com days LOL. I think after the storm we will be ok. Seen this many times before except for the pre opening farce. So many stocks marked down and also so many being able to sell before the market was open at 8 am. Anyone see all that activity, it should be stopped by the London Stock Exchange.
cheers GF.
