MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

Apparently there is a presentation by MMI at Buchannons offices on the 26th of the month where about 60 brokers/interested parties will attend to hear the latest from Ruthenium and Genvax..

mayiguo - 15 Apr 2005 16:00 - 1284 of 2444

share price continue to tick up with many sells, why?

andysmith - 16 Apr 2005 12:00 - 1285 of 2444

JB, fortunately I still have my cash left from taking profits this year and only have 4 stocks at moment. Yanks hammered again on Friday, could be good buying opportunity next week. Mayiguo, Pharmas & drug stocks one of few areas to survive last few days due to good news in the sector, forget who though.
GF, do you think the shorting has finished now and its in a steady range 180-195 until next news?

hampi_man - 16 Apr 2005 12:29 - 1286 of 2444

BUY confirmed on Britishbulls

goldfinger - 17 Apr 2005 23:00 - 1287 of 2444

Cant say anything with confidence at the moment Andy as the general market and the US is determining share prices. Just have to say Fridays peformance was very good considering the general state of the market.

Nice to see Tom Winnifrith being very bullish this evening and talking down the scare mongerers.

cheers GF.

hlyeo98 - 17 Apr 2005 23:46 - 1288 of 2444

Tomorrow should be up for MMG

goldfinger - 18 Apr 2005 00:24 - 1289 of 2444

Yes its done very well considering the general market state over the last 3 days. Shown some real resilience.

cheers GF.

jimmy b - 18 Apr 2005 00:45 - 1290 of 2444

Still waiting to get back in on this GF,,if the market picks up,, im in ..JB.

goldfinger - 18 Apr 2005 09:04 - 1291 of 2444

Similar to Friday taking a tonking but came back at the end.

Nothing you can do in a market like this but take it on the chin and dream of the dot com days LOL. I think after the storm we will be ok. Seen this many times before except for the pre opening farce. So many stocks marked down and also so many being able to sell before the market was open at 8 am. Anyone see all that activity, it should be stopped by the London Stock Exchange.

cheers GF.

jimmy b - 18 Apr 2005 09:25 - 1292 of 2444

Yes i thought the same GF, thats not playing on a level field for some..JB..

goldfinger - 18 Apr 2005 09:50 - 1293 of 2444

Well MMGs fighting back, if we are to beleive the buy and sell figures we have more shares bought than sold.

cheers GF.

Wish I'd stayed in bed. I'm with you GF. There are a few things the LSE should sort out.
