With hindsight, explosive, many of us would have done the same, but with hindsight, we would all be millionaires by now.
I think the long term outlook for SEO is bright, but there will be ups and downs on the way, that is the nature of the markets. I aint clever enough to time them though.

Now now blinger, theres no conspirency here... I actully enjoy reading your posts and normaly flick through the others which on most occasions are info I already have... I think you give this thread a touch of comedy and spice...
Do you have shares in SEO? I guess not by your posts which leads me to my next question. If not why do you post here?????

Alan - I can sometimes time them. I average 40% a year on the markets and soon will trade for a living... There will always be ups and downs and some years your calls will be better than others. I think the trick is never get too comfortable or think you know it all.... Clearly you claim neither of these which I believe is its own reward....

Read my profile, explosive. I claim nothing more than a rudimentary understanding of the markets. I am a learner and think we all always will be.
The thread speaks for itself, if you go back far enough you will find me asking some real boneheaded questions (still do sometimes). But thank you for what I will take as a compliment.
I am still ridiculously jealous of 40% pa though ;-)
In my short time as an investor I think I have hit about half that, though most of my gains have come from lucky guesses!!
Best of luck doing it full time.

Blinger - hows your informed calling card then? If you believe your correct maybe we should start a new thread. How about a 90 day 5 share race... Highest profit wins... Or maybe if you like we'll do the same but in money terms and have a fantasy portfolio say 20K however you please? It would at the least give you credit on calling if nothing else..

Thankyou Alan, I have not read all your past posts and am surprised your new to trading. I enjoy posting here although I must admit at times I have felt a few have exploited the BB's. Wouldn't surprise me if Tom Bullford and others go by akas here to hype up a share for their subscribers!
I understand Blinger is a rather irritating sod however his posts do on occasion have some element of logic to them. I like to mainly skim the boards adding posts when I have something to add. Best of luck with your future trades, I hope you'll see through whats real and hype on the BB's with time also...

Thats one thing I think I learned pretty quickly, explosive!!
My formula is to ignore the 2 most irritating and obvious rampers and the 2 who do nothing but bait and laugh and read whats left (sometimes nothing).
There are some very good and informed people posting on here, such as driver, EWR, goldfinger, SD, Baza, Boz et al but some who are clearly around just to stir up trouble.
I used to take the trouble makers seriously and try to rationally debate with them, but have learned it is a pointless exercise, so I now treat them as they joke they are!
The downs of the market are just the price one has to pay for ones market education, and I look forward to the rises, not just for the money, but because jokers like ii and blinger finally bugger off to annoy someone else!

Alan - You bring a smile to my face with your post. The boy who cried wolf springs to mind however just like the boy who faced with a wolf an annoying poster could still bring the first alert!! The markets have been to say the least not kind this year... SEO will prosper but only in time. The question is how much time, my calculations say 12 months before 35, then 24 months to 50. In the meantime I believe SEO could fall as far as 10. Thats 2p difference to Blingers prediction just put in a different manner without shouting... On the up side the SP falls to 12, GBP over USD good recovery with locked in product price. Either way the sp for me has to fall below 5 before I consider selling.

You lost me on the GBP over USD locked in whatever, whatever. Must be further in my next lesson, that one. (No I think I've worked it out).
Blinger / ii may well be right and it may fall again. I don't know, but with spreads, costs and fees, and my abysmal record at calling it, I'm not about to trry and trade.
But let the records show, that back in summer, when the price hit its highs, and I was fairly new to MAM, I was cautioning about the 50pps party in Doncaster not going to be held this year.
My reasons for this were somewhat more base than the studying many others do, and I can't be bothered checking what I did say, but I thought at the time that the price would stabilize at quite a high level, but not advance any more. I'll claim half right for that!!
The point is that anyone can post almost every day forecasting a fall, and they will be right sometimes. They are very quick to point it out, but on the whole the doom mongers for this share have been wrong..............so far.
I earnestly hope that they will continue to be so, in the longer term, but they will have days when they are right and we have to suffer their very odd sense of humour.
If you enjoy a sense of fun, though, please visit GFs' NOWT thread.
Best thread on any site I've seen!!

Down ward profit I think until profit and loss catches up with hype. Agree though now is a good time to buy.
Alan there are many shares at a current low which will recover and reap small short time profits. Your "abysmal record" as you call it seams to be a trend at the moment with even the tipsters experiencing a down trend at the moment.
I think the spread will continue to fall, not by much however. Were aready seeing this one bottoming out as the spread shortens. When its around 0 then the time to buy is best. But you already know that....
We don't need major news, commitment to revenue will do superrod! I can't see this coming until after the new year, why should it. Asda are still within their 12 months so no point giving the game away before its time...

I spoke to NF a couple of months ago and they said that they were NOT using GS yet - and howard confirmed that later on as they were not top of their priority list. That was not to say that NF were not going to convert - just that they were not a priority supplier.

Confirmation re the banning of Plastic Food Packaging in France. ( Confirms article of several days ago ). For full article see link.
http://english.www.gov.tw/TaiwanHeadlines/index.jsp?categid=10&recordid=88422
Restrictions on the use of plastic containers for various edible goods in supermarkets and bakeries are expected to begin by next February, the Environmental Protection Administration said on Monday.
The trial revealed that the alternative packaging was similiar to plastic packaging regarding strength, hydro preservation, weight load and temperature needs.
Businesses found to not be following the new regulations would be fined between NT$1,200 to NT$6,000.

How do we know it's only 5 conversions. I don't think they're gonna advertise every single conversion.

i don't want to get into all that again, kong. the last report from t+g said they expected 5 by end of october. as for not advertising every single conversion, they haven't because there haven't been any new conversions, we already knew about these 5. seo have put the t+g report on their site and haven't contradicted t+g's statement of 5 conversions. so, until we know otherwise, i think it's fair to say this is the number to stick to for the time being.

There have been comments somewhere - cant remember where - that conversions are going ahead at full pace - but that there have been delays because each new type of machine has taken up to 2 weeks to convert - and there are 25 ?? different varieties - also a shortage of machines to take their place whilst they are being converted.
Its all pretty irrelevant at the end of the day - in 5 years time - you will look back and the 3 month delay will be but a pin prick in time.
I see this as benefiting everyone - those who are skilled at trading and can call the longs and the shorts accurately (which is not me) will make money - those who are in for the long term - will also make money - but probably not in the timeframe that they originally thought - and most importantly - those companies that invest in the technology - will also enhance their ability to increase profits or remain competetive.
All in all - I think this company is a winner for all concerned
I think we might drop back a tad - possibly even to about 12p - until some revenue enhancing news is forthcoming.
Still holding for the longer term on current potential
